... But WArranty is 1 year For everything except wood tables - which is 2 years. I would suggest checking the 2-wire cable which connects the LED string to the SisBotBoard under the table. If you follow it back (from the LEDs to the SBB) you will find a connection Near the LED string and another where it attaches to the SBB. Try disconnecting and reconnecting them. If that doesn't help, please start a support ticket at the above email address. We'll get it fixed ASAP.
... an x,y based image and converts it into the dialect of polar that the table speaks and just realized there WAs a reversal.
just my notes of the tables polar preferences vs the Cartesian equivalent
1) quadrants are different - For the normal 1,2,3,4 in Cartesian , the table "sees" 2,3,4,1 For the image - just a Pi/2 rotation fixes that.
2) The table is exquisitely sensitive to the value of Pi when you cross the 0 angle line clockwise or counterclockwise , otherwise it "jumps" in movement
3) The 0,0 area is problematic area For drawing - best to avoid or ...
I Mean a realtime stream of the current position so I could adjust the addressable LEDs based on where the ball currently is (e.g., make it brighter when the ball is Near, or change the color, or whatever). A separate process on the Pi could run the LEDs, or a separate small Arduino could do it. So some inter-process communication, or a serial port stream. It doesn't have to be high resolution.
I'll also say welcome to the community. Just popping in from the reddit Forums (TheJugg1er over there). Look Forward to the community developing, and sharing the tracks I've been working on with the global Sisyphus owners in the Near future.
Under-the-hood, it is using cron, but the current app/api setup doesn't allow more than the options we make available through the app.
Considering the thread you put this on though, I do have a working beta of the Matter (smart home) software. I personally only have Apple Home For Testing, but it should be interoperable on all the major platforms. This would be the best WAy to really customize your schedule to fit any need.
... the app these details are in the respective app store.
Can I opt not to update? For the app this is a setting on your phone and not anything we can control. On the firmware, we do not auto update. However, a couple possible explanations occurred to Me. When loading the app it always checks For an update and prompts you to update. Is it possible this WAs clicked through without fully reading? Are there any others in your residence connecting to the table that may have triggered an update inadvertently or otherwise?

@Andrewstatham -
Sorry to hear that you've had trouble with your new table. We're doing our best to prevent software crashes during firmware upgrades (and evidently, track downloads, in your case). We have a new version that we're Testing now to prevent just such occurrences. I am optimistic that re-imaging your SD card will fix things - but in the future, the first place to go if you're having trouble is our support desk. Our support staff are all intimately knowledgeable about our products, and are extremely capable at troubleshooting and fixing problems.

We've found a Apple specific bug related to the issue you are experiencing. As you've found, it doesn't happen all the time but is certainly frustrating when it does. In the next week or two we'll push an update to the iOS app to fix this. In the Mean time, we've found that it only happens in our Testing when selecting greater than 10 tracks or switching apps during the process. As such, until the fix is pushed we suggest selecting less than 10 tracks and staying on the Sisyphus app during each track download. Thanks For your assistance in identifying this issue.

Hi there,
I did some quick Testing and am currently unable to duplicate. What mobile device are you using? What app version?
Thanks,
Micah
I just published a release that now exports patterns as Theta-Rho .thr files. Online at Be sure to select "Polar" For the Format at the top of the page.
If anyone is up For Testing it out or providing feedback I'd be happy to hear it.
@dithermaster - "Centrifugal Force?" - Nope. Although the magnet-ball coupling is flexible and can be broken by angular acceleration that is large enough, our tables don't go fast enough to lose the ball simply by going in a circle so fast that the ball flies off. I know this from having witnessed exactly that while Testing high speeds on servo-driven large scale prototypes. The concern about higher speeds on the tables, is that tracks with sharp corners can cause position loss in the output of the motors (from the high accelerations at the corners). This is usually a tiny error - but can accumulate.
... or correct:
All track files (filename.thr), must start with their Rho value either 0 or 1, and end with Rho either 0 or 1 - end and start Rho can be the same. I chose to start with this limitation so that tracks could easily be linked together without distracting traces connecting a new track's start to the last track's end. Therefore, there are four track "flavors": 00, 01, 10, 11. If a track finishes playing at Rho = 1, and the next track's start Rho is 0, the program will try to reverse the track - which will works For 01 and 10 tracks. If reversing d ...
Thank you For the notice, we are looking into the fix. What OS version is on the device?
We have received a similar complaint from a customer with Android 11. In internal Testing, 12+ has been fine.
We hear you (and again, sorry!) - Matt is finishing up the final Testing of the new version (with several fixes, including this issue). Soon!
Believe it or not - it's coming! We have a new vacuum Former, and are Testing various designs now. Should be available by summer (hopefully, sooner).
Yes, it currently applies to the erase track too - which we know is not optimal. We are currently Testing a new update that will allow you to have more control over the erasing, including putting an erase automatically between all tracks, and if using "pause between tracks," not pausing after erases.
We did test acrylic early on on our prototypes - but abandoned the idea because of the static issue you describe. However - you needn't worry about the glass shattering. It's tempered, and not easily broken. In the unlikely event you drop it on a stone / ceramic floor, it could shatter (and the pieces could end up spread over a large area), but they would not be sharp - more like small irregular cubes. Here's the result of our early "toughness Testing" -

This is possible. The steps vary depending on laptop OS but use a SD imaging utility such as win 32 disk imager or DD in command line on macs. There's a number of WAys to accomplish this but I would suggest creating the backup and then restoring to a separate SD card and Testing it before depending on it.
... For two reasons. First, the Erase track will only play center-out that WAy; it would really be nice to be able to specifically choose to play a track in reverse.... And more annoyingly, if I WAit For the Erase track to complete by arriving at Rho 1, then even if I select another single track that BEGINS at Rho 1, the table homes to Rho 0 before going back to Rho 1 to begin the track, leaving Me with 2 connection lines before the track begins.
I work in IT, so I understand that bugs happen, and I'm used to Testing, troubleshooting, and narrowing down prob ...
