| RE: Remote control by LaMetric Time, IFTTT, etc.? | 12 Relevance | 4 years ago | remy | Other Development | |
| Today I decide to give it another go (annoyed Google home/assistant integration stopped working). I solved it via my Samsung Smartthings hub. I've created a Smart app in Smartthings that takes the input of a switch to determine if the Sisyphus need to be on or off (sleep or not). I access the table based on that switch and created a virtual switch in Smartthings that I name Sisyphus. The Smart app accesses the Sisyphus table and mimics what the app sends to the table (monitor your network traffic 😉 ). Due to Smartthings being integrated to Google home/ assistant I now have a device called Sisyphus that I can also use in routines of both Smartthings and Google Home/Assistant + voice etc. Works like a charm, out the Door with IFTTT. | |||||

| RE: "wave x3" from 2020 contest crashes table on FW 1.10.83 | 9 Relevance | 5 years ago | matt2 | Community Tracks | |
| Thanks for the heads up. The track won't actually crash the table, but it does Lock up the cpu for a bit while it truncates extraneous verts from the very large track. If you see this again, give it a little more time. It only needs to do this operation the first time it plays a track. I've replaced the .thr for this particular track in Community with the already truncated version, so it should play right away for any new downloads. | |||||
| Wired port | 9 Relevance | 6 years ago | quickdraw497 | Connectivity | |
| I'm trying to use the wired port on the pi instead of the wireless to get around some restrictions at my work. Really just so I can update the firmware. I can get an IP address fine, and connect via browser to port 3001. Initially I get the app page and everything seems fine. After approx 2 seconds, it goes to the lost connection page with the "learn how to fix this" and "retry connection" options. When I retry the connection, same thing. page briefly comes up then switches to lost connection. I've tried multipe browsers with no luck. I didn't disable the onboard wireless so it is still acting as a local hotspot. I'm a little scared to do that in case I Lock myself out. Any thoughts? Thanks -Patrick | |||||

| Under-the-hood, it is using cron, but the current app/api setup doesn't allow more than the options we make available through the app. Considering the thread you put this on though, I do have a working beta of the Matter (smart home) software. I personally only have Apple Home for testing, but it should be interoperable on all the major platforms. This would be the best WAy to really customize your schedule to fit any need. | |||||

| RE: Line to Center of Table after Erase Track Finishes | 5 Relevance | 6 years ago | Shannon | Table Usage | |
| Thank you for the track! I have also learned that if you are using a playlist, the table is Smart enough to recognize where the last track stopped (outside or in the middle) and will launch the next track from that position (if the track is capable from being played in reverse). The standard erase track is capable of starting from the middle and working out, or from the outside working to the middle. However, if you launch the track on its own (outside of a playlist), it will always home the table and start from the middle... | |||||

| Hey are there any updates on Alexa integration? Really eager to get this going. If not can I get confirmation that it won’t be a big deal to add a Smart home on/off plug that I can control with Alexa? I won’t use it often but it would be more convenient to use voice when sitting down to WAtch a movie and WAnting to turn down the table light than doing it through the app. Thanks! | |||||
| Trouble maintaining connection to table from Safari | 9 Relevance | 8 years ago | jessicarunnels | Connectivity | |
| Hello all! I have had my table several months now and am no less enamored of it than I WAs on day 1. I am having a recurring problem that I am hoping someone might have some insight on. I have a 36" table running 1.4.0 (I previously had the beta, but had a sisbot replacement and did not re-upgrade). My computer is a MacBook Pro running High Sierra 10.13.6 and my preferred browser is Safari (but the problem is reproducible in Firefox and Chrome). Right now, I am having a very unreliable connection to the table. If I use the IP address, it will usually con ... | |||||

| ... to “Pause between tracks / restart after 1Hr” so we can enjoy the finished look, but we spend a lot of time staring at erasers (especially when there’s a double erase to prevent a connection line). Speaking of, this might be a bit more playlist code, but it would also be lovely if reversible erasers in a playlist could go ahead and be Smart enough to inject a connection line before themselves if needed, to prevent a connection line after. This WAy there’s never a need for a double erase. | |||||
| Browser App Suggestion | 5 Relevance | 6 years ago | jeffh46 | App Updates | |
| If possible, can you create a WAy for people that use a browser to access their table as opposed to a Smart device to utilize more screen real estate and add in the ability to drag and drop tracks from one playlist to another? It would make creating playlists WAy easier than having to remember names and keep going back and forth between lists to look for new ones. The browser version has plenty of space to do this since you created a portrait style interface in a landscape layout [something like the attached image where you drag from all tracks to whatever p ... | |||||

| I love my mini ! Some day when I have more money I hope to buy a bigger table in addition !! I would like to suggest 1) a user-adjustable (or multiple choice) time delay pause between track (instead of just indefinite pause which is also good) 2) LIVE drawing, where the Smart phone device could be used as a virtual joystick to control the ball and/or the lights in real time 3) easier playlist manipulation and re-sorting (I think I’ve read that this one is already in the works ?) 4) is it possible, one day, to gain back the 1.5” of drawing real estate lost to two-ball mode ? I imagine it’s not much on the larger models but on the mini it’s more significant. thanks !!!! Sisyphus Rocks !! ???????????????????????????????????????? | |||||

| Wifi channels 12 and 13 | 5 Relevance | 8 years ago | kristoffer.bjorkman | Connectivity | |
| Due to wifi congestion (sometimes over 40 SSIDs visible on 2.4GHz!) I really *need* to have my 2.4GHz network on channel 12 or 13 which are relatively less used. It seems that Sisyphus can't find the network now that I changed the channel to >11. In Europe channels 1-13 are regularly used for 2.4GHz wifi. I understand that in the US you only use channels 1-11 for home networks. I'm doing my own projects with the Raspberry Pi 3 and it is Smart enough to limit the available wifi channels depending on the region setting. I guess my problem is that my Sisyphus believes it is in the US and not allowed to use channels >11. How can I make it connect to a channel 12 or 13 network? I am fully comfortable with using SSH to change region setting if that is required (though I don't have the password needed). | |||||
| RE: Adding colored LEDs | 5 Relevance | 8 years ago | jessicarunnels | Table Customization | |
| It is not plugged into the computer, so it runs entirely separate from the table. That said, it is very easy to program it for all of the same functionality (and more) as the original strip. And as a bonus, you can control it with a variety of Smart home apps like HomeKit. 🙂 | |||||

| I have one of the original side table Sisyphus. It has worked flawlessly from the beginning. Every guest through the front Door is amazed by it. I WAs looking at the upgrade kit. I have been so happy with the elegant simplicity of the table I am not sure about doing the upgrade on it. I might get one of the new mini tables. I love showing the table to friends and family. Most interesting item in our home. | |||||

| Table arrived via FedEx. The driver literally rolled the box onto the porch and up to the Door! Lord only knows how this poor table suffered on the trip! When I ran the erase program the table ran fine until it got to the outer reaches and then the ball stopped and the table began a loud chattering. It sounded like it WAs hanging up on something. Found that one of the supports for the main plate WAs bent. Bent it downward a few mm and the table has run fine for an erase cycle and now a drawing. Just an FYI. | |||||
| Sisyphus app in the Amazon Appstore, please? | 5 Relevance | 8 years ago | joshr | Other Development | |
| I've decided to dedicate a tablet for Sisyphus (and other Smart home) control in my living room, and Amazon's Fire tablets happen to be the cheapest available (especially on Prime Day!) I am also using Flic on this tablet via Bluetooth to provide physical buttons for pausing/playing and toggling the light on the Sisyphus table. Everything's in place and I'm happy with this setup, but the Sisyphus app itself isn't available in the Amazon Appstore, so I'd have to end up sideloading it somehow, or using the web app, both which sound a bit clunky. So here's my request. Can the Sisyphus app please be [submitted to the Amazon Appstore?]( Hopefully this is an easy process. Making it easily available there will simply expand the reach of the (free) software, and spread more awareness of the Sisyphus table. Thanks for the consideration. | |||||
| A Question of Noise | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | UK Guy | Table Usage | |
| ... would quieten down but this has not been the case. I had read somewhere in this forum mention of a 'satisfying crunch' sound but this is not what I am referring to. The noise I'm concerned about is a 'grinding' type sound that is especially loud when the ball is running in a more direct line from the 0-1 axis or 1-0. I have tried running the mini with the ball(s) removed altogether and the 'grinding' sound is just as loud so it's nothing to do with the ball movement itself. When a track is in pause mode there is no sound whatsoever and the speed setting is ... | |||||
