| Enable light without motion after waking table? | 4 Relevance | 6 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| I have found that if I put the table to sleep while the table is paused, WAking the table on its own does not cause the lights to come back on. The ball must move first in order for that to happen. Unfortunately, this means that if I have "Pause After each track" enabled and put the table to sleep at the end of a track, I can't WAke it up with lighting to see the completed track without moving the ball first. For tracks that end at Rho 0, this will cause the ball to no longer be centered and to partially draw over whatever is currently displayed. It woul ... | |||||
| RE: Lost Connectivity after the Iphone app flashed table | 4 Relevance | 6 years ago | matt2 | Connectivity | |
| Great info. By the IP address I can tell that it is having issues with getting the wifi network set up on the OS level. While your table is running, manually hold the button on the Reset Button for 3 seconds. This FAQ page has an image of where to find the button: Don't follow the directions on that page, as that will do a hard reset removing your old settings/tracks/etc. The red light should flash 3 times when successful. After this, the correct Sisyphus-Jeff hotspot network should appear. If that doesn't work, then we may need to escalate the recovery process to the article above. Matt | |||||

The Sisyphus app is stuck at "Waiting for WiFi Connection..." and never does anything else, even After being left open and next to the table for several minutes. I tried the IP addresses 192.168.42.1 and 169.254.51.1 in the browser, while trying to be connected to the Sisyphus-Jeff Wi-Fi and they do not resolve either.

| Line to Center of Table after Erase Track Finishes | 4 Relevance | 7 years ago | Shannon | Table Usage | |
| Playing with the Mini, I have noticed After I perform an Erase the ball is on the outside rim of the table. Then, when I start a new track, the ball relocates to the center of the table leaving a direct line in the sand. I have ran a few patterns where parts of that line are still visible when the pattern has finished. Is there any WAy to have the Erase track finish in the center of the table to prevent the line from showing? | |||||

Things that might have caused this: My WiFi base station WAs power-cycled 3-4 times in the past week for unrelated reasons The Sisyphus table has been power-cycled 5-10 times since it arrived 2 weeks ago I have observed that some settings, specifically brightness and/or auto-brightness tick-box, are forgotten After a table power-cycle. I suspect the WiFi name and/or password is also fragile or not durable. I work in technology and I’m a great troubleshooter and good at isolating problems. | RE: Tracks previously queued | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | matt2 | App Usage
| The queue is the list of tracks played and upcoming. The app retains this list, as our philosophy is that the table should be playing (most of the time). So when you are choosing to play a specific single track right now, it asks if you WAnt to keep playing the next track in the list After it, or forget the old list (clear). This follows patterns seen in Music apps when changing what is currently playing. If Clear is chosen, it will stop playing After that track, until you choose more tracks to play. If you don't WAnt this WArning, I would suggest choosing " ... | |||||

| @micahr I'm trying to update from 1.10.83 two days After you said you fixed the server numbering error, and I'm still seeing the update not complete (after an hour and a half WAit) and also seeing the "Time to Update" 6 seconds After initiating the update. I'm reluctant to re-image the SD card because of these errors and because I don't WAnt to lose my custom designs. | |||||

But if it is consistent, then try to calibrate the home position to true center via the following procedure: First, make sure your firmware is up to date (several improvements to making homing more accurate have evolved over time). Reboot, and After the ball has homed (stopped moving at the center), pause your Sis (if it is starting a track automatically). Go to S ...
| RE: Track corruption on restore -- please add Backup/Restore | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| Ok thanks. But to be clear, the improper shutdown occurred After I shut down, then plugged it back in and saw no activity After the blue ring animation, and THEN simply unplugged it. So in that case it WAs expected. The part that WAsn't expected WAs the fact that the initial boot attempt didn't seem to get past the blue ring animation. But if users should WAit some period of time After performing the shutdown in the app before pulling the power cord, it might be worth indicating that on the app itself, even if it's an estimate-based message like, "Please ... | |||||

| This has been discussed before. I run a playlist e10 followed by apache1 and repeat. Run it overnight and more sand will be in the centre. Sand that has gone beyond the boundary will not return but it does keep the distribution at the centre more balanced. If you enjoy heavy sand tracks then an occasional lift of the glass with a clean is good. If you have a large table then it is a two person job using glass handle suction cups. | |||||

| Lights flash twice but won't turn on after | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | poretti_michael | Table Usage | |
| Someone please help. I've been having trouble with my table so I took out the SD card and reimaged per instructions on here. The table turns on and the lights flash twice as normal but I have no control of the lights otherwise no matter what I try; they wont come on. Also, sometimes the table picks up the ball and others it doesn't and plays as if the ball were moving. I'm so frustrated I just WAnt the table to work. I have the coffee table by the WAy, the metal one. | |||||

| Track corruption on restore -- please add Backup/Restore | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| I recently had to reimage my table's SD card to get my coffee table running properly After it had been shut down for several days while WAiting for a replacement LED strip that I installed After the original strip failed. After reimaging the SD card, I followed instructions I had previously received from Sisyphus Support for restoring tracks and playlists. I had previously backed up "/home/pi/sisbot-server/sisbot/content", and to restore them, I SSH'd to the table, ran "sudo killall node", and then used WinSCP (an SFTP client) to delete the existing files ... | |||||
| RE: Table now locking up on a regular basis | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| Hi Micah, Thanks for the response and commitment to working towards a resolution. One thing that occurred to me After I made that post is that the only change I made to how I used the table shortly before observing this issue is that in addition to having the "Pause between tracks" option enabled, as I often do, I enabled the "Restart After 15 minutes" option as well, which I had never done. The table seemed to work fine with that for a few days, if memory serves, and then I started having these issues. Thinking that might be the culprit, I disabled that option, but the issues persisted once or twice per day. So then I also disabled "Pause between tracks", which is how I'm running now. And for the moment, things seem to be ok, although since the issue only seemed to happen at the end of tracks and many of the tracks I run tend to take 4-10 hours to play, my sample size isn't very large yet. But if the issue reappears, I'll report back with logs. If on the other hand the table continues to behave, I may try enabling those pause and restart options again in an attempt to reproduce the issue and write a solid problem report. But in the immediate term, I think I'm going to spend some time just enjoying the table working normally rather than debugging it. Looking forward to an upcoming firmware update that will offer a graceful shutdown and apparently offer more built-in resilience to unexpected outages. On that subject, adding a UPS isn't really in the cards for me. It wouldn't work well in the space where my table is located, and frankly it's just not something I'd consider for a non-critical item in my home as a workaround to an issue that really shouldn't exist anyway. Electronic devices I have that are far more complex manage to have a very high probability of recovering properly After an unexpected outage, so I don't see why that shouldn't be possible for this table. Anyhow, thanks again for the reply. I'll be in touch if I can provide any additional information to help chase this down. | |||||
