| Carved Marble Pedestal for Mini | 55 Relevance | 5 years ago | douglas1 | Table Customization | |
| Hello, I'm new here. I just ordered a Mini with the intent to sculpt a custom ornate Marble pedestal for it. I'm thinking I should have ordered an EX? Not positive of the differences. Also, I'm interested in any suggestions for such a project. Also, I'll need to cancel if I cannot take delivery by mid-July. Wondering if switching to an EX will help. I am a regular at the annual Marble/marble sculpting symposium in Marble Colorado. Marble/marble Stone Carving Symposium – America’s premiere stone carving experience. | Parking hits the spot! I have decided that this will be a truly mixed materials project. After a while thinking of a good WAy to make the acrylic sides of the drawing area with nice even bends, I thought it would be a good time to explore different materials. Aluminum angle would be easy to snip and bend every 5° or so, but it would be a pain to isolate the LEDs from it. I found some Pvc edge trim at the local hardware store that is 1-1/8" tall. A bit shorter than I WAnted, but it will work out. I took my parking "valet" with me, and lo and behold, it fits ... | |||||

| I'm back in earnest on this project. I'm thinking for a mini embedded into the top of a side-table-high Marble column, my best bet may be to order the MINI ES and strip of the legs and wood? | |||||
| How long does table homing take? | 12 Relevance | 7 years ago | ohlrogge | Table Usage | |
| I just received a new 36" Sisyphus table as a gift. I have connected to it via my phone App. I tried running a design on it. I got a message on my phone saying "HOMING YOUR TABLE This should only take a moment." That WAs about 30 minutes ago and I am still seeing this message. The ball has gone around maybe 60 degrees in a single portion of a circle, and the lights are on. Periodically the ball moves a bit and/or the table beeps. Apart from this nothing is happening. How Long is this expected to go on? Is this normal behavior or is this an i ... | |||||

If you see the same problem, take a look under the table and see if there is anything obvious obstructing the movement of the arm that carries the magnet. Since you table is brand new, it is possible that something shifted or some packing material found its WAy onto the mechanism. I've sent a note to our support desk, which is the best place to follow-up on any issues like this. If the problem does not resolve after power cycling, we will follow up with your there (support@sisyphus-industries ... | |||||
| Video to Track? | 8 Relevance | 3 years ago | rgbrobot | Community Tracks | |
| Hey folks: New to this community. I'm following an instructable to build my own version of this table, and have become obsessed with the following idea: I WAnt to create a workflow where I can execute motion tracking on a point in a video (specifically, a double pendulum, or those used car sales windsocks lol), export that motion tracking data as a vector path, and have the Marble draw out that pattern. Or that's how I'm thinking about it, theoretically. As best as I can tell, most of these tables use either thr or gcode files, but I have minimal exper ... | |||||

| I hear you. We are working on making the app better. The focus is going to be not on brute force (cutting power and turning back on). Everything is connected and has an API (way to "talk" to the world). Sisyphus. Alexa. Homekit (Siri).... It's coming. Just can't pinpoint how Long it will take us. But not Long is my prediction. | |||||

| @jillbolshawgmail-com Sorry , I should have mentioned that the full-seal gasket WAs a design modification we made last year. It accompanied another design change: replacing the separate LED shade ring for a black-out silk screened directly on the outer area of the glass. The gasket doesn't fit correctly with the shade ring in place. I would emphasize -- although spilled liquids that make it to the edge of glass can wick around the edge, but generally do not go beyond the top of the powder coated metal frame. As Long as you clean the spill reasonably soon aft ... | |||||

| I did this on a computer. I can't imagine doing it on a phone but I'm sure there are iPad tools that could handle the task. I decided to try because I thought it would be a fun learning experience and figured I could knock it out in 20-30 minutes. HAHAHA! Three hours later I WAs on like rev 9 and laughing at my optimism. How I did it: I dropped your image into photoshop, removed the text, and then used the selection tool to make an outline. I stroked that outline onto a solid white background, saved the image as a PNG, and then uploaded it to Sisyphu ... | |||||
| RE: Question ref. track start points | 8 Relevance | 5 years ago | Patti | Community Tracks | |
| ... will need for this. All tracks start at either 0 or 1 and end at 0 or 1. You can have any combination of those-- a track that starts and ends at the edge (11), starts at the edge and goes to the center (10), etc. Some tracks are reversible. The erase track is one of those, and it's super simple. It has two lines that read like this, in non-math terms: - Start in the center- Go to the edge, but take the Long WAy around Because it's reversible when you play the erase track the first thing the table does is check to see where the ball is. If the bal ... | |||||

| @bruce Erase is already compliant: when it is first in a playlist, and checked as reversible, it will play from rho=1 to =0... as Long as the ball is at rho=1 when we launch the playlist. Oh, sorry, maybe this is for Patti? | |||||
| RE: Unable to perform reset | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Connectivity | |
| Sorry your having trouble with your Mini. Other than power cycling your Mini (unplug for 10+ seconds; plug back in), and leaving it powered for an hour (sometimes the automatic firmware reset can take a Long time) - if it still remains unresponsive, it will take more trouble shooting with our support team. I see your submitted ticket - you will hear from them tomorrow when they return to work. | |||||
| RE: Demo track for guests | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | App Updates | |
| Hmm... I don't really have a good, ready-made solution for you. Sisyphus is, by its nature, a slowly evolving experience - difficult to show specific drawings quickly. You can always change to a track, like "India" which covers a lot of the field relatively quickly. But I might suggest asking your guests to look closely at how the ball is creating the highly intricate dunes with extreme precision, as it adds layer after layer to Long tracks like "Apache." Take a look at the Community tracks (Community tab on your app), and maybe you can find a short track that plays near the periphery? | |||||
| RE: "erase track" before actual track | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| Yes, this is a known issue. The "erase" track is special - it runs 3x the speed of other tracks. And while it's possible to create a track that is the same as "erase" and even save it as a track called "erase" - only the original erase has the 3x speed built in. The other issue is that the utility "Sisyphus For The Rest Of Us" (SFTROU) has an option for adding a "pre-erase" before the tracks it generates. Since it is just a Long move between two polar points and not the true "erase" track, it runs at normal speed. | |||||

| ... to clean repeatedly. Again -- the only caveat is that if there is a spill, you don't leave it for a Long time (perhaps allowing it to run over the edge which is more a problem for the carpet beneath the table than getting onto the sand). As Long as a spill is not unattended (like a leak from a WAter-filled flower vase), clean up is quick and easy and not a risk to the table. Here are a couple of examples from our Instagram grid, WAy back: Aftermath of party at the shop and my coffee spill (I nearly always have a cup close by). | |||||

| AFAIK you cannot view files downloaded from community portal? But, I don't think the appearance is a table size issue, I don't think it's even completing the track, is it supposed to end mid table like that? I didn't think that WAs an option. Maybe the download WAs corrupt. I haven't gone full diagnosis on it. | |||||
| RE: tracks putting main ball in 2ball holder | 6 Relevance | 6 years ago | dithermaster | Community Tracks | |
| Yes, the first one is mine. Its does depend on the combination of table size and ball size to look "right" as it depends on the closer tracks looking different than the less-close tracks. It WAs designed on my 2' End Table and I haven't tried it on my Mini yet to see if it looks anything like it should. In the future I'd like to provide variants at different table sizes. As to why or how it messes up tracks afterwards, I'm not sure why that is happening on your table. It is possible to view the .thr files in a text editor, they are just theta rho pairs. | Feature Request: Allow joining wifi networks with short passwords | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | jordanhubbard | App Updates | |
| My wifi network has a short, easy to type password because I live in the boonies and there is no need to create a Long, 8 character password (especially on televisions and other internet-connected appliances that make you "type" with an IR remote). Unfortunately, the Sisyphus app has other ideas about this and won't join my wifi. I'm not going to change my wifi password because it would disconnect all of those devices, and my captive portal network (for guests) has a "ToS checkbox" for them to accept, which confuses the heck out of the box as well, so... It doesn't work for me. Feature request: Please remove the password length check for *joining* wifi - there is no need to do that. Attachment : IMG_3590.PNG | |||||
