| RE: tracks putting main ball in 2ball holder | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | burningamd | Community Tracks | |
| Do you have it pausing between tracks? Try to narrow it Down to specific tracks that WAy. Also, are you resetting the playlist after removing the ball? If it's the same problem as me if you just put it back it's going to happen again until the table homes again (which it wont in between playlist tracks) | |||||

| Slowed mine Down last week and seemed to not have a issue for a couple days, then over the weekend i had to remove the main bal from the ball pen 3 times. I WAs a running a playlist of mostly community tracks. I am gonna switch the stock track playlist for a couple days and see if it happens with those tracks. Frustrating. | |||||

| Bruce, thanks for the information! Can the updated modifications be purchased/retrofitted to my older model table? I would love to invite my coffee friends to sit around / enjoy my Sisyphus, but it’s awkward when I don’t WAnt them to put their coffee cup Down. We still love our Sissy,, WAlk thru the room several times daily to check up on “her”, but never actually use the room for fear of something getting spilled. -Jill Attachment : IMG_2617.jpeg | |||||

| Bruce, I bought my table in April of 2022. I DO love it! However, my glass (coffee table) sits on 4 small pea-sized bumps, and the rest of the glass floats (I will try to attach a photo), but I can slip a piece of paper easily under the glass and into the sand area, which is how I would think a spill would flow. Is there an improvement/addition I can buy that sets Down a gasket around the whole circumference? (See pic, below) There isn’t much of a gap (maybe 1/16”?), but definitely air space, not even close to a seal of any kind! Attachment : IMG_2613.jpeg | |||||

But now (basically 7 hrs later, not 17), it is on a new track. …. So, when the “playing” screen shows a time (which, bty, for the most part has seemed accurate), is that based on the slowest speed, or a WAG, or ?? As I said, the playing time has usually seemed pretty accurate, but now I’m wondering if I just WAsn’t paying close enuf attention, or if there’s something odd about this particular pa ...

But if it is consistent, then try to calibrate the home position to true center via the following procedure: First, make sure your firmware is up to date (several improvements to making homing more accurate have evolved over time). Reboot, and after the ball has homed (stopped moving at the center), pause your Sis (if it is starting a track automatically). Go to S ...

Seemed better after a reboot but WAs just noticing it again this morning. More diagnostic work this weekend i guess.

| Ok thanks. But to be clear, the improper shutdown occurred after I shut Down, then plugged it back in and saw no activity after the blue ring animation, and THEN simply unplugged it. So in that case it WAs expected. The part that WAsn't expected WAs the fact that the initial boot attempt didn't seem to get past the blue ring animation. But if users should WAit some period of time after performing the shutdown in the app before pulling the power cord, it might be worth indicating that on the app itself, even if it's an estimate-based message like, "Please ... | |||||

Static phenomena are notorious for being difficult to track Down and eliminate in industry. A long while back, I WAs obsessed / outraged by sand sticking to the ball during dry periods (like Minnesota winters). I tried grounding everything metal anywhere near the sand, including the pan. Nope. My undergrad WAs biochem and included lots of inorganic as well. Took me a while, but I finally tried mixing baking soda (NaHCO3) in - and it work ...

| ... would quieten Down but this has not been the case. I had read somewhere in this forum mention of a 'satisfying crunch' sound but this is not what I am referring to. The noise I'm concerned about is a 'grinding' type sound that is especially loud when the ball is running in a more direct line from the 0-1 axis or 1-0. I have tried running the mini with the ball(s) removed altogether and the 'grinding' sound is just as loud so it's nothing to do with the ball movement itself. When a track is in pause mode there is no sound whatsoever and the speed setting is ... | |||||

| John, This issue WAs found and fixed, but we thought it WAs only affecting new installs. So if you were an early to update to 1.10.83, the fix may not have been included in the Download. There are two steps I'd like you to follow to get the table functioning correctly. First thing is to get the network straightened out. A power-cycle should allow the network to reconnect correctly, but if that does not, hold the reset button for 5 seconds on the Pi hat while the table is running. See: After you get the table correctly on your home network, use the ap ... | |||||

Dithermaster is one of our resident experts, and did a nice job describing the thr format, and need for more points when drawing straight lines (analogous to needing more points to draw arc using an XY mechanism). | Thanks Bruce for the instructions. It went amazingly well.. I WAs afraid that the removal of the ballpark would damage the cushion material but it WAs indeed very easy, with the butter knife.. And yes, for those who would like to do the same, HOLD Down the fabric and proceed slowly by "cutting" and prying underneath. You mentioned "carpet tape".. For me, looks more like spray glue... Anyway, the process left absolutely no trace, no glue, nothing from the ballpark on the table fabric... Very happy! Thanks again Attachment : No_trace.jpg Attachment ...
