| RE: Homebrew Accent Table Build | 38 Relevance | 7 years ago | makerbobdesigns | Table Customization | |
| Parking hits the spot! I have decided that this will be a truly mixed materials project. After a while thinking of a good WAy to make the acrylic sides of the drawing area with nice even bends, I thought it would be a good time to explore different materials. Aluminum angle would be easy to snip and bend every 5° or so, but it would be a pain to isolate the LEDs from it. I found some PVC edge trim at the local hardware store that is 1-1/8" tall. A bit shorter than I WAnted, but it will work out. I took my parking "valet" with me, and lo and behold, it fits ... | |||||
| RE: Option to reverse RGBW color rho? | 15 Relevance | 6 years ago | heropup | App Updates | |
| The direction is reversed because your installation of your custom light strip is reversed relative to the direction that the board expects (e.g., clockwise if the board is expecting anti-clockwise). If you installed the NeoPixels strip on the same backing as the Original strip (there is just enough space on the backing to do this), then it needed to be placed in the opposite orientation as the Original strip, because once you flip over the backing so that the NeoPixels strip is on the top half, that reverses the orientation. In other words, if the Original Sisyphus strip is installed anti-clockwise, then the NeoPixels strip needs to be installed clockwise on the same backing, then the entire backing is pulled out and flipped over so that the NeoPixels are now on top of the Original strip. If you do not flip over the backing and leave the NeoPixels below the Original strip, the illumination of the sand field will be uneven because the LEDs are mounted too low. | |||||

| I did this on a computer. I can't imagine doing it on a phone but I'm sure there are iPad tools that could handle the task. I decided to try because I thought it would be a fun learning experience and figured I could knock it out in 20-30 minutes. HAHAHA! Three hours later I WAs on like rev 9 and laughing at my optimism. How I did it: I dropped your image into photoshop, removed the text, and then used the selection tool to make an outline. I stroked that outline onto a solid white background, saved the image as a PNG, and then uploaded it to Sisyphu ... | |||||

| I did flip it upside-down! I just assumed that since you had put them at the top, that WAs the right place for the to be to get the best contrast. 🙂 I could theoretically run them both, but I ended up leaving the Original lights unplugged for three reasons: 1) The lifx z has the ability to do any white that I WAnt, so there WAsn't really a good need for the Original strip, 2) you can see the strip clearly if you are low (i.e. laying on the couch, so I thought that might be distracting, and 3) I would have had to have made my hole even a tiny bit bigger to g ... | |||||

| Yes I’m using the Original erase track. I’ve tried to delete and reinstall it but because it’s an Original I WAs unable. I agree that 25 minutes is a little long. Yes I have the side table. I hope you can help. Have a great day! james | |||||

| Hi. I'm a backer of the Original Kickstarter back in 2016 for a 3ft coffee table, shipped all the WAy across the pond to the UK! Still loving it. I've seen the 2-ball plus RGBW upgrade on the site but it's currently not showing. Do you expect it to be available any time soon? Many thanks and keep those creative juices flowing. | |||||
| Lost Connectivity after flashing new firmware. | 6 Relevance | 6 years ago | richard_saada | Connectivity | |
| ... I can find for identifying what table you have. Is my Original kickstarter table a 36" coffee table? A 36" Servo? I guessed 36" coffee table, but who knows? This would be a useful info to have on the reflash page for when it tells you to set the config file. So I got the chip back in, and rebooted, connected to the table's wifi, did the advanced config to set the table type, and set the information to connect to my home WIFI. The machine restarted, and now I'm stuck. The app can't find it while scanning. My Unifi router shows it's connected and give me ... | |||||
| RE: Grateful Dead Tracks Anywhere? | 6 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| Sorry for the delay - instead of WAiting for my web-devs to add *.lsp to the list of attachments, I just changed the extension (change back to .lsp after downloading). Since I wrote these routines back in ~2000 using much older ACAD versions, and I WAs very into debugging the conversion, there are two routines involved and some couple caveats: 1- This is a two step process: First, create a circle with center at 0,0 and radius of 1 (this is the just to remind you of the boundary of your drawing canvas). Within the circle, put/draw your artwork consisting of ... | |||||
| RE: Adding colored LEDs | 6 Relevance | 8 years ago | heropup | Table Customization | |
| ... This WAs the hard part, because you don't WAnt to nick the cable as you're drilling. While working, it helps to peel the fabric cover away and temporarily hold the corners down using tape. Then I drilled out a hole just large enough to pass the LIFX Z connector. The result WAs fairly clean (but I didn't take photos). It is also superior to the WAy I modified the end table, since the drilling of the hole allows enough space for both connector cables to thread through, so both the Original and LIFX strips are controllable. I thought about reapplying sil ... | |||||

| I think you'll be pleased to know I found a solution for you! I have included 2 python scripts in the Original blend file. I basically joined all your tracks into one, converted to CSV, then converted to SVG.It works great and when uploaded to the Sisyphus, the animation works!I will attach the file next. | glass spacers | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | pjhaynes | Table Customization | |
| I have one of the Original kickstarter coffee tables. It had little black adhesive-backed spacers between the table and the glass. They fell off very quickly. Did you ever come up with a good solution? My replacement spacers recently fell off too and I would love to have a good, more permanent solution. | |||||
| RE: Acrylic top for table? | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Patti | Table Customization | |
| That's good to know, thanks! I live in a WArehouse loft and my floors are the Original century-old concrete. In the 20 years that I've lived here I've shattered quite a lot of stuff and I occasionally find random bits of glass in odd locations. I guarantee that my handling a glass tabletop regularly would become a matter of "When?" rather than "If?" I will continue experimenting. | |||||
| RE: "erase track" before actual track | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| Yes, this is a known issue. The "erase" track is special - it runs 3x the speed of other tracks. And while it's possible to create a track that is the same as "erase" and even save it as a track called "erase" - only the Original erase has the 3x speed built in. The other issue is that the utility "Sisyphus For The Rest Of Us" (SFTROU) has an option for adding a "pre-erase" before the tracks it generates. Since it is just a long move between two polar points and not the true "erase" track, it runs at normal speed. | |||||
| RE: Bearing in theta motor damaged | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| ... can handle it :). Please contact our support team - [email protected]. They can set you up with either the full Sisbot swap or just the motor. Make sure they know the age of your table and size - we've also changed the shape of the Sisbot's aluminum composite plate, and the Theta motor now comes with the pulley permanently attached. If you WAnt only the motor, we have to be careful to make sure the new motor will fit correctly in your Original plate at the correct height. Bruce | |||||
| Feature request and erase question | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Patti | Table Customization | |
| I'm not sure which category is the right one for this but this is my best guess. I like to live-DJ my table fairly often rather than constructing playlists. I would love it if I could see an indication of the 0-1 nature of each track both in the track list and on the detail screen that I get when I click a specific track. I can often guess about whether a track starts at 0 or 1 or is reversible, but having something like "01R" or "11" would make this a lot easier. In a similar vein, I have my own EraseIn and EraseOut tracks that just send the ball to the rail or the center and then do an erase. Can I set them to run at the speed of the Original erase track? Intuitively it looks like I can edit the status.json file and bump up the vel setting but I'd rather not break something by screwing around too far beyond the bounds of my knowledge. | |||||
| RE: Could I get credit for my track. | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| OK - talked it over with our staff and we've decided the following: Your Original track (with credits) will be swapped into the March playlist The copy will be deleted Our dev team is going to create an automated filter that will check newly uploaded tracks against existing - and disallow if duplication is detected This hasn't been a common problem - but I understand how it feels to be copied without attribution. Our current process of vetting is simply a check for file compatibility and screening for objectionable content - which is why this and other duplications would be missed. Of course, things may get thorny and complicated - the track we're talking about is a reproduction of a video game character, probably made using SFTROU. As more people join in creating and sharing tracks, such issues are bound to arise. I encourage input from the Community to guide the evolution of how to handle such matters. | |||||
| RE: WinTopo is Nagging Me About a License | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |

| RE: In and out for no reason | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | matt2 | App Usage | |
| I think I know what this one is, there WAs a bug in a past release that would cause this behavior. Tracks that have more points than will appear on a table are truncated and resaved. But, the bug WAs: when resaving, it saved an extra vert in it that is dynamically added to ensure the ball starts at the point it should (at the center, or at the periphery). The fix is that you should delete and redownload the track in your picture (C WArp 3B, I believe). All of the Original tracks are available in the Community section, Sisyphus Originals.
