Just after my most factory reset, I noticed that the standard direction played normally. | As @dithermaster relayed, you can use the jog interface to discretely move each axis. But we haven't yet added that to our API. But our dev is working now on doing just that (allowing you to stream in commands via POST calls). As for getting used to the polar system - it does take some time, but it gets easier the more you play with it. While both Cartesian and polar systems can describe every Point on a plane, there are some big differences (the Point at the center of the polar system can have different thetas, but still be in the same position (though having different "headings")). And there are what I think of as "symmetries": In the XY world, you can emulate curves using lots of little straight lines. Whereas in the polar world, you can emulate straight lines with lots of little spiral arcs. While there are some gotchas when converting Cartesian plots to polar plots, any path created in one system can be converted to other (with regard to positions along the path). | |||||

But the example you give, while it shouldn't cause problems (without the empty line), will first erase from center to outside (100 revs along the WAy), and then circle in the opposite direction about 180 times, staying at the edge (this is the move between Point 628.319 1 and Point -498.821 1). If you WAnt to force a 100-rev erase before a track that starts at Theta = -498.821, either add or subtract 628.319 to or from -498.821 to get the starting Theta of the erase move (depending on which WAy, CW or CC ... | |||||

| Fair Point. But it's still just electrons (slight mass), purposed toward moving photons (massless). Certainly not not "real" in the particle physics sense. And certainly capable of moving humans to feel emotions. But not tangible. That's my bias. | |||||

| Thanks for jumping in with the very nice explanation @heropup! We're currently working on making it far easier to determine "center edge" (a.k.a. "0 1") track types and the ability to determine track reversibility - should be released very soon. One question: Why did you ad the third Point? WAs that so the inward erase would not just follow exactly the path (in reverse) of the outward erase? | |||||

| At his Point, the 2-ball option is coupled with the RGBW lighting. What sold me on introducing colored lighting, WAs the absolute freedom to switch to white. There are 4 individual LEDs in each "LED" in the strip - with a dedicated white added to RGB. This means you have complete freedom - every color of the rainbow AND any temperature white you WAnt. AND, each one is individually controllable. | |||||

| ... an x,y based image and converts it into the dialect of polar that the table speaks and just realized there WAs a reversal. just my notes of the tables polar preferences vs the Cartesian equivalent 1) quadrants are different - for the normal 1,2,3,4 in Cartesian , the table "sees" 2,3,4,1 for the image - just a Pi/2 rotation fixes that. 2) The table is exquisitely sensitive to the value of Pi when you cross the 0 angle line clockwise or counterclockwise , otherwise it "jumps" in movement 3) The 0,0 area is problematic area for drawing - best to avoid or ... | |||||

I purchased a cord protector like I had for other items that run a cord a distance from a WAll outlet for the Sisyphus but the ferromagnet in the middle has to be forced into the protector, and leaves a hump, which I don't expect to be a problem, but you get my Point. Unitizing the Rho value makes all tracks universal for any size table. All moves are from Point to Point, but instead of being linear as they would be in a Cartesian machine, they produce spiral arcs in this system. The simplest track file has just two Points - an example being the "erase.thr" track: #erase.thr (start a line with # to make it a comment) #one vertex per line: Theta(real)<space>Rho(real from 0-1) ... | |||||

| After updating the iOS app today to ver 1.8.38 I cannot connect the table to wifi to update firmware. It endlessly gathers networks. To interrupt it, I hit the advanced tab, click update firmware, which asks me to connect to wifi. That takes me to the wifi page where it recognizes my network. I input the password, but there is no button to press to join the network (so I can't actually join). What's more, each time I restart the app, it takes me back to square one, asking me to update the firmware. At which Point, I cannot connect the table to wifi to update firmware. It endlessly gathers networks ... same as above. Ideas? | |||||

| We love Sandify and it's been a great tool to experiment and see how tracks are made. Here are a few tracks we've created and like. It's great the .thr file has all the parameters in it at the head of the file so you can try it and make your own variations using these as a starting Point. | Hey folks: New to this community. I'm following an instructable to build my own version of this table, and have become obsessed with the following idea: I WAnt to create a workflow where I can execute motion tracking on a Point in a video (specifically, a double pendulum, or those used car sales windsocks lol), export that motion tracking data as a vector path, and have the marble draw out that pattern.
