| RE: Ball Bearing Magnetic Properties | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Customization | |
| @stevetheevans - not 100% sure that Home Depot's single bearings are not stainless, but I doubt they'd carry stainless (it's more expensive and less hard than carbon steels). But you can be absolutely sure if you just bring a small magnet with you next time you're shopping. BTW - you do not need 400-series stainless. Regular shiny (polished) steel balls stay that WAy over long periods of time when running on Sisyphus. I assume the sand does the "cleaning." | |||||

| Great update, I appreciate that it makes the overall player UI a bit more intuitive. I couldn't see one either. I could only see the option to delete the track entirely? It would be great if we could simply remove one from "up next" to clean up the queue. The new option isn't to "run Erase before every track," it's a checkbox that can applied on a per-track basis. Which is helpful for the designs on some tracks, which look best against an erased backdrop, like words, or drawings, of faces or objects, etc. I'm very glad to see this added, as previously we'd have to manually insert an "Erase" track beforehand in order to achieve the same. That would be super cool and very much appreciated too. | |||||

| ... stay on the selected timezone even if your phone or browser timezone does not match. Erase Before Playing is an option on each individual Track page. This setting is per-track, so if you turn it on for "Sailboat", every time that track plays, it will run an erasing movement right before it. The currently playing name will be "Sailboat", it does not say "Erase" during those movements. It also plays the erase movement at a faster speed than the regular track movements. The Queue is a new WAy that the Sisyphus manages the upcoming tracks. It is a single list ... | |||||

That's why glass beads don't work as well as silica. There are also all sorts of properties particulate matter displays that is not common in liquids - like static buildup, and bridging / clogging. Here's a project from WAY back that led to my fascination with particulate matter: Shimmibot.

| @uk-guy From your description, your Mini is working properly - that's WAy too much sound. Please take a video of it when it's making the most sound. | RE: A few suggestions... | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| @adambrower Thanks for the in depth feedback! Mea culpa on several points - I will be sharing this to our support and dev teams. My quick response: teenie-weenie rubber bumpers - We hear you (and you're not alone). We are moving to an all-the-way-around seal for our future tables. sand guide printed on cushion - Don't feel this is crucial, as sand edge and depth are subjective choice variables. There's no single "correct" setting. app connectivity - Full agreement. We are actively working on making it far more robust and intuitive. forum search utility - This one's easy: look for the "spyglass" icon on the right of the Forum menu banner. | |||||

| Lights flash twice but won't turn on after | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | poretti_michael | Table Usage | |
| Someone please help. I've been having trouble with my table so I took out the SD card and reimaged per instructions on here. The table turns on and the lights flash twice as normal but I have no control of the lights otherwise no matter what I try; they wont come on. Also, sometimes the table picks up the ball and others it doesn't and plays as if the ball were moving. I'm so frustrated I just WAnt the table to work. I have the coffee table by the WAy, the metal one. | |||||
| RE: Power Bank and Mini (EX) | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | UK Guy | Table Customization | |
| Hi Bruce. Thanks for the info. It occurred to me that you would need to directly access the power bank to physically turn it on or off and the only WAy of doing this would be to remove the glass top of the Mini each time. This would not be practical so the battery would be better off being kept outside the unit. With more and more electrical appliances having their own built in rechargeable batteries maybe this would be an idea for future development? Not a criticism just an idea. | |||||

On the small number of large scale installations I've done (3m in diameter), I made the LED shade ring from multiple pieces of wood that interlock around the entire 30+ feet of circumference, and painted the under-side white to increase the illumination. It's a long WAy to the center of those monsters!

I've only shut my table down maybe 8-10 times, but I've always WAited at least 30 seconds to pull the plug after performing the shutdown in the app, and it seems that the table most often fails to come up properly again if it's been off for several days rather than only a few hours. I'm not sure whether that's truly a relevant factor or how/why it would be, but then again I also don't know why a Linux-based system that WAs properly shut down wouldn't come back in general. Great to hear a backup and restore function is on the WAy. I w ...

If you run a firmware update, it should restore the latest versions of the light code. I would suggest deleting the lights folder from your Content backup. So I did what I always did: hard power cycled it by just unplugging it. This time it came up, but when I opened the app, I saw a notice I'd never seen before, saying the table had been improperly shut down, that a file error had been fixed, and that the table may have been reset to factory defaults as part of that fix -- which I discovered it had been. From there you should be able to figure out the analogous head ball parking tracks. However - we are not recommending doing so. Translating the shape and getting the contours of the torso right WAs much harder than I expected. It WAs a fun learning experience. The noise I'm concerned about is a 'grinding' type sound that is especially loud when the ball is running in a more direct line from the 0-1 axis or 1-0. I have tried running the mini with the ball(s) removed altogether and the 'grinding' sound is just as loud so it's nothing to do with the ball movement itself. When a track is in pause mode there is no sound whatsoever and the speed setting is ...
| In and out for no reason | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | heropup | App Usage | |
| I think a recent firmware update did something to my table where it now gets confused about the WAy tracks should be read. It won't reverse a reversible track to ensure that the playback is continuous. When playing a 1-1 track (start and end are on the edge), it will even go in and then back out. See the attached photos. I have not been able to figure out how to fix this. I suspect what is happening is that after each track finishes playing, the table homes; then it arcs back out if the next track is of type 1-1. I can load the app onto a spare phone and schedule play/pause/color modes for certain times of the day, or even have a certain color mode and playlist activate when one of my calendar events (like a party) starts.
