| RE: Strange behavior after factory resets | 4 Relevance | 6 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| Thanks for the reply Matt. I just received this table last week though, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't have had the 2BallDemo playlist out of the Box, or why I had the Fox1warp1 track. Maybe the Sisbot on my table WAs pre-loaded a long time ago? I didn't realize that the iOS app stored some client-side settings. I thought it WAs essentially a view into an entirely table-hosted UI given that when I go to the table's IP on my PC's web browser, I see virtually the same interface, and I can even browse the Community from there without having to log in on the ... | |||||

Curved gives me two text Boxes to fill, whereas Spiral only gives me one, but in all cases, I get that error regardless of whether I enter a single character or enough characters to raise the line length value to near maximum. I'm WAiting to make sure the "echo" area lower in the interface updates based on what I typed before clicking "Draw preview first", but I can't avoid that error. What am I doing wrong?

On the firmware, we do not auto update. However, a couple possible explanations occurred to me. When loading the app it always checks for an update and prompts you to update. Is it possible this WAs clicked through without fully reading? Are there any others in your residence connecting to the table that may have triggered an update inadvertently or otherwise? | I am sometimes able to connect to sysiphus, but most of the time it is losing connection to my router. It's a Fritz!Box 7362 at 2.4GHz and is using channel 13. I know that channel 13 isn't used everywhere in the world. Is that a problem for Sisyphus?

| It is probable that we would be able to ship a Mini with a table in the same Box. The Kangaroo option! You should ship it down under first. And when anyone orders a big table they could add a mini as an optional add-on. I think you've really hit on something here! | |||||

| @markneale - I can confirm that both colored lighting and 2-ball options will be available for all size tables and Minis, and the target is 6 months (when the first Minis ship). We haven't firmed up pricing yet though - still WAiting for samples and a few tests to be run. It is probable that we would be able to ship a Mini with a table in the same Box. | |||||

| Posted @n8ajz62. Have you run them all? I noticed they don't start and end fully at the center or edge (r=0 or 1). Hit the "Force Endpoints " button in the Polar Machine Box. I think our program auto-forces this, but it's best to put them in the file. ps - some of those look pretty interesting - looking forward to running them! | |||||

| I have made a few more tracks - including an improved version of my sun moon that you already posted. If you can put them into the shared dropbox - I will thank you very much. And you have permission to share them with all. I've also finally figured out the polar reading quirks of your table and made my own tools to generate .thr files from Cartesian coordinate images. The only thing I will say is that the area around the 0 0 of the table is very weird and avoiding it in images is really necessary - it does not play nice there at all. oh - and this Box only lets me deposit one file - how do I send the thr and jpg of several files to you? | Loving the table so far! I would love it if the app had a tick-box option to run an erase track between each track, as many tracks looks best on a groomed canvas. Even better would be an option to run that erase track at high-speed, and then resume the standard chosen speed for the art track. As others have probably commented, the ability to sort tracks in a playlist and insert tracks (such as the erase track) would be very helpful, as well as the ability to specify a pause duration of NNN minutes. | |||||

| Table arrived via FedEx. The driver literally rolled the Box onto the porch and up to the door! Lord only knows how this poor table suffered on the trip! When I ran the erase program the table ran fine until it got to the outer reaches and then the ball stopped and the table began a loud chattering. It sounded like it WAs hanging up on something. Found that one of the supports for the main plate WAs bent. Bent it downward a few mm and the table has run fine for an erase cycle and now a drawing. Just an FYI. | |||||

| I recently received a new 3-foot table from the April preorder, and it is a much more impressive experience than the end table! That said, I discovered that the Sisbot moved during shipping, an issue I did not discover until I tried running the table and found that the Sisbot arm WAs striking the gear on the off-axis motor because there WAs not enough clearance. More precisely, when I ran the Erase pattern, I found that the table worked fine for about two-thirds of the radius, but when it reached a particular angle and distance away from the origin, sudden ... | |||||

| @matt2 Seems to me that the option cannot practically be provided when shuffle is invoked A more knotty problem is how to quantify "speed". Maybe radio buttons for 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%...That made sense until I remembered that I have tinkered with Settings and have the speed set at a value of 5 when the default is (iirc) 1.75. So some allowance would have to be made for such cases. Things like that are the reason I would rather design a UI than write the code. 😀 | |||||

| Hi Mark On the html download from git, I'm guessing what you did WAs try to right click on one of the .thr files in the git hub file listing, and click save as. Unfortunately, what that did WAs send you to the html link, and not the file itself. I suggest the following. Click on the .thr file link, which will open a page showing a lot of numbers in one frame, and on the right of that frame you'll see "Raw/Blame/History". Click raw which will open the file and you can "save as" from there. That should get you a good .thr file without having to know how ... | |||||
