| RE: Welcome to the Sisyphus Community forum! | 5 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Announcements | |
| @redpillbtc - Welcome to our Community! This is the right Place to connect with Sisyphus users. We are a growing group of people with a wide range of skills and talents who spend time with Sisyphus, and WAnt to share what we've learned, created, or wondered about. Our subreddit pre-dates this forum, and is also a Place you might WAnt to check out. Take a look at some topic threads - you will find a wealth of info on many aspects of using Sisyphus, including how to create content for it. | |||||
| RE: Control multiple tables on multiple wifi networks from app - Y/N? | 5 Relevance | 7 years ago | Bruce | App Usage | |
| Glad you like 'em! No need to do anything special - just make sure your phone is on the WiFi that the table is connected to. Since you have one table in each Place - and I'm assuming you have got each table on its respective WiFi - as long as your phone auto-connects to the trusted WiFi it recognizes, when you open the app it will scan for a Sisyphus and only find the one on that WiFi. If you ever move them so they're in the same Place (and WiFi), then when it scans, it will find both and you will have to choose, within the app, which you WAnt to connect to. | |||||
| How do we share tracks we create in your DropBox area? | 5 Relevance | 7 years ago | crsolomon | Community Tracks | |
| I have made a few tracks and I know there is a general repository for the publicly shared ones in your DropBox area. I can download them easily but I see no facility for creating a new folder to Place my tracks into. How do we Place them for public sharing? Or use the Reddit area? I'll attach a file that I made as an example. Attachment : sun-moon.thr | |||||
| Wood Base Table Update Alert | 5 Relevance | 7 years ago | MicahR | Beta releases and bugs | |
| ... the update will complete and the table will reboot. As soon the ball begins to move UNPLUG your table. WAit 30 seconds and plug the table back. You can now operate the table as desired. What may happen if you do not power-cycle your table after the update - The ball will fail to return to the center and begin operating in the wrong position. This is likely to result in one of the scenarios below: The motors will fault, showing a notification that there WAs a hardware failure. If this does happen, you do not need to worry about damage to your table. Just ... | |||||
| RE: Drinks on the table | 3 Relevance | 2 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| @jillbolshawgmail-com Sorry , I should have mentioned that the full-seal gasket WAs a design modification we made last year. It accompanied another design change: replacing the separate LED shade ring for a black-out silk screened directly on the outer area of the glass. The gasket doesn't fit correctly with the shade ring in Place. I would emphasize -- although spilled liquids that make it to the edge of glass can wick around the edge, but generally do not go beyond the top of the powder coated metal frame. As long as you clean the spill reasonably soon aft ... | |||||
| RE: Location of Community Tracks | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| Sorry - we're doing some maintenance work on Webcenter, which is evidently causing the slow down. Should be fully back up on Monday. Webcenter is the only Place to get Community tracks. The upload tracks from your local machine is only available for track files on that machine. | |||||
| RE: Information about Rho Start/Endion ! | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | App Usage | |
| @ranord50 Just spoke with our dev - currently, the only Place the start/end rho positions are show is while editing a playlist. Next firmware update will add this in individual track info. | |||||
| RE: Connecting to Sisyphus via SSH | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | Sergeantpup | Connectivity | |
| Hello, I'd like to connect my Sisyphus to my hubitat so I can dynamically control the lighting and connect to Alexa. I think I'm in the right Place to request a password to connect directly to the device. Can you assist me with this information, please? | |||||
| Solution to berm concerns | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | adambrower | Table Usage | |
| If occasionally the field seems thin toward the berm, rather than trying to craft a rho>1 track that returns some sand to the field, and instead of wrestling with the glass on the 36" table, simply Place a small bit of stainless bar stock on the cloth, and use a ~25lb magnet to manually plow some sand back to the field. I cover the magnet with cheescloth to avoid scratches. (Don't forget to pull the bar stock well clear of the berm when you're done). It only took me 3 months to figure that out! | |||||
| RE: Comet Primary Light Width Control | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Other Development | |
| @stevetheevans - This is the right Place for feature requests! We haven't brought more lighting controls out to the interface yet, but Matt (our dev) set up the lighting control code (Python) so that it is relatively easy to experiment with. If you or others are interested, I will have him write up some short instructions (it involves connecting to the Raspberry Pi, navigating to where this code is, and modifying parameters). | |||||
| 3D Printed Glass Bumper Clips | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | Jeff V | Table Customization | |
| ... coming up, I designed a 3D-printable clip to hold aftermarket bumpers in Place along the rim. I'm using the "50 pcs 8.5mm X 2.5mm special shape" bumpers from this $9 318 piece set. These bumpers are $9 for 50 ($0.17 each, or $0.03 each if you include the value of the other bumpers included). It takes about 18 minutes to print 6 of them on my printer. I printed them in black PLA-CF. They will be a little tight when you re-insert the wood ring. I WAs just able to press-fit them with the thinner side between the inner surface of the rim and the wood ring. I ... | |||||
| Someone please make more TILE tracks | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | Joseph Aga | Community Tracks | |
| Hi everyone, please forgive me if this is not the Place for this. I’m a new owner and I love my table so much… I cannot stop raving about it to everyone I know. It is everything I could’ve hoped for. The only thing I WAnt more of are the TILE type tracks. It WAs these tracks like (FANCYTILES) that took me over the edge on my decision to purchase. They are my favorite but as of now there’s only a few that I can find and nothing else much like FANCY TILES. I WAnt more of those. Lots more! If you know how to make them, please do and Thank you in so much ... | |||||
| RE: Removing ball hide plastic | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| Yes, you can remove it. But it's stuck in Place by relatively tenacious double sided tape, so use a thin non-pointed blade (butter knife) to pry it up around the edges, working slowly around the plastic edge, while firmly pressing down on the beige cushion fabric so it doesn't come up with the plastic. Also, you can change the configuration of your table so it won't bother to do the parking routine when it boots up. You can change the configuration by going to Settings / Advanced, then tap the "Advanced" banner at the top 7 times, which will then open the "expert settings". Look down the list of current info on your table, and note the Configuration. Scroll down to "Sisyphus settings >" and choose the same configuration, but without "2ball" in its name. | |||||
| RE: Table is doing odd things | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bev | Table Usage | |
| Do you have a second ball? This is just a hunch, but the errant drawing doesn't look haphazard - there are definitely "related features" - which makes me suspect that the head ball got picked up by the tail magnet. So what you're currently seeing are inside-out version of tracks. To confirm this, reboot your table (either form the app or by power cycling). The ball should go to the center, but I predict it will go to the edge. If I'm right, you'll need to take off the glass, pickup the ball and Place it near the center, where you'll feel the head magnet grab it. If I'm wrong, please contact our support staff. Bruce | |||||
| Comet Primary Light Width Control | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | SteveTheEvans | Other Development | |
| The Comet lighting mode is nice, but due to the very wide spread of primary LEDs, and actual comet look is not what we get. Having a number of LEDs (or arc size in degrees) control for the primary color would get a real comet look when set to a single LED. BTW, is there a better WAy/place to bring up new features? | |||||
| RE: Ball Bearing Magnetic Properties | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | SteveTheEvans | Table Customization | |
| @patti Well, I had just ordered these on amazon because it WAs so frustrating trying to find 400 grade ball bears, I thought, "What the heck for $10?" I canceled the order but it might be too late. Where the heck is a good Place to get an assortment of balls that will work? I WAnt to try smaller ones than are offered on the sisyphus-industries.com site. Home Depot doesn't say what grade the balls are. And all the industrial B2B sites deal in quantity. | |||||
| RE: Ball Bearing Magnetic Properties | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Customization | |
| @stevetheevans - Pretty much any ferromagnetic object you Place over the magnet will get pulled through the sand. Spheres are much nicer (IMO) because they roll (as opposed to skidding). As far as material, all non-stainless alloys ("carbon steels") will work, and you really don't need bearings that are high precision (closer to a perfect sphere) or hardened. And you're partially correct about stainless - many alloys are very weakly attracted to a magnet (300-series) - but 400-series are ferromagnetic and work fine. Home Depot carries a small variety of single ball bearings in their specialty fastener section. | |||||
| RE: Table not powering on... | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| @kris9209 - I have no idea what the issue WAs, other than their Mini WAs not powering on. The key info from this thread is that this forum is not the Place for troubleshooting table / Mini problems. We have a great support team (in-house), and take great pride in our support track record. Once again: please contact our support desk for help if your table / Mini is not working properly. | |||||

| ... prototype, but actually got started ten years earlier, working on a different drawing machine that also had no pen-up ability - the first Eggbot. My goal then - creating single, continuous paths that look cool both while being drawn and when completed - remains the same now. Since I WAs not formally trained as an artist, I never learned to draw by hand skillfully. But I took to early 2D CAD software quickly, and soon WAs able to control the "pen" using simple algorithms (a.k.a. turtle graphics). Eventually, AutoCAD became my main tool. Most of the routines ... | |||||
| RE: Lights flash twice but won't turn on after | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| Understand your frustration - worry not - we'll get your table working again. First though, I WAnt to stress that this forum is not the Place for troubleshooting. We have an expert support team for that - here. The likely problem you have with the new image, is that you have not changed the configuration to match the table you have. The downloadable image is configured for a side table with RGBW LEDs. I'm guessing you have white LEDs and not a side table. To change your configuration to the correct one, follow the steps in this article (the last part). If ... | |||||
