All track files (filename.thr), must start with their Rho value either 0 or 1, and end with Rho either 0 or 1 - end and start Rho can be the same. I chose to start with this limitation so that tracks could easily be linked together without distracting traces connecting a new track's start to the last track's end. Therefore, there are four track "flavors": 00, 01, 10, 11. If a track finishes playing at Rho = 1, and the next track's start Rho is 0, the program will try to reverse the track - which will works for 01 and 10 tracks. If reversing d ...
Hello,
I am wondering if there is any WAy to set the path of a track without having to go into the list of coordinates. When I make a track in wintopo, put it through Sisyphusfortherestofus and import it to sandify, it picks its own path for the track. Most of the time, the path it selects is not one i would choose. Is there an easy WAy to set the path yourself?
Thanks!
Coop
Yes, the idea I had for a center-center or edge-edge erase track WAs to do half the number of turns as usual, and then do the other half on the WAy back? That WAy, the total distance remains roughly the same, without creating any obvious asymmetries or doubling back. But given the tight spacing, it probably still wouldn't look like a normal erase track.
Bruce,
Thanks for the welcome.
There is absolutely no need to feel like the WAy the Mechanism works is "wrong" in any WAy. Since you are the pioneer in this artistic endeavor, whatever you did is just right with Me. The fact that the designs start at the 12 o'clock position lends itself nicely to the clockwise functionality.
Even though I have only been thinking about this build for a few days, I feel like I already have my first victory with your confirmation about the direction.
I will start another thread detailing the progress of my project.
Bob
The Erase track WAs deleted. How do I get that one back? Is there a WAy to restore it? I've read about the WAy you upload files, but I can't find the default tracks anywhere?
Under-the-hood, it is using cron, but the current app/api setup doesn't allow more than the options we make available through the app.
Considering the thread you put this on though, I do have a working beta of the Matter (smart home) software. I personally only have Apple Home for testing, but it should be interoperable on all the major platforms. This would be the best WAy to really customize your schedule to fit any need.
... of our tables to NYC for the Architectural Digest Design Show, and will be pre-occupied for the week (though I will join them on Tues. and discuss this). If by chance you happen to be Near, we'd be happy to WAlk you through it at the show (Thurs-Sun, we can get you some free tix).
... could possibly be related to the occasional power losses you've Mentioned. If power outages are a frequent occurrence, I would suggest plugging the table into a UPS. The tables do not use much power, 5-50 WAtts max, so it wouldn't take a very large one to keep it running for a while. To debug the cause of the table becoming inoperable after a few hours, I'd like to check the logs on your table. If you WAnt to dive further into this please restart your table, enable log sharing and send a Message through out support portal letting Me know logs are available. ...
I just tried setting up the Mini Essential table I received but have run into trouble.
On first powerup I WAs able to connect to the Sisyphus wifi network with the app. I then had the Mini connect to my office's guest wifi network.
It seems that the Mini WAs able to connect to the guest wifi but I WAs not able to in turn connect to the Mini with the app. I'm guessing the wifi security settings will not allow device-to-device connection. Unfortunately there is no WAy to turn off the guest wifi as suggested in this article (it's in an office of 300 people) s ...
... that a line consisting of a pair of numbers represents an angle and radius and that a pair of lines like that represents a line in angle-radius space. Is there a WAy to manipulate the speed of the ball in a thr file? Are there standards for comments? Etc.
2) Does the ball always goes to home, i.e., (0,0), when a thr file is begun?
3) Is there a WAy to view the default thr files? I know how to upload and erase files, but is there a WAy to download them. In particular, I am interested in the erase file. (I've made my own, consisting of two lines, that ...
For reaching out to Sandify, I would suggest doing so through their Github repo:
As for checking out your files, I'd be happy to. I've sent an email your WAy.
Matt
Thank you both for the interesting discussion. The table will be inaugurated with a homebrew today. But hopefully not the WAy as a ships christening.
The best WAy to figure out the issue is for you to start a support ticket where we can get more information about your table: Submit a request – Sisyphus Industries
Hi. I'm a backer of the original Kickstarter back in 2016 for a 3ft coffee table, shipped all the WAy across the pond to the UK! Still loving it.
I've seen the 2-ball plus RGBW upgrade on the site but it's currently not showing. Do you expect it to be available any time soon?
Many thanks and keep those creative juices flowing.
Any WAy you could share the motion data? I bet it can easily be converted with Python.
I WAnt to put pip on my table for the factory installed python2. This is so I can get a package to have the lightstrip in the table match my philips hue setup. I keep getting permission issues for saving files, and 404 errors for the repositories in the table (cant get any package I WAnt). I feel like this thing is super locked down, which is good, but not for someone like myself. I struggle to create a backup as well. Any WAy to let Me at this thing, no restrictions? Why is the entire thing set as read only? Surely there must be a part of the setup that is ...
@matt2 So...there is no WAy to begin a playlist at rho=1 with a track written to begin at rho=0, even though the app supports creating such a playlist? (See image in my orig post above.)
If so, the app should be modified to reflect this, because currently, even as the notation under the beginning track says "1/0 reversed", the track in fact plays 0/1 ... non-reversed!
With the ball at rho=1, is there no WAy to play a 0/1 track reversed from that position?
In the earlier release, when I WAnted to run Erase from 1 to 0 (reversed), I solved the problem by ma ...
Is there a WAy to safely remove the ballpark ? I Mean, detach it from the table without causing damage underneath ? I really love my table, I Mean, REALLY, but ALL my frustrations come from this ballpark.
During the first week when I got the table , I've tried a couple of tracks with two balls mode and it WAs nice to see it operate. But frequently, the second ball WAs getting stock on the "main park" of the ballpark (on the right side)... Or even worse, during a Single ball track run, the second ball WAs hooked by "mistake" by the secondary arm and ruins th ...
... orient my table accordingly in my living room. But I just played that same track again a few days later, and that track is now playing rotated 90 degrees clockwise from the WAy it played originally. I'm not sure if this matters, but between the two runs of this track, I installed firmware update 1.10.70. If that doesn't account for it, does it make a difference whether a track is played as a single track or played in a playlist immediately after a previous track, i.e. does the table only "zero/reset" the theta value it has accumulated from playing the pr ...
So I turned this feature on and within about three tracks all my sand WAs pushed to the outer edge. Now, I don't know if this is because I WAs playing a lot of community drawings that also had erases in them or what. Either WAy, I turned the feature back off. I'm not sure what the answer is.
