Hello everyone.
My name is Joel Schaubert and I'll be doing Testing For the upcoming 1.4 release. Currently we are beta Testing version 1.3.
First up, let Me thank everyone who's been helping us by Testing the new release and submitting bug reports.
I'll be reviewing existing bug reports from the reddit posts, and then answering them here with a cross posting on reddit to send people to the new Forums.

... prototype, but actually got started ten years earlier, working on a different drawing machine that also had no pen-up ability - the first Eggbot. My goal then - creating single, continuous paths that look cool both while being drawn and when completed - remains the same now. Since I WAs not Formally trained as an artist, I never learned to draw by hand skillfully. But I took to early 2D CAD software quickly, and soon WAs able to control the "pen" using simple algorithms (a.k.a. turtle graphics). Eventually, AutoCAD became my main tool. Most of the routines ...
Today my table started making multiple clicking noises a second when its Near the center, these are loud thunks that sound like skipping gears. I believe it is skipping gears since the lights get out of sync with the ball when these happen (lights move past the ball). It is more frequent in the center but still happens half WAy out. Seems to happen more on the South East-East side (Mini's cable is North) of the table. I have taken off the top and cleaned both the arms, the plates and the underside but its still present
It's hard to diagnose the cause of noise via verbal description - but I'm fairly sure the noise is not gear teeth being skipped. It is most likely the Rho stepper motor "stalling." When unable to turn its shaft because of Mechanical resistance (obstruction, higher than normal friction, etc.) it vibrates loudly. This can happen if Rho homing (finding the center) isn't working right, and the Rho axis hits its end of travel. It causes no damage to gear or pulley teeth. Our support team is expert at troubleshooting and fixing issues. Please contact the support desk, and if you can, take a video of your Mini when it's making the noise and out of position and upload it there.
I couldn't find the appropriate Forum For this note, so this one will have to do.
I WAnt to express my admiration For the responsiveness and doggedness of the development team. The app is vastly improved, booboos are acknowledged and rectified, and both the attitude and skill of the team Merit fulsome praise. Gold stars all around!
Hmm... I don't really have a good, ready-made solution For you. Sisyphus is, by its nature, a slowly evolving experience - difficult to show specific drawings quickly. You can always change to a track, like "India" which covers a lot of the field relatively quickly. But I might suggest asking your guests to look closely at how the ball is creating the highly intricate dunes with extreme precision, as it adds layer after layer to long tracks like "Apache." Take a look at the Community tracks (Community tab on your app), and maybe you can find a short track that plays Near the periphery?
You can try disconnecting and reconnecting the 3-wire cable to the lights, at the connector Near the start of the light strip, and at the circuit board - but if that doesn't remedy the flickering, the strip will need replacement. Please contact our support team.
Hi,
A couple of times a day, the ball gets "stuck" and the table produces a clicking noise. I've reset the table to no avail. Observations:
Always happens Near the center. I _think_ it's during a homing operation.
Does not appear to occur on a specific track.
I've set the speed to something reasonable (~60%)
Can eventually pull out of it (after a minute+ of clicking).
Thoughts? Thanks For any help.
... them to the inner surface of the Metal skirt, Near the bottom edge, using the arms holding the sisbot as a guide For even spacing. This makes a cover that is WAshable and breathable, as well as nondestructive to the table. I can't promise that a cat won't try to snag its claws on it, though.
... in the browser instead of causing pauses on the Sisyphus itself. SVG files now read polyline elements, as well as smoothing lines that cross Near zero. Previously you may have seen added bumps Near the center, as the polar Mechanism would move between points.
Also in this update, is the ability to upload additional RGBW patterns. I've started a separate post about this here: Custom RGBW Patterns
A number of bug fixes are also included in this update, including but not limited to:
Hotspot SSID maxlength of 32
RGBW Error Messages (theta/rho/usb/servo_rho/ ...
Hello Sisyphus Community!
I recently WAs lucky enough to acquire a Metal Sisyphus side table second hand from someone who used to work For the company. I've really been enjoying exploring how the table and interface work. However, the table has a few issues that I'm hoping someone could help Me troubleshoot to get it working properly.
The first issue is that both of the white/RGB light strips aren't working properly under normal operating conditions. The linked picture shows how the lights typically look when the table is running:
At first I thought it w ...

Erase Before Playing is an option on each individual Track page. This setting is per-track, so if you turn it on For "Sailboat", every time that track plays, it will run an erasing movement right before it. The currently playing name will be "Sailboat", it does not say "Erase" during those movements. It also plays the erase movement at a faster speed than the regular track movements.
The Queue is a new WAy that the Sisyphus manages the upcoming tracks. It is a single list ...
Write the following 2 line text file
0 1
314.159 0
save it as "inwarderase.thr"
upload it and run it on the table - it will erase from the outside to the inside.
use 157.0795 if you WAnt it faster and coarser lines (pi*some even value - 100 and 50 here)
but be aware that any movement to movement Near the center except For a long spiral like that will be choppy.
The table should grab the time from your phone when connected to it, but will not remember the time after a power cycle - this will change in the Near future (the table will be able to get time from the internet). But without the table connected to WiFi, the phone is its only time reference. If it's still not updating after phone connection (every time the table is rebooted), please start a support ticket.

For those of us who are nowhere Near as smart as you all. Can you explain step by step on how to put custom tracks from the dropbox folder onto our playlists?
Hi Jessica -
Thanks For the bug reports. I know the app evolution is slow, but we have a new dev team taking over, and we're very optimistic they will be able to take the app to the next level in the Near future. There is a lot of streamlining to be done - all the features / bugs your ask For / report are known well to us. We'll get to them, promise. In the Mean time, than For your patience.

... it gets better / smoother. Your static problem is a different matter, though more noticeable as your sand becomes finer. Static phenomena are notorious For being difficult to track down and eliminate in industry. A long while back, I WAs obsessed / outraged by sand sticking to the ball during dry periods (like Minnesota winters). I tried grounding everything Metal anywhere Near the sand, including the pan. Nope. My undergrad WAs biochem and included lots of inorganic as well. Took Me a while, but I finally tried mixing baking soda (NaHCO3) in - and it work ...
Do you have a second ball? This is just a hunch, but the errant drawing doesn't look haphazard - there are definitely "related features" - which makes Me suspect that the head ball got picked up by the tail magnet. So what you're currently seeing are inside-out version of tracks. To confirm this, reboot your table (either Form the app or by power cycling). The ball should go to the center, but I predict it will go to the edge. If I'm right, you'll need to take off the glass, pickup the ball and place it Near the center, where you'll feel the head magnet grab it. If I'm wrong, please contact our support staff.

Hi James,
I think you're asking how to edit a playlist not just add a track. Follow these steps:
Select Library on the bottom Menu
Select the playlist you WAnt to add tracks to
Select the edit icon on the top right
The first page allows you to re-order tracks in the playlist
Select add tracks Near the top, just under the playlist name.
From here you can add and remove tracks at will by hitting plus or minus next to the track. When you add a track it's added to the end of the playlist.
Hit done on the top right to go back to the first page to re-arrange y ...
... Curved gives Me two text boxes to fill, whereas Spiral only gives Me one, but in all cases, I get that error regardless of whether I enter a single character or enough characters to raise the line length value to Near maximum. I'm WAiting to make sure the "echo" area lower in the interface updates based on what I typed before clicking "Draw preview first", but I can't avoid that error. What am I doing wrong?
