| ... a cheap square one myself. it has a 1m x 1m size (80cmx80cm viewable sand).I will send you the images of the machine when it is finished. I used a 6mm mirror plate as the sand support surface and used fine baking soda as sand but I have 1. noise when the ball (16mm) is rolling and 2. the ball movement is not as smooth as the ones in the Sisyphus Table Trailers. In search for a solution I found this forum and this post. So I WAnt to kindly ask if it is possible for you to tell me what is used as sand support surface and what type of sand (exact size, shape ... | |||||

| My guess is that you might have some cumulative position error (tiny errors that add up). This is more likely to happen if you run at high speeds. We're working on some improvements to the motion control code, that should lessen this likelihood - but in the mean time, you can move (or remove) the plastic ball park by carefully loosening it by prying it up with a non-sharp flat tool (butter knife?). It's held in Place by strong double-stick tape. | |||||
| Using app before table arrives? | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | gcleary425 | App Usage | |
| Hello, i have Placed a order for a coffee table and am excited to start using it when it arrives. Is there a WAy to build playlist, explore tracks, or learn the ui of the app before my table arrives? I downloaded the app and it appears that without connecting to a device that the app has a roadblock. Also if the app is a dead end until connected, is there a web based WAy to do build Playlist or view available tracks? And lastly, is there a Place for users to share their favorite playlist or tracks with each other. Is there a WAy to sort tracks for "most ... | |||||

| I recently had to reimage my table's SD card to get my coffee table running properly after it had been shut down for several days while WAiting for a replacement LED strip that I installed after the original strip failed. After reimaging the SD card, I followed instructions I had previously received from Sisyphus Support for restoring tracks and playlists. I had previously backed up "/home/pi/sisbot-server/sisbot/content", and to restore them, I SSH'd to the table, ran "sudo killall node", and then used WinSCP (an SFTP client) to delete the existing files ... | |||||

| @Andrewstatham - Sorry to hear that you've had trouble with your new table. We're doing our best to prevent software crashes during firmware upgrades (and evidently, track downloads, in your case). We have a new version that we're testing now to prevent just such occurrences. I am optimistic that re-imaging your SD card will fix things - but in the future, the first Place to go if you're having trouble is our support desk. I tried probing the metal component with a zip-tie to see if it WAs just a soldering issue, like something had come lose, but it didn't produce the same effect as putting my finger on top of it. | My phone app doesn't recognize my table any more. I have deleted the app and re-installed it and have followed the directions to reset the table but never did see a Place to reset it to factory settings. I have version 1.10.25 of the firmware. I would like to be able to access the table. Since I can't control the timer since it doesn't recognize the table, it's turning off part of the day and then coming on. Anyone got any suggestions to fix this situation? Thx | |||||
| RE: Sisbot API | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | matt2 | Other Development | |
| Holger, A couple things with your request: The address you wrote above has a misspelling of "/3002" in it (it should have a colon before 3002). The correct address would either be "http://XX.XX.XX.XX/sisbot/play" or "http://XX.XX.XX.XX:3002/sisbot/play". The port number is optional as the proxy server will direct it to the right Place. The other important difference is the API expects a POST request. You would need to use a form, Ajax, or some other means (Postman, as Joel notes above) besides the browser address bar. There is no authentication needed. Hope that helps. Let me know if you need more assistance. Matt | |||||

| Yeah that's pretty much what I figured happened hehe. I simply removed the original LED strip and put the NeoPixels in their Place in the same orientation, including the connectors. At this point it would be a big hassle to remove, flip, and re-adhere the NeoPixels. I'd rather try SSHing and fiddling with the code myself if that's an option. Could someone please point me in the direction of SSH instructions/login credentials? I've seen a few posts mention it but haven't found anything concrete. | |||||
| RE: Table stuck after trying to update to firmware 1.10.73.... | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| I forgot to update this. But two techs from Sisyphus reached out to me and even after spending a couple of hours trying to diagnose and manually fix the problem in a remote controlled SSH session to the table, there WAsn't any change, and finally they got to the point where they said they weren't even sure what to investigate next as a possible underlying cause. So we ended up backing up the folder on the table that contained my tracks and playlists, then reimaging the SD card using the instructions on the Sisyphus website. That DID get the table working ag ... | |||||
| Which arm/magnet to use?? | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Lemmuhj | Table Usage | |
| Dont know how else to describe it. Ive had the main ball get dislocated from the magnet on certain tracks. I've had to physically lift the glass and reset the ball where i THINK its supposed to go so it can get picked back up by the main magnet. After running a few tracks, especially "erase", i notice the speed is like 10x faster, where it almost sprays the sand instead of setting the usual defined tight lines. I also notice that a few of the tracks dont match the design in the track listing or it even creates it in half the size. I took it upon myself to look under the table and locate the other magnet of the arm and Place the ball there...it works as normal now...how can i avoid all of this and have the correct magnet pick up the ball? Hope this makes sense or resonates with others because its a pain in the A$$ | |||||
| RE: New table stuck on "HOMING YOUR TABLE" | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bev | Table Usage | |
| Hi Ben, Sorry to hear your new table isn't working properly. It sounds like there is a problem with the home sensor (when the table boots up, the first thing it does is find "home" - first the rotation axis, then the linear). Since you can see the arm rotating, the motor is working - but the sensor is not responding when a tiny "target magnet" passes by it. Try this: Unplug the table. Look under and find the "SisBotBoard" (square circuit board). Check the connectors attached to it by tugging gently - especially the ones with 2 white and 1 black wire (these go to the Theta and Rho sensors). Even if they're not loose, reseat them by depressing the tiny plastic latch and pulling. Then reconnect by pushing in until you hear / feel a click. Neither pulling out or pushing in should require much force. Then try repowering the table. Fingers crossed... Bruce ps- if this doesn't work, follow the 3-wire cables to the two sensors and see if there is anything obvious (they should be firmly glued in Place on the plate that holds the motors). Please contact our service desk if these directions don't work). | |||||

Also check out "Zen Table" by Simon Hallam, he WAs one of the first ones to commercialize the concept a few years before Sisyphus, but he used a cartesian design. We believe SCARA is superior to both cartesian and polar and a much more elegant solution that opens the door to very unique possibilities, like our Stelle design, which would be impossible with either one of the other mechanism types. | I'm running the latest firmware 1.10.54 and I noticed tonight that my table went to sleep at 11:00pm PT, exactly 1h before its set sleep time of midnight. As daylight savings time just occurred ("spring forward, fall back") I think the table firmware isn't correctly honoring the sleep time and is setting my table to sleep 60 minutes (on the dot) prior to the set sleep time. Does the table also sync with an Internet time server? I'm not even seeing a Place where I could set the time or timezone if I WAnted to. | |||||

| ... But WArranty is 1 year for everything except wood tables - which is 2 years. I would suggest checking the 2-wire cable which connects the LED string to the SisBotBoard under the table. If you follow it back (from the LEDs to the SBB) you will find a connection near the LED string and another where it attaches to the SBB. Try disconnecting and reconnecting them. If that doesn't help, please start a support ticket at the above email address. We'll get it fixed ASAP. | |||||
