For those of us who are nowhere Near as smart as you all. Can you explain step by step on how to put custom tracks from the dropbox folder onto our playlists?
Hi Jessica -
Thanks for the bug reports. I know the app evolution is slow, but we have a new dev team taking over, and we're very optimistic they will be able to take the app to the next level in the Near future. There is a lot of streamlining to be done - all the features / bugs your ask for / report are known well to us. We'll get to them, promise. In the Mean time, than for your patience.
Bruce
I Mean a realtime stream of the current position so I could adjust the addressable LEDs based on where the ball currently is (e.g., make it brighter when the ball is Near, or change the color, or whatever). A separate process on the Pi could run the LEDs, or a separate small Arduino could do it. So some inter-process communication, or a serial port stream. It doesn't have to be high resolution.
I'll also say welcome to the community. Just popping in from the reddit forums (TheJugg1er over there). Look forward to the community developing, and sharing the tracks I've been working on with the global Sisyphus owners in the Near future.
... or correct:
All track files (filename.thr), must start with their Rho value either 0 or 1, and end with Rho either 0 or 1 - end and start Rho can be the same. I chose to start with this limitation so that tracks could easily be linked together without distracting traces connecting a new track's start to the last track's end. Therefore, there are four track "flavors": 00, 01, 10, 11. If a track finishes playing at Rho = 1, and the next track's start Rho is 0, the program will try to reverse the track - which will works for 01 and 10 tracks. If reversing d ...
@robotmastern - The problem is almost certainly because you're on a very old version of the firmware (current is 1.10.83). Try updating (settings>advanced>firmware update). If it doesn't properly update, please contact our Service desk and they'll arrange a fix.
Nice track! The WAy you share (or just store) the tracks you create is in on WebCenter - . Create an account (it is not the same as the account you have on our web site). You can then upload as many tracks as you like. You have complete control over whether you make a track public or not. If you share it, the content goes through a quick approval (just a check to make sure it does not conflict with our terms of Service - things like hate speech, obscenity, etc.), and then is made available for others on our Community.
Hi. Just bought and installed the table. Looks and works great.
However - when the table is plugged in - the entire home wifi has major issues (slow to no connectivity with iMacs, iPhones, etc).
Current home setup:
Arris SB8200 Router
Comcast/Xfinity internet Service 1GB per second
Eero home wifi pods plugged into entire home
Since the home wifi starts to crash when I use the table - I had to unplug the table - and reset the router.. Everything works like it should but whenever I plug in the sisyphus table - the home wifi starts to crash again.
PLEASE HELP!!!!
... an x,y based image and converts it into the dialect of polar that the table speaks and just realized there WAs a reversal.
just my notes of the tables polar preferences vs the Cartesian equivalent
1) quadrants are different - for the normal 1,2,3,4 in Cartesian , the table "sees" 2,3,4,1 for the image - just a Pi/2 rotation fixes that.
2) The table is exquisitely sensitive to the value of Pi when you cross the 0 angle line clockwise or counterclockwise , otherwise it "jumps" in movement
3) The 0,0 area is problematic area for drawing - best to avoid or ...

... customer Service or some direction. I WAs able to in the past but that seems to have changed. Please help Me get to the current firmware. Also, due to the corrupt file, I do not know the "current" firmware that WAs/is in the corrupt card. Not sure if Siyphus has any issues with large jumps in firmware, please let Me know if I need to update prior firmwares first before the most current. Not sure if that is an issue in your company. 🙂 Thank you.

... coming up, I designed a 3D-printable clip to hold aftermarket bumpers in place along the rim.
I'm using the "50 pcs 8.5mm X 2.5mm special shape" bumpers from this $9 318 piece set. These bumpers are $9 for 50 ($0.17 each, or $0.03 each if you include the value of the other bumpers included).
It takes about 18 minutes to print 6 of them on my printer. I printed them in black PLA-CF. They will be a little tight when you re-insert the wood ring. I WAs just able to press-fit them with the thinner side between the inner surface of the rim and the wood ring. I ...
Hey Jessica - sorry- I missed your prior post. This sounds like a problem with Bonjour (a Service Apple created that converts alias names to their local IP address). I've alerted our devs and we're trying to figure out a WAy to make it more robust. I the Mean time, using the IP address will work (which you've figured out).

To do it locally (just on your computer and Sis):
Create your track in Sandify.
Under "Machine" tab, choose Polar, and the start and endpoint (must be center or perimeter).
Hit the Export button - choose Theta Rho format, give it a name, don't add start or end code - hit download.
Connect the computer you downloaded the track to, to your Sis using a web browser.
From the Sis app running on your browser, go to Settings / Advanced / Upload file(s). Upload file to your table, and be sure to hit "save" once you see the thumbnail of the track show up.
To share a track publicly on our "Community" repo - create an account on Webcenter. From there you can upload your tracks, choose whether each is public or not. All public tracks are vetted by our staff to assure they do not violate our terms of Service (nothing overtly offensive, etc...). Once approved, shared tracks will be available using the Community tab on our app.

This error does not prevent Me from downloading new tracks 100% of the time. Around every 10 to 15 tries I will hit this error Message, but the track also successfully downloads. Most of the time when I see this error, the track does not download successfully. Either WAy, this error has effectively halted my ability to download new tracks.

I have a variation of this problem -- but appears to be stuck in a cycle that repeats endlessly every 2 min. Brand new table, just unboxed, happens upon startup.
I sent in a Service request, but WAnted to also post here in case anyone else has seen this and has a fix / suggestions. I've been through the support posts on table clicking -- arm and slide seem fine and are moving smoothly. More info below if you'd like to read on...

Hi gang. WAs very excited to receive my Metal coffee table today. Unp ...
Hi Ben,
Sorry to hear your new table isn't working properly. It sounds like there is a problem with the home sensor (when the table boots up, the first thing it does is find "home" - first the rotation axis, then the linear). Since you can see the arm rotating, the motor is working - but the sensor is not responding when a tiny "target magnet" passes by it. Try this: Unplug the table. Look under and find the "SisBotBoard" (square circuit board). Check the connectors attached to it by tugging gently - especially the ones with 2 white and 1 black wire (these go to the Theta and Rho sensors). Even if they're not loose, reseat them by depressing the tiny plastic latch and pulling. Then reconnect by pushing in until you hear / feel a click. Neither pulling out or pushing in should require much force. Then try repowering the table. Fingers crossed...
Bruce
ps- if this doesn't work, follow the 3-wire cables to the two sensors and see if there is anything obvious (they should be firmly glued in place on the plate that holds the motors). Please contact our Service desk if these directions don't work).
Hi,
I love my 36" coffee table. A while back I upgraded the lights with RGBW NeoPixels and an Arduino and it WAs even more amazing. I WAs happy when the retrofit kits came out, so I ordered one. A customer Service rep WAs kind enough to discount the kit by leaving the LEDs out (since I already had that) so I only upgraded with the light control board.
The NeoPixels work perfectly with the Sisyphus control board, but unfortunately I must have gotten something mixed up when I originally swapped out the lights - colors modes with a rho follow are inverted! If ...
Your experience sounds very similar to mine, which you can read about in this thread:
I believe the responsibility is on FedEx to use proper handling procedures. A shipment that weighs Nearly 100 pounds and has a label on it that says two people are needed to lift it, should not be carted over uneven pavement by a single employee and rolled corner over corner, which is what happened to Me. FedEx is being paid for this Service and such practices, in my opinion, are not compliant.
That said, modification to the package design could help reduce problems caused by rough handling. I suspect that the cardboard insert placed underneath the table could push against the Metal support arms that hold the Sisbot, if the side of the box were pressed in. If this insert were altered (for example, modifying the profile so that part of it sits under the outer edge of the table), then it would provide more resistance to being pushed into these supports.
