| Sisbot API | 5 Relevance | 8 years ago | safepassagedesign | Other Development | |
| I'll pencil in some of the API's as I research them. Please let me know if any of these appear to be in error. Joel For all of these URLs, I'm omitting the DNS or IP address prefix which would look something like this 192.168.1.13/sisbot/play. Also note that the proxy at 80 for forward over to the actual sisbot listener at 3002. Without proxy this would look like 192.168.1.13:3002/sisbot/play You MUST replace the 192.168.1.13 with whatever IP or DNS you can reach your table at on your home router. You CAN keep the :3002 port or use with no port specifier on the default port 80 for each one of the URL.s Here's the link to the docs. | |||||

| I have a 3 foot table, with occasional connection "quirks". I'm trying to identify the source of the issue, both to make my family happier and to help others do the same. I think that part of my problem is that the antenna is on the RPi board itself. I'm reasonably sure this is an omni-directional chip antenna, but it is going to be influenced by the structure of the table, and especially by any metal parts. It likely does not help that the direct line of sight from my table's RPi to the nearest access point passes directly through the metal band around the rim of the table. (The part that supports the outside veneer band.) I know the top most veneer ring is glued to plexiglass, and unless someone decided to aluminize it, that, the wood, and the glue would be nearly transparent to 2.4 GHz. The RPi is attached to the underside of the plate that holds the sisbot's motors and the rest of the electronics. I suspect from photographs of the sisbot removed from the table that plate is aluminum. If so, that would likely be a reflector at 2.4 GHz, and limit the field of view of the antenna by pointing the signal generally towards the floor. What is the sand tray made of? I know it can't be anything ferromagnetic or the whole thing wouldn't work at all. My WiFi is provided by a collection of Ubiquity Unifi AP and AP-AC-Lite access points. I can always add one more if I can find the right place to put it... Any thoughts? | |||||
| RE: Cannot connect to Sisyphus wifi, fails to find ip | 4 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Connectivity | |
| @mzats - Just discussed your issue during our weekly support meeting. Couple questions: Despite being unable to connect, is the table running? Do you have RGBW lighting? If yes, then you definitely have a reset button - on the small "piggyback" circuit board attached to the Raspberry Pi (green circuit board). If no reset button, we suspect your firmware is corrupted - the fix being either re-imaging your SD card, or if you prefer, we will send out replacement. Here are the directions for re-imaging the card. Or please contact our support desk if you prefer the SD card to be sent out. | |||||

| Hello and thanks for sharing this tip. I have just received my Mini Executive and found exact similar issue. I am going to test this possible fix now and let you know UPDATE: this is indeed fixing this IP issue. I WAs not able to connect at the first reboot. For some reason, once connected to the hotspot, when trying to connect to my Internet it did not find my router at the beginning. I had to reboot once again and forget all previous connections to then be able to reconnect to the hotspot and find my router in a list. | |||||
| Apostrophe in table name prevents connecting? | 4 Relevance | 7 years ago | RetiredGuy | Connectivity | |
| I have had my table for 4 days and it has been working fine. I have been able to connect both through the iOS app and through Chrome on my Mac. I recently renamed my table from “Sisyphus” to “Doug’s Sisyphus” and have been unable to communicate with it since. I have tried powering down my network and then the Sisyphus network appears on both the iPhone and Mac, but neither the iOS app or the browser can find the table. I have reseated all of the cables. The power supply has a steady blue light. The red light on Raspberry Pi board is on steady. The Green LEDs on the Light Board are as follows: 12v solid; 3.3v solid; first USB blinking; second USB off. What should I try next? | |||||

| Thanks, Matt! I re-uploaded the SVG and made sure to set the XYLA tag, but the resulting file seems to crop only the top half of the Design (see attached screenshot). It also seems to still put the Design inside a circle instead of letting it fill out the full rectangle. Attachment : Screenshot-2024-06-10-at-5.33.06 PM.png | |||||

| @jillbolshawgmail-com Sorry , I should have mentioned that the full-seal gasket WAs a Design modification we made last year. It accompanied another Design change: replacing the separate LED shade ring for a black-out silk screened directly on the outer area of the glass. The gasket doesn't fit correctly with the shade ring in place. I would emphasize -- although spilled liquids that make it to the edge of glass can wick around the edge, but generally do not go beyond the top of the powder coated metal frame. As long as you clean the spill reasonably soon aft ... | |||||

| I've been experimenting with Sandify, and it's very rewarding as a quick on-ramp to pattern Design. However, I'm interested in complex artworks such as @bruce's brilliant FoxWarp2, and there is no immediately obvious WAy to emulate a Design like FoxWarp2 with the Sandify scripts (although maybe I just haven't spent enough time with them). Can @bruce tell us what platform(s) or methods he uses to create his works? I can imagine, for instance, a spreadsheet that employs functions that will spit out a list of x/y coordinates. | |||||

All I can think of is I must have been sloppy with the whole save as steps above and it came through as an HTML download. All seems well again - the files uploaded to the table without issue. I know to check them now in the txt editor beforehand just to make sure. Sorry, guess I am pretty Green at downloading code files from Github. Appreciate the help from the community! Mark

| Hi Mark On the html download from git, I'm guessing what you did WAs try to right click on one of the .thr files in the git hub file listing, and click save as. Unfortunately, what that did WAs send you to the html link, and not the file itself. I suggest the following. Click on the .thr file link, which will open a page showing a lot of numbers in one frame, and on the right of that frame you'll see "Raw/Blame/History". Click raw which will open the file and you can "save as" from there. That should get you a good .thr file without having to know how ... | |||||

Also check out "Zen Table" by Simon Hallam, he WAs one of the first ones to commercialize the concept a few years before Sisyphus, but he used a cartesian Design. We believe SCARA is superior to both cartesian and polar and a much more elegant solution that opens the door to very unique possibilities, like our Stelle Design, which would be impossible with either one of the other mechanism types. This WAs one of the responses to the comments in the campaign, and I found it a bit disingenuous, to say the least, because the ...

| Is there anyone out here who could Design a DMB “Fire Dancer” for me to download to my new table? I have Zero clue how to create anything and I don’t have a computer anymore just my iPhone ☹️ I can post a couple of different pics of how the Design looks. I’d also be willing to pay a “fair price” if needed. Thanks in advance. ChrisPoker😁 Attachment : 54B84C55-FDEB-48BF-ADA4-B70877850051.jpeg | |||||

| Hi Matt! I'm also trying to create tracks for the XYLA metal table on the Sandify platform and am running into an issue where the Design doesn't WAnt to go from edge to edge of the table. I put in your dimensions of 914x406 but it still doesn't seem to work. As you can see, I'm just trying out a simple pattern to get it to fill in the entire table. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!Jacques Attachment : xyla.jpg | |||||
| RE: Drinks on the table | 2 Relevance | 2 years ago | [email protected] | Table Usage | |
| Philipp, I never put drinks on the table- one spill would stain the display, regardless of the electronics. Probably the only Design flaw I’ve noticed. Unfortunate, as it pretty much makes the unit useless as a table. Even a raised ridge on the outer edge of the glass top to keep spills from going over the edge would have helped! | |||||

| @matt2 Seems to me that the option cannot practically be provided when shuffle is invoked A more knotty problem is how to quantify "speed". Maybe radio buttons for 25%, 50%, 75%, and 100%...That made sense until I remembered that I have tinkered with Settings and have the speed set at a value of 5 when the default is (iirc) 1.75. So some allowance would have to be made for such cases. Things like that are the reason I would rather Design a UI than write the code. 😀 | |||||

| RE: Track organization. | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | heropup | App Usage | |
| @mdolfis: By Design, the WAy tracks are played, there isn't a distinction between "center-edge" and "edge-center." Here's how it currently works, and this includes the erase pattern. If the next track to be played is "center-edge" or "edge-center," wherever the ball has ended, the table will automatically read the next track in forward or reverse order so as to not need to jump from edge to center or vice versa. So for example, if the current track ended at the edge, but the list of coordinates for the next track begins at the center and ends at the edge ... | |||||
