| RE: Design Question on Base Orientation for Making Tracks | 5 Relevance | 7 years ago | crsolomon | Community Tracks | |
| So let me try to rephase your answer 1) when you power up the table "theta" has an absolute meaning based on a sensor a) you can determine that position by looking at the position of ball at 0,1 after say an initial "Erase" routine. 2) After the 1st track play is complete - theta 0 now starts relative to the position of the ball when the new track begins. is that correct? Again - most tracks are symmetric so the starting theta 0 is irrelevant. It's just the ones that are pictures that end up "upside down" or "sideways". | |||||
| RE: Design Question on Base Orientation for Making Tracks | 5 Relevance | 7 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| You touch on an interesting point. Yes, there is an absolute meaning of "up". It is determined by where "home" is for the Theta (rotational) axis - which is a physical sensor in fixed location. At this point in development, we haven't been religious about handling Theta - as opposed to Rho, where things are not at all forgiving if you start in the wrong place. For now, up is the Theta heading after the first homing after bootup (sensored). Tracks in a playlist start (Theta-wise) wherever they find themselves. (Ability to control this will improve...) | |||||

| RE: Reversibility! | 5 Relevance | 4 years ago | matt2 | Beta releases and bugs | |
| 1.12.04 update is out. With it, on the homepage, you can click on "Connections" in the Next Up heading to view the track flow and information on their start/end (rho) values. The table will do its best to play smoothly, but depending on the order and track values, it is not always possible. The queue will let you rearrange the track order yourself if you WAnt to fix the upcoming order manually. | |||||
| App/Sisyphus Update 1.10.77 | 5 Relevance | 5 years ago | matt2 | App Updates | |
| Today we released a new update to the Sisyphus tables, with a matching update coming to iOS and Android as soon as they pass review with their stores. Sisyphus 1.10.77 update includes: Fix reversible issue with old tracks (endless teardrop) Remove comments/duplicate verts on track intake Hotspot turned off if connected to Ethernet Force Orientation for tracks Download Webcenter tracks directly Async track time calculating, cached track time values (less movement pauses when this occurs) Skip thr lines with more than 2 values, clamp Rho values to -0.1:1.1 App/Browser 1.10.51 update includes: Tablet/Web view layout added (see attachment) Dark Mode (based on your OS settings) Change brightness or Sisyphus from Sleeping Screen Shutdown added to Advanced Settings Improved track time on Home page Force Orientation toggle on track page Additional bug fixes Tilt controller (App only) The update as a whole fixes a number of bugs that could make the table pause movement when is shouldn't have. As for what is coming up in the next updates, we will be working on Erase Between Tracks (it is working, but the playlist logic still needs work). We also are working hard on a new card image that is more resilient to power loss issues and a new update process that is faster and more reliable. | Using app before table arrives? | 5 Relevance | 5 years ago | gcleary425 | App Usage | |
| Hello, i have placed a order for a coffee table and am excited to start using it when it arrives. Is there a WAy to build playlist, explore tracks, or learn the ui of the app before my table arrives? I downloaded the app and it appears that without connecting to a device that the app has a roadblock. Also if the app is a dead end until connected, is there a web based WAy to do build Playlist or view available tracks? And lastly, is there a place for users to share their favorite playlist or tracks with each other. Is there a WAy to sort tracks for "most ... | |||||
| RE: Approved vs Unapproved Tracks | 5 Relevance | 6 years ago | DougO | Community Tracks | |
| A little more info to help focus your search: Some of the tracks I submitted were just the reverse of other tracks, which I thought maybe were not approved for that fact (ex. DougO-Asym1Rev). I submitted them that WAy thinking that for tracks that look very different depending on direction you would be able to view a thumbnail of the track forward and reverse on the app and also insert them more easily in playlists. Two tracks (DougO-AsymBasket and DougO-Pangolin) didn't have that problem though, so I'm not sure what would have been wrong with them. | |||||

| RE: Uploading tracks fails to generate "preview" | 5 Relevance | 8 years ago | brobbins | App Usage | |
| I'm seeing the same issue. I haven't created any of my own tracks yet but instead am trying to load the community tracks. The first few went fine, but now I just get the Sisyphus logo in the web view. I've even had multiple tracks show up okay in the webview, but when I try to look at it in the app it just shows an error. I even went so far as reimaging the SD card today and once I did that I WAs able to get a few more tracks to load, but now it's back to just showing the Sisyphus logo again. Any ideas on what might be happening? | |||||

| And last, but not least, is a view from the far side of the table right at the table's edge, so you can see what it looks like if you are trying really hard to see what is going on. The most notable thing here is that you can clearly see the row of "old" LEDs along the bottom. I suppose you could remove them, but they don't bother me. Just be aware that you can see them from a bit higher up as well. 🙂 Attachment : IMG_3456.JPG | |||||

| Thanks for the reply Matt. I just received this table last week though, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't have had the 2BallDemo playlist out of the box, or why I had the Fox1warp1 track. Maybe the Sisbot on my table WAs pre-loaded a long time ago? I didn't realize that the iOS app stored some client-side settings. I thought it WAs essentially a view into an entirely table-hosted UI given that when I go to the table's IP on my PC's web browser, I see virtually the same interface, and I can even browse the Community from there without having to log in on the ... | |||||
| RE: tracks putting main ball in 2ball holder | 5 Relevance | 6 years ago | dithermaster | Community Tracks | |
| Yes, the first one is mine. Its does depend on the combination of table size and ball size to look "right" as it depends on the closer tracks looking different than the less-close tracks. It WAs Designed on my 2' End Table and I haven't tried it on my Mini yet to see if it looks anything like it should. In the future I'd like to provide variants at different table sizes. As to why or how it messes up tracks afterwards, I'm not sure why that is happening on your table. It is possible to view the .thr files in a text editor, they are just theta rho pairs. Rho ... | |||||
| RE: Some of my first attempts using sandify (New Tracks) | 5 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| Welcome to our forum, Doug! And thanks for sharing these. We are phasing out of using a Dropbox folder for public tracks, now that we have opened our Community section of the app (at long last!). All you need to do is log in at webcenter.sisyphus-industries.com, and then upload your tracks. Thumbnail images of the tracks will auto-generate, and so people can get an idea of the what the track will look like before downloading and running them. Also - a nice feature of Sandify is that it allows you to view track files - just click on the Code tab, and then the "Click to load" under the Theta Rho Input heading. The track will be drawn in the black field, and there is a slider at the bottom which steps you through the path's course. Bruce | |||||

Is there a WAy to manipulate the speed of the ball in a thr file? Are there standards for comments? | Next is a view from the underside. This is where I feel certain it can be done much more elegantly than I did it. But it works well and I haven't had any issues. I probably should seal it with silicon, but I am worried that that might muck up the velvet that is laying over the hole tbh... You can see that I have just wrapped the old LED cord under the table for safekeeping. Attachment : IMG_3451.JPG | |||||
| Connects to wifi, lights for a moment at start then nothing. | 4 Relevance | 5 years ago | burningamd | Table Usage | |
| This happens a lot on power loss. The table just stops working and I have to hard reset it. I'm looking for an alternate, easier solution. So when I power it up there's a quick spin of blue light from the RGB, the red light is on and the Green light is flashing periodically on the board. I can see the table connected to my access point but going to its IP it wont communicate. Other than that the LEDs stay off and there's no ball movement. The only WAy I have found in the past to get it working again is a hard reset. | |||||

| After using WinTopo (Free) for a couple of tracks, all of a sudden, it WAnts me to pay. Why? Number of images vectorized (this would be the 3rd)? Size of image (I started large, but even at 300x300 it is complaining)? I noticed that I now have blue lines in my vectorization, instead of only Green ones. Is that significant? Thanks for any help. | |||||

| RE: Cannot connect to Sisyphus wifi, fails to find ip | 4 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Connectivity | |
| @finntoogood Hot off the press: The bug causing this has been fixed in the most recent firmware update - which doesn't help in your situation. However, you should be able to fix the "zombie hotspot" by resetting your Sisbot. To do this, while powered up, hold the button on the Raspberry Pi "hat" (small piggy-back board on the Green circuit board) for ~5 sec. After releasing, it should reboot and the hotspot be reachable. Once connected to your WiFi, you can then update. Let me know if this doesn't work. | |||||
