| ... end) as they are added - and if a connector will be added. You can change the order of tracks in a playlist by editing the playlist and hovering over a track, then dragging it. The other thing to be aware of is that tracks can be Set to "not reversible". Normally, "01" and "10" tracks are automatically reversed as needed to avoid connector lines. But not if the track is Set to non-reversible. You can change the Setting by clicking on a track (in the library) and viewing its Settings. Lastly - when you play a playlist, if you choose "shuffle" it will do it ... | |||||

The Sisyphus app is stuck at "Waiting for WiFi Connection..." and never does anything else, even after being left open and next to the table for several minutes. I tried the IP addresses 192.168.42.1 and 169.254.51.1 in the browser, while trying to be connected to the Sisyphus-Jeff Wi-Fi and they do not resolve either.
| RE: Sisyphus Programming Guide - So far | 4 Relevance | 7 years ago | dithermaster | Community Tracks | |
| Thanks Ray. Some notes on your document: This paragraph: "All Files must start with a 0,0 or 0,1 position. The end pair of numbers in the file must end with rho value opposite of the rho value in the first pair (if you start with a 0,0 you end with a theta, 0)" says three different and conflicting things. None of them are true. In fact, you must start with rho equal to 0 or 1. The theta values don't matter. The initial theta is treated as a "starting theta" and all subsequent thetas are relative to it. The ending theta does not need to be 0 or the starting theta. This note "There are 2 'types' of instructions that the table can understand based on the difference between the theta values in the next Set of instructions in the data Set." is also not strictly true. The table only has one type of instruction, and that's a theta, rho pair. It moves that ball to that new position, interpolating in polar coordinates to get there. That's all. There isn't anything special about an erase (except the filename, which makes it run faster). In my path generators some of them think in polar but convert to cartesian, and then all of them subdivide cartesian lines or bezier segments down until they are small enough and then output them as .thr polar. In that backend I also look for "too small" of polar movements and remove points to keep file sizes down. The values I use for cartesian subdivison and polar point removal are tuned to not make artifacts, but also not make too big of file. | |||||

Often when the browser or app would be searching for the table, it would stutter again, but usually once it connected it would behave normally. I always assumed this WAs just standard behavior (I see the same kind of pausing of movement when uploading tracks), but now it is stuttering all the time even when I am not trying to access it via browser ...
| How can I use "apt install" to get new packages? | 2 Relevance | 3 years ago | virtualdmns | Table Usage | |
| I WAnt to put pip on my table for the factory installed python2. This is so I can get a package to have the lightstrip in the table match my philips hue Setup. I keep getting permission issues for saving files, and 404 errors for the repositories in the table (cant get any package I WAnt). I feel like this thing is super locked down, which is good, but not for someone like myself. I struggle to create a backup as well. Any WAy to let me at this thing, no restrictions? Why is the entire thing Set as read only? Surely there must be a part of the Setup that is ... | |||||

| RE: Feature Request - Erase Between Tracks | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | App Updates | |
| This feature is still there - just a little non-intuitively placed. The "erase before track" option acts on the track level, meaning you need to Set it for each track you WAnt it to affect (there is no global Setting that adds it for every track). To do this, got to Library > Tracks. Scroll or search for the track you WAnt to apply this to, and hit the 3 dots to the right of it. This will bring up a list of options (like reversible, fixed orientation, etc.). Erase before track is there. Once checked, an erase will precede this track when played as a singl ... | |||||

| Sandify dimensions for Xyla table? | 2 Relevance | 2 years ago | [email protected] | Community Tracks | |
| I just got my Sisyphus Xyla — thanks so much for a gorgeous table! I'm using Sandify to create my first track. As a guess, I Set the following dimensions for the machine: Type: Rectangular Min x (mm): 100 Max x (mm): 1350 Min y (mm): 100 Max y (mm): 650 However, when I export either to THR format or SVG format, when I go to upload the track to , the result seems to assume I'm using the older round table style, even if I select the "XYLA" tag. Here's what it looks like in Sandify, the Sisyphus uploader, and the web interface for my Xyla. It seems to be correctly rectangular and has about the right aspect ratio in Sandify but looks squished after I upload it as if it were forced to the round table style. | @matt2 Seems to me that the option cannot practically be provided when shuffle is invoked A more knotty problem is how to quantify "speed". Maybe radio buttons for 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%...That made sense until I remembered that I have tinkered with Settings and have the speed Set at a value of 5 when the default is (iirc) 1.75. So some allowance would have to be made for such cases. Things like that are the reason I would rather design a UI than write the code. 😀 | |||||
| RE: Cannot connect table to new router :( | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Connectivity | |
| I'm not the best authority when it comes to connectivity issues (but it's the weekend and I'm all you got 😉 - Check to see if you've Set your router to use only the 5ghz band. Since you've had your table a while, its Raspberry Pi may be an earlier model, which only supports 2.4ghz (new routers should still support that). If that's not the issue. Please send an email to [email protected]. | |||||
| RE: 2-ball kit settings - 36" RGBW Table | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Customization | |
| Fora metal coffee table (36" diameter), the configuration Setting is RGBW 2-ball (NOT servo). The radius should be Set to 13.5. The purpose of the ball park piece is to provide a WAy to purposely cleave the tail ball from the tail magnet (which is called "parking"). This happens when you play the special track "detach" and allows you to go from 2-ball play to 1-ball. The ball stays parked until you play "attach". The placement of the ball park is important - follow the directions carefully. | |||||

| RE: New bee question | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| Ah, that "connections". It refers to the connecting path that is required between the end of one track in a playlist, to the beginning of the next track. A brief "Connections 101": All tracks start and end at either the center (Rho = 0) or the edge (Rho = 1). There are four possibilities: "00", "01", "10", and "11" - meaning a track starts at the center and ends at the center; a track starts at the center and ends at the edge; etc. The app will try to make tracks in a playlist start the next tract without any connecting path. This is easy with 01 tracks and 10 tracks, because they can be reversed if needed. But reversing 00 and 11 tracks doesn't help. So, if it's important to you that your playlists have no connecting paths (which look like a single arc between the edge and the center), then the app will show you if there's any connections, and you can manually change the order of tracks to get rid of connections. There's more - (e.g. you can Set 01 and 10 tracks to be non-reversible), but that's for another lesson :). | |||||
