@heropup - my table definitely doesn't work like you described. For 99% of tracks (and I mean the ones that came with the app, not "aftermarket" ones). The ball runs from the Center out to the edge. Every track starts with "Homing table" which moves the ball from the edge to the Center. And every track runs to the edge. Almost all of my patterns have a line (sometimes straight, sometimes arched) from where the ball homed from the edge prior to starting. Very occasionally, the ball will start at the edge and end in the Center - but it's almost never. I have the latest app and the latest firmware. What should I do? Thanks! - Mark

As soon the ball begins to move UNPLUG your table. WAit 30 seconds and plug the table back.
You can now operate the table as desired.
What may happen if you do not power-cycle your table after the update - The ball will fail to return to the Center and begin operating in the wrong position. This is likely to result in one of the scenarios below:

It's hard to diagnose the cause of noise via verbal description - but I'm fairly sure the noise is not gear teeth being skipped. It is most likely the Rho stepper motor "stalling." When unable to turn its shaft because of mechanical resistance (obstruction, higher than normal friction, etc.) it vibrates loudly. This can happen if Rho homing (finding the Center) isn't working right, and the Rho axis hits its end of travel. It causes no damage to gear or pulley teeth. Our support team is expert at troubleshooting and fixing issues. Please contact the support desk, and if you can, take a video of your Mini when it's making the noise and out of position and upload it there.
... for two reasons. First, the Erase track will only play Center-out that WAy; it would really be nice to be able to specifically choose to play a track in reverse.... And more annoyingly, if I WAit for the Erase track to complete by arriving at Rho 1, then even if I select another single track that BEGINS at Rho 1, the table homes to Rho 0 before going back to Rho 1 to begin the track, leaving me with 2 connection lines before the track begins.

I used sandify to put together a real simple small track to speed up the process, it's a lot better now (see image), but still a little offset at maximum homing offset (0.12 inches) so I guess I will have to drop the bot and try to re-adjust it manually.

I have also learned that if you are using a playlist, the table is smart enough to recognize where the last track stopped (outside or in the middle) and will launch the next track from that position (if the track is capable from being played in reverse). The standard erase track is capable of starting from the middle and working out, or from the outside working to the middle. However, if you launch the track on its own (outside of a playlist), it will always home the table and start from the middle...
The "head" magnet can be most easily found by placing the ball in the Center and power cycling. After Sisyphus boots up, the first thing it does is go home - which places the head magnet at the Center.
Agreed! I use some tracks as a base before the next track, or to plow sand back to the Center, so I’m not concerned about precision on those tracks, and would use faster speeds. For more intricate patterns, slower speed with more detail is better.
In addition to the ability to change the speed of individual tracks in a playlist, I’d also like the ability to select whether to pause after each track. If I ran an E10, an attach or detach, or an Apache1 in reverse to push sand into the Center, I would deselect the contemplation pause after those tracks. Possibly, for the attach and detach, program it to immediately begin the next track always.
When editing a playlist, and selecting the add a track option, could the new track be inserted into the playlist at the point where you are in the list? Current behavior adds the new track to the bottom of the list, then you need to drag the track into the desired position in the playlist.
What function does the “favorite” button have? Can “favorited” tracks be added to the left side of the edit playlist screen so they could be inserted easily? If so, I’d recommend that the attach and detach tracks default to “favorite” for easy insertion. If this is already a feature, please accept my apology for not having tested it!
Do the tracks have the ability to attach multiple images in the library? I’d appreciate seeing images of the track in standard and reversed mode (for those that can be reversed), and with multi-ball (standard and reversed).
Finally, I have a suggestion for an edge-plowing track. The magnet can go outside of rho 1, as it does during the park and attach routines. Can a track be created to use the second ball to run consecutive reversing “c” patterns ending at each edge of the garage from the extreme reach of the 2nd magnet arm to clear the edges of the sand ridge back inside of the rho=1 position?

Do you have a second ball? This is just a hunch, but the errant drawing doesn't look haphazard - there are definitely "related features" - which makes me suspect that the head ball got picked up by the tail magnet. So what you're currently seeing are inside-out version of tracks. To confirm this, reboot your table (either form the app or by power cycling). The ball should go to the Center, but I predict it will go to the edge. If I'm right, you'll need to take off the glass, pickup the ball and place it near the Center, where you'll feel the head magnet grab it. If I'm wrong, please contact our support staff.

Most people are familiar with 2D Cartesian geometry, where the two axes are called "X" (horizontal) and "Y" (vertical) - the classic example is an Etch-a-Sketch. I have a Metal Coffee Table with RGBW lighting running firmware 1.10.70. Recently I've noticed that if use the Sisyphus iOS app to change the White LED color temperature to any value on the slider other than the Center value and then completely quit the app on my iPhone from the multi-tasking interface, when I relaunch the app, after the "Scanning for nearby tables" and "Connecting" phases complete, the table resets the white color temperature to the Center value, and the slider in the app is repositioned accordingly. This is 100% reproducible.
Yes, the idea I had for a Center-center or edge-edge erase track WAs to do half the number of turns as usual, and then do the other half on the WAy back? That WAy, the total distance remains roughly the same, without creating any obvious asymmetries or doubling back. But given the tight spacing, it probably still wouldn't look like a normal erase track.
I've experienced this, as well. After putting the large ball in the Center and the small in the ball-catch, the first thing the table seems to do is grab the large ball, and put it in the ball-catch on the same side as the small ball, then they're both dropped off, stuck together, and aren't driven around the field. I fixed it manually by starting the erase track, then placing the large ball in the Center again.
I've encountered this problem on multiple occasions now. Basically, I have a Favorites playlist that I typically have on shuffle. Whenever community track "Reuleaux_tight" by dbullardWebcenter attempts to play, the table gets stuck going back and forth on a partial "coarse erase" and eventually just tracing a circle (not spiral) along the outside edge of that spiral. During this time, the ETA progress bar for the track in the app will often show either 0 time elapsed and 0 time remaining, or else get stuck at a separate point in time, e.g. 1:37:20 elapsed and 35+ hours remaining, with neither of those figures changing as time goes on.
I have the 36" 2-ball RGBLED Coffee Table running firmware 1.10.73. Below is a photo of what the table looks like when it gets stuck doing this. In this specific case, the table had just previously finished playing "goulet_cirstar5a_ee" by goulet. As shown below, a very coarse erase spiral has been drawn over it. At the time of the first photo below, the ball had just finished working clockwise from Center to reach the outer tip of the displayed spiral and had begun to work backwards. At the time of the second photo, the ball had begun drawing a continuous circle (not spiral) around the outside edge, working clockwise, opposite the direction of the originally drawn spiral. If you follow the spiral from Center outward tracing its clockwise path, you can see where the paths "converge", which is the point where the ball switched to getting stuck in a counterclockwise loop.

Actually, erase doesn't move much sand - either in or out. But try this:
Library >Playlists > hit "+" to create a new playlist
name it "plow in" (or whatever you prefer)
add track "e10"
add track "apache1"
hit "done"
hit "save"
play sequential (not shuffle)
turn repeat on - and let run over night (or all day)
Explanation: e10 is a crude erase track - 10 revolutions from Center to edge - just to get the ball out to the edge quickly. Apache is a spiky spiral track that moves a lot of sand toward the middle when played backwards (edge to Center - a.k.a. "1 to 0"). After multiple runs of this playlist, you should see more sand in the middle. Let me know if it works for you.
... My power supply and step down converter are able to power the accessories noted above, along with the Raspberry Pi, and motor hat without breaking a sweat.
