Sorry yes the App talks to the Sisyphus APIs on standard port 80 (Http default) even though the wen and app interface is on port 3001. The Setup for the Set speed and brightness is better, I worked out the API calls better when I had a second look and had to post actual data to the APIs so play and pause using the Post data for the Set brightness should work better.
... end) as they are added - and if a connector will be added. You can change the order of tracks in a playlist by editing the playlist and hovering over a track, then dragging it.
The other thing to be aware of is that tracks can be Set to "not reversible". Normally, "01" and "10" tracks are automatically reversed as needed to avoid connector lines. But not if the track is Set to non-reversible. You can change the Setting by clicking on a track (in the library) and viewing its Settings.
Lastly - when you play a playlist, if you choose "shuffle" it will do it ...
... spins. But I do get assigned an IP address.IP Address: 169.254.51.61Subnet Mask: 255.255.0.0
With the IP Configuration Set to ManualThis WAs working before, but now it wont let me save the updates.
The Sisyphus app is stuck at "Waiting for WiFi Connection..." and never does anything else, even after being left open and next to the table for several minutes.
I tried the IP addresses 192.168.42.1 and 169.254.51.1 in the browser, while trying to be connected to the Sisyphus-Jeff Wi-Fi and they do not resolve either.
Thanks Ray. Some notes on your document:
This paragraph: "All Files must start with a 0,0 or 0,1 position. The end pair of numbers in the file must end with rho value opposite of the rho value in the first pair (if you start with a 0,0 you end with a theta, 0)" says three different and conflicting things. None of them are true. In fact, you must start with rho equal to 0 or 1. The theta values don't matter. The initial theta is treated as a "starting theta" and all subsequent thetas are relative to it. The ending theta does not need to be 0 or the starting theta.
This note "There are 2 'types' of instructions that the table can understand based on the difference between the theta values in the next Set of instructions in the data Set." is also not strictly true. The table only has one type of instruction, and that's a theta, rho pair. It moves that ball to that new position, interpolating in polar coordinates to get there. That's all. There isn't anything special about an erase (except the filename, which makes it run faster).
In my path generators some of them think in polar but convert to cartesian, and then all of them subdivide cartesian lines or bezier segments down until they are small enough and then output them as .thr polar. In that backend I also look for "too small" of polar movements and remove points to keep file sizes down. The values I use for cartesian subdivison and polar point removal are tuned to not make artifacts, but also not make too big of file.
... along the WAy, the table dropped off my home network and couldn't be found / would have trouble being found via browser or app. Ultimately, I have had to unplug the table altogether to get it back on the network. Often when the browser or app would be searching for the table, it would stutter again, but usually once it connected it would behave normally.
I always assumed this WAs just standard behavior (I see the same kind of pausing of movement when uploading tracks), but now it is stuttering all the time even when I am not trying to access it via browser ...
Correct, I have the start time Set to when Night Mode should start (and the table should turn off). I've only connected to my table with the phone App so far, when I first Set it up the time WAs correct but something happened since to make it change. I will try shifting the start/stop time to compensate as a temporary solution for now.
If changing to the color and 2 ball upgrade, will all of the existing company available programs exist (and/or need to be upgraded?) so that the 2 balls work independently for all programs?
If other members create programs/ shows , can they upgrade theirs to 2 ball? Or do they need to be redone for 2 ball Solo action?
Thanks for the information.
I have a few images by Tyler foust that would be awesome to convert but the desktop and Online ones both fail to correctly convert them. it would be awesome to find these on the community tab one day!

Bruce, thank you so much for your assistance I love this machine. I seen this years ago and always WAnted one. I WAs looking on Touch of Modern and look there it WAs. So I went Online and purchased it. This is a beautiful product very relaxing and entertaining at the same time. Looking forward to hearing more about the arrangements and please let me know what I need to do on my end. Again thank you for your assistance and in resolving my issue. Have a blessed and happy day.

... for the coffee table, (and Of Course love Sisy) but I’m still struggling with figuring out the Online pieces. So, what does “connections” mean, and what does it do? And really, some tracks run 2.5 DAYS at half-speed, or am I doing something wrong? What the heck does the microphone mean? Being old, I hesitate to push buttons when I’m unsure of the result. (Did that once in my niece’s bathroom…. let’s just say it WAs too fancy for me.). I could keep going, but truly think I’m just missing some manual or website connection that explains all the details ...
I just published a release that now exports patterns as Theta-Rho .thr files. Online at Be sure to select "Polar" for the Format at the top of the page.
If anyone is up for testing it out or providing feedback I'd be happy to hear it.
What other folks have done is to post their tracks Online, and then give Sisyphus Industries permission to mirror them in their read-only dropbox (for example, mine are at I don't know much about the "Reddit area" but maybe it could work as well. Someday the "Community" functionality will work as sharing will be easier for both the creators and the consumers.
Good Morning,I am new to this and believe that my girlfriend has somehow frozen up her table. I have attempted all of the suggested Online fixes so I am about to try digging in a little further.I am hoping that the hard-wired Ethernet driver is enabled and plan on using PuTTY to connect. From reading thru this blog, it looks like I have everything that I need except the password.Would you mind passing it along...Thank You,Ted
Thanks, Matt! I re-uploaded the SVG and made sure to Set the XYLA tag, but the resulting file seems to crop only the top half of the design (see attached screenshot).
It also seems to still put the design inside a circle instead of letting it fill out the full rectangle.

Hi Chris,
Sounds like your strip has failed. Please contact our support team, and they will Set you up a new replacement.
Bruce
@robertgarvinsn yeah! so its all with the two python scripts I wrote for you, they run completely within blender you just gotta Set the paths.here's a video!

David,
The path taken by the ball between points is a linear interpolation in polar coordinates. Which generally means an arc of some kind. So if your intention is a straight line, you'll need to use many points. In my path generation code, I subdivide lines until they are "small enough" (a balance between noticeable and large file sizes).
The "default" paths ("factory" paths) were all created by artist Bruce Shapiro over the many years he has been making custom Sisyphus tables. The "community" tracks have been made by many folks (including me). Welcome to the group; I look forward to seeing what you make!
All of the outside contributions are using custom code. Some folks have put their code Online (e.g., Some just share the results.
I just got my Sisyphus Xyla — thanks so much for a gorgeous table!
I'm using Sandify to create my first track. As a guess, I Set the following dimensions for the machine:
Type: Rectangular
Min x (mm): 100
Max x (mm): 1350
Min y (mm): 100
Max y (mm): 650
However, when I export either to THR format or SVG format, when I go to upload the track to , the result seems to assume I'm using the older round table style, even if I select the "XYLA" tag.
Here's what it looks like in Sandify, the Sisyphus uploader, and the web interface for my Xyla. It seems to be correctly rectangular and has about the right aspect ratio in Sandify but looks squished after I upload it as if it were forced to the round table style.
