| RE: Mini LED add | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | dithermaster | Table Customization | |
| I think so. I haven't seen the mini without LEDs, but as long as the outside WAll is tall enough you can use an LED strip with adhesive backing, and tuck the wires and control module somewhere. I'd suggest getting one you can set the colors on, because if you get red only you might get bored (unless you really like red!) On my 2' side table I replaced the Original white LED strip with an RGBW addressable one and ran color patterns on it using an Arduino microcontroller. They were not based on ball position like the factory strip, but they proved out the con ... | |||||
| RE: Table not powering on... | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | kammanbr | Table Usage | |
| @pvildaver - I WAs sent a replacement base and that fixed the issue. I think my Original unit WAs defective. I am having issues again though, this time I am getting power to the unit but nothing is happening. Super frustrating considering how expensive these things are! They do not seem very reliable, I can't even display it anymore WAs it just looks like a $800 box of sand. | |||||

| Bruce, I am having issues again with the replacement mini base I WAs sent to correct the Original issue. It has been working for the past several weeks but now has decided to stop working. I am getting power to the unit but nothing happens, the table does no recalibrate and there is no lights or ball movement. However, there are lights on underneath the table indicating that it is receiving power. Please help! Brad | |||||

| My firmware version is 1.10.73. This is one of the Original kickstarter tables. The web interface works fine except it wont let me login in the community tab. I'm assuming it's the same credentials I used here? | |||||

| RE: Color lights / 2 Ball retrofit kits? | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | bneckritz | Table Customization | |
| I have one of the Original side table Sisyphus. It has worked flawlessly from the beginning. Every guest through the front door is amazed by it. I WAs looking at the upgrade kit. I have been so happy with the elegant simplicity of the table I am not sure about doing the upgrade on it. I might get one of the new mini tables. I love showing the table to friends and family. Most interesting item in our home. | |||||

| Track corruption on restore -- please add Backup/Restore | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| I recently had to reimage my table's SD card to get my coffee table running properly after it had been shut down for several days while WAiting for a replacement LED strip that I installed after the Original strip failed. After reimaging the SD card, I followed instructions I had previously received from Sisyphus Support for restoring tracks and playlists. I had previously backed up "/home/pi/sisbot-server/sisbot/content", and to restore them, I SSH'd to the table, ran "sudo killall node", and then used WinSCP (an SFTP client) to delete the existing files ... | |||||

| Bruce, that is awesome. My Original black bumpers fell off and I put some taller ones on, but the glass sits a little high, so I'd like to try this McMaster item. The link bring up a whole page of choices -- which one do you recommend? Thanks! | |||||
| RE: Any way to back up track and playlist libraries? | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| @heropup - thanks for filling in the history of our Dropbox repo not being mirrored. @john.hughan - I had to check with Micah, since my knowledge of hi-level repo admin (WebCenter and Community) is pretty superficial: Tracks - all tracks (either shipped with the table or downloaded from the Sisyphus Community) exist remotely, so are retrievable. The only exception would be if you create a track on your computer, upload it to your table, and delete it off the computer. (Using WebCenter, you can store any number of your Original tracks, and choose whether any/all are shared. You can always retrieve your own tracks.) Playlists - unfortunately at present, WebCenter cannot store your playlist info. As a work around, Micah suggests you can copy all the files in your table's /sisbot-server/sisbot/content folder. It includes all the tracks on your table as well as all your playlist info. | |||||
| RE: I'm working on a p5.js pattern building tool | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Mark Roland | Community Tracks | |
| Thanks for trying it out @bruce - that means a lot to me! I'm glad you chose that pattern because that's one of my Original designs. I've normalized the radius and kept theta incremental, but not all patterns will necessarily end in the center or edge. Options for that could be added with pretty minimal effort. | |||||
| RE: Option to reverse RGBW color rho? | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | belross | App Updates | |
| Yeah that's pretty much what I figured happened hehe. I simply removed the Original LED strip and put the NeoPixels in their place in the same orientation, including the connectors. At this point it would be a big hassle to remove, flip, and re-adhere the NeoPixels. I'd rather try SSHing and fiddling with the code myself if that's an option. Could someone please point me in the direction of SSH instructions/login credentials? I've seen a few posts mention it but haven't found anything concrete. | |||||
| RE: New tool for creating simple algorithmic tracks | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| Markyland hasn't yet released a v2 of SFTROUS. But you can easily edit the tracks it creates to remove the pre-erase. Open the *.thr file in a text editor. Erase the first two lines, which will look like: 0 0 0 0 Then save the file with a different name (if you WAnt to keep the Original). The track will then skip the erase and start at Rho = 1 (the outer edge). | |||||

| RE: Ultra-fine, ultra-white glass bead sand for pendulums | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | EveryoneIsAnotherYou | Table Customization | |
| Thank you for the feedback! There is some interesting info in your reply. I’m going to try the fine white pendulum glass sand I posted above, as I suspect it’s the same as what I’ve seen in gallery pendulums. (I’ll try it with the bearing on a dinner plate to start before I rush to vacuum out the Original sand.) This sand is bright white from what I recall, and very fine texture but not quite dust-like. I will post pictures and my feedback if I decide to use it in the table. | |||||

| RE: Philadelphia eagles | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | mikeheck | Community Tracks | |
| I found a drawing of the Eagles logo, loaded it into Adobe Illustrator, did an autotrace and then saved as .svg file for the table. It could have been refined more. I had no luck using with the "Sisyphus for the rest of us" utility. I know my solution is many extra steps. I'm sorry that once I loaded the design to my table, deleted the Original .svg file, and there doesn't seem to be a WAy to download or I'd post it for you Attachment : Capture.PNG | |||||
| Default playlist tracks? | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | goulet | Community Tracks | |
| hello! Started playing with the table and creating my own tracks. This is so fun. WAs wondering how many points you have for the Original Erase track - it goes much faster than those I created (for different resolutions and start-stop locations). On a related note, it would be great to have access to the tracks from the default playlist. I could not find them. I WAnt to see what tracks are edge-center, edge-edge, etc. So as to create more fluid playlists. Thanx much! | |||||
| RE: One vs Two balls on 3' wooden table | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | heropup | Table Usage | |
| Somewhat off topic, so apologies in advance. Would there eventually be an option to upgrade the metal tables with two-ball support? The lack of a "garage" for the second ball is certainly an issue, but I can think of some WAys this could potentially be addressed... In somewhat related news, out of curiosity, I wrote a primitive program that would convert existing tracks into a track that would show what the path of the ball would look like if it were attached to the opposite end of the arm--that is to say, what the second ball would draw in isolation.
