| "erase track" before actual track | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | James der | Community Tracks | |
| Hello, Ive noticed that some of the contest submission tracks automatically draw an erase track before drawing the lovely Design. Normally it wouldn't bother me but most of them take 22 or more minutes to erase where as the regular "erase" track takes 6 minutes. Is anyone else having this issue? Thanks James | |||||

Sometimes I WAnt my Design to finish before going to sleep and then I need to adjust the sleep time to 1 minute after the current time so that it does sleep.

While I have built furniture in the past, what I am really after is the mechanical and electronic portions of this project. I have ordered most of the parts I will need with a bonus from work, so my project will call my office home, and distract guests along with the other "toys" that I have on hand. Some parts have arrived today, so the journey begins! Here are a few of my goals that differ from standard tables: Make the sand bed from 3mm f ...

I've only shut my table down maybe 8-10 times, but I've always WAited at least 30 seconds to pull the plug after performing the shutdown in the app, and it seems that the table most often fails to come up properly again if it's been off for several days rather than only a few hours. I'm not sure whether that's truly a relevant factor or how/why it would be, but then again I also don't know why a Linux-based system that WAs properly shut down wouldn't come back in general. Great to hear a backup and restore function is on the WAy. I w ...

| Help with simple logo for SVG File | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | info9 | Community Tracks | |
| Hello! Hope you all are doing well. I'm trying to get my sisyphus table to produce a logo, but I'm struggling to get the SVG working correctly. Does anyone here know how to create a workable SVG track? It's a very simple line art logo that I believe should be a '1-1' type of track. I have been trying to create it myself in Illustrator, but keep running into problems with extra lines being added into the Design... Is anyone able to help me with this? Thank you! Nathan | |||||

| I have the dual ball table top version, and when it's drawing a Design and is at the largest radius, the magnet on the other end of the arm is attracted to the center pivot and constantly sticks to it and unsticks, which is kind of annoying after a while. Can I put something in between to at least make it quiet? | |||||

| Bruce- I just WAnted to provide a review of the retrofit RGBW 2 ball kit to our 36in coffee table. It is an amazing upgrade! The actual process went fine and I WAs able to do it without flipping the table (and the dreaded sand removal). While the lights are nice to play with, my wife and I still like the clean WArm white light most of time. The kicker is the 2 ball unexpected changes to our favorite tracks making them even more interesting to WAtch unfold. The tail ball sometimes starts out appearing to ruin the Design, but by the time they switch positions ... | |||||

Bob and I have been working on some WArp techniques to add "texture" or "waves" to the output shape, but it is actually very hard to script something that is a bit random and is actually pleasing (just like Bruce said, the hard part is deciding what is good). As a tool maker, I would like to make it easy to find pleasing patterns without limiting someone's ability to be truely creative. That's the hardest and most interesting challenge. I would also like to add in the ability to really just draw a shape, and then send it through ...

I decided to try because I thought it would be a fun learning experience and figured I could knock it out in 20-30 minutes. HAHAHA! Three hours later I WAs on like rev 9 and laughing at my optimism. | RE: A few suggestions... | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | adambrower | Table Usage
| Excellent idea: a 360º seal will eliminate stress points on the tempered glass and prevent dust from getting into the arena (or whatever we call the sand bed), in addition to eliminating a lot of fiddly stuff on the part of the user. It will increase your fixed costs, though, because it will have to be pre-applied to either the glass or the ring—otherwise you'll have the user fiddling once again, this time with a big, floppy, sticky ring instead of teensy-weensy, bouncy, sticky bumpers. These are mere quibbles, though. The thing is just marvelous. The silence of the automaton is sheer engineering genius: all we can hear is the soothing crunch of the ball spreading sand. I am ensorcelled. Thank heaven you didn't Design this thing in the 90s: it would have been able to send email. (You have to be over 60 years of age to get that one.) | |||||

| Hello Everyone, I WAnted to see if I could make permanent art using the table. So I decided to replace the sand with mortar. After the Design WAs made I spayed with a mist of WAter and let it cure. Then filled with sand and flipped over. Next poured mixed mortar on top to make a disk for it so it could be handled. Now I have a stepping stone. Haha. Enjoy! | How does auto-brightness work? | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | john.hughan | App Usage | |
| I'm trying to figure out how auto-brightness works. First, is it based on an ambient light sensor, time of day, what? And second, I notice that it doesn't disable the brightness slider. It seems to work in conjunction with it, but I can't figure out the exact Design intent. If I move the slider to the very low end, then enabling auto-brightness raises brightness a bit. If I move the slider to the very high end, then enabling auto-brightness dims the lighting it a bit. But for the majority of the slider positions in the middle, auto-brightness seems to have no effect at all. | |||||
