| RE: Connect to WiFi that requires Username and Password | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | MicahR | Connectivity | |
| Rachel, I'm not sure what your specific scenario is but if your work wifi has a password and you did not enter one the Mini will attempt to connect a few times. If it continues to fail it will go back to hotspot mode after 5 minutes or so. Power cycle the Mini if this is the scenario and you still don't see the Sisyphus network. If you work WiFi doesn't have a password but has a captive portal than the Mini may have successfully connected to it but it will be stuck at the captive portal. In this scenario you will have take the Mini to a Place the network is not available and run a factory reset to remove the credentials for your work WiFi. If you're still having difficulties please send an email to [email protected] Micah | |||||

Any tips on the kind of sand in use on your tables would be appreciated. Mine isn't white, but it seems fairly fine. Maybe finer wouldn't be so loud. Attachment : Custom-Lighting-Tests.mp4

If you see the same problem, take a look under the table and see if there is anything obvious obstructing the movement of the arm that carries the magnet. Since you table is brand new, it is possible that something shifted or some packing material found its WAy onto the mechanism. I've sent a note to our support desk, which is the best Place to follow-up on any issues like this. | RE: Design Question on Base Orientation for Making Tracks | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks
| You touch on an interesting point. Yes, there is an absolute meaning of "up". It is determined by where "home" is for the Theta (rotational) axis - which is a physical sensor in fixed location. At this point in development, we haven't been religious about handling Theta - as opposed to Rho, where things are not at all forgiving if you start in the wrong Place. For now, up is the Theta heading after the first homing after bootup (sensored). Tracks in a playlist start (Theta-wise) wherever they find themselves. (Ability to control this will improve...) | |||||

| I haven't seen this before (and I thought I'd seen everything Sis-related!). From the video it seems clear that the problem is software and not hardware (no position loss, and no mechanical noise). | ... or correct: All track files (filename.thr), must start with their Rho value either 0 or 1, and end with Rho either 0 or 1 - end and start Rho can be the same. I chose to start with this limitation so that tracks could easily be linked together without distracting traces connecting a new track's start to the last track's end. Therefore, there are four track "flavors": 00, 01, 10, 11. If a track finishes playing at Rho = 1, and the next track's start Rho is 0, the program will try to reverse the track - which will works for 01 and 10 tracks. If reversing d ... | |||||

| RE: Sisyphus Table Text Generator - need comments please | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| I use the term "debug" in a much more general WAy, since we have several code bases involved with Sisyphus - from firmware running on the microprocessor on the SisBotBoard, to the motion control code running on the Pi, to the code behind our mobile app. A lot of stuff that works during testing here, and on our devs' machines remotely, does not always work on all machines out in the wild (over 2500 currently). Debugging, the WAy I mean it, includes figuring out why new code doesn't work on someone else's machine, even when they've followed your directions. S ... | |||||

| WOW! Debug it? It works just fine on my system and never had a problem. I even posted a 2nd version that has more error checking. The only 2 things were that the program - sb file and abc.txt file be in the same directory. Since you had the source it didn't even matter if it WAs 32 or 64 bit systems. And MS likes to see? Dropbox WAs the most evasive program I ever installed.(deleted it). Java installation is a nightmare on any system. I used Small Basic precisely because it WAs simple - and free. | Sisyphus Table Text Generator - need comments please | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | crsolomon | Community Tracks | |
| I have written a program (in Windows Small Basic) that generates 3 lines of text and writes out a .thr file to play on any table. I would appreciate if I can get some folks in the community to test it and give comments. It seems pretty bulletproof at this point but the interface is very basic. The program has an attached data file with the character information for small and large letters as well as numbers (so it can be edited for improvement if desired) All it needs are these 2 files to be in the same directory - the .thr file will be written to the same Place. Space is limited and the message has limits in size on each line - it will not let you exceed the boundaries of the table. I attached a picture of the output too. Anyone interested in trying this out? Attachment : Sisyphus.jpg Attachment : abc.txt | |||||

| I'm not sure if I should post this here or on Reddit. I wish there WAs more clarity on that. But here goes: I just received my table and I love it! I saw a reddit user mention that there are some unused USB ports under the table and I had this awesome plan to install a Qi charger under the "ring" so I WAs testing this out by plugging a generic Qi USB thingy into one of the free USB ports under the table and the results were not good. When I plug the Qi unit into the USB there are no issues. When I Place my iphone x on the Qi charger it charges fine. I ... | |||||

This new change by itself causes the table to not home correctly in the event it resets without power-cycling the table. This happens during factory resets, name change, and updates. To avoid this issue we added another functional change that returns the ball to home before a factory reset, name change and update. Since we added the changes simultaneously, the fix (home before update) WAs in Place too late t ...
