I have uploaded the public track "celticKnotTest" to the Sisyphus Web Center. I don't have access to a Sisyphus sand table and have tested the track only on a sand table simulator. Please provide feedback on how well the track works and looks on a Sisyphus table. Thanks!
Hi Team, Playing with the table ...... track after track the sand go to the side => It is then mandatory to "open" the table by removing the glass(not useful with hardwood 4" table)
Did you plan to devlop a special track for pushing back the sand to the Center ?
Best Regards
bernard
Hi,If the track you WAnt to play is in a plalist you can see by modifing the playlist the information about "Rho Start/End" ...... BUT if the track you WAnt to play is only in the Track list then you can't see this information.
And by the WAy, for "0/1 Reversible" track it could be useful to decide if you WAnt to stard by the Center OR by the perimeter
Best Regards
Bernard
Your conjecture WAs accurate: the tracks in question were 10 (outside-in) from Sandify, and I neglected to set the end point to Center. Thanks, Bruce.
... the cause of your reported problem (try removing it). But the example you give, while it shouldn't cause problems (without the empty line), will first erase from Center to outside (100 revs along the WAy), and then circle in the opposite direction about 180 times, staying at the edge (this is the move between point 628.319 1 and point -498.821 1). If you WAnt to force a 100-rev erase before a track that starts at Theta = -498.821, either add or subtract 628.319 to or from -498.821 to get the starting Theta of the erase move (depending on which WAy, CW or CC ...
There's only so much detail that can be drawn for a particular grain size of sand. Since all tables regardless of diameter use the same sand, and the paths are scaled to fit a table's drawing field, the larger the table, the more apparent detail can be seen in a track as a whole. In the Center of some tracks, the details get finer and finer until the sand is too coarse to resolve them.
If you were to take a picture of, say, the central 2 inches of the track drawn, it would show roughly the same amount of detail for the same ball size and amount of sand, regardless of the size of the table. But the features are proportionally larger for a larger table (e.g., the spacing between overlapping paths). For instance, if I take a picture of seash5 drawn on my 22" end table, and I take a picture of the same track drawn on the 36" coffee table, such that the entire design just fits inside the frame of the photo, then when comparing the two images, the latter will appear to have finer sand and finer details; but if I take both pictures from the same distance from the glass, the sand will have the same apparent size and the same detail, but the path on the larger table will be magnified compared to the smaller table.
Unless there isn't enough sand to draw a path, if you add more sand to the Center, what will happen is that the ball will just push it around and leave virtually the same amount of sand behind. If you use a smaller ball, you'll see a little more detail since the ball won't flatten the sand as much (it draws a narrower path with less overlap). I would encourage experimenting with different ball sizes and amounts of sand.
Another interesting possibility is to change the shape of the object pushing the sand--a cylinder, for example (like a hockey puck) might create a different effect than a ball.
... files is ".thr"). Theta is in radians, and is in normalized length (0 - 1, where 0 is at the Center, and 1 is at the farthest travel out). Unitizing the Rho value makes all tracks universal for any size table. All moves are from point to point, but instead of being linear as they would be in a Cartesian machine, they produce spiral arcs in this system. The simplest track file has just two points - an example being the "erase.thr" track:
#erase.thr (start a line with # to make it a comment)
#one vertex per line: Theta(real)<space>Rho(real from 0-1)

any idea why mine doesnt display correctly on either the moble app or on browser? firmware says its up to date, 1.10.7
i attached a log file idk if that helps
my table also skipped off Center just now and took a while to rehome it
I think I know what this one is, there WAs a bug in a past release that would cause this behavior. Tracks that have more points than will appear on a table are truncated and resaved. But, the bug WAs: when resaving, it saved an extra vert in it that is dynamically added to ensure the ball starts at the point it should (at the Center, or at the periphery).
The fix is that you should delete and redownload the track in your picture (C WArp 3B, I believe). All of the original tracks are available in the Community section, Sisyphus Originals.
Please update to t ...
When the ball starts rolling from Center/erase, and I adjust the speed or lighting, the ball stalls, makes a horrible noise etc for a few seconds...it's like sending the signal disrupts the mechanism that control the ball....very annoying.
... little too "zoomed in".
An alternate WAy you could fix the position is to Import it in a Sandify project within the Sisyphus app/browser page. Import is the last option on the dropdown for new layers. Then you can scale or position it as you see fit.

Hi all,
Trying to download new tracks and getting the error on the screenshot attached. No matter whether it is 1 track or 18 it’s the same error. I verified that the firmware is up to date. I tried on the app and the computer using the local IP address. I have both an account here and web Center account. Reading through the posts especially the ones from @bruce I couldn’t find a similar problem. Any help would be appreciated to get some Christmas patterns. Cheers!

Hi everyone, please forgive me if this is not the place for this. I’m a new owner and I love my table so much… I cannot stop raving about it to everyone I know. It is everything I could’ve hoped for. The only thing I WAnt more of are the TILE type tracks. It WAs these tracks like (FANCYTILES) that took me over the edge on my decision to purchase. They are my favorite but as of now there’s only a few that I can find and nothing else much like FANCY TILES. I WAnt more of those. Lots more! If you know how to make them, please do and Thank you in so much ...
Hello Sisyphus Community!
I recently WAs lucky enough to acquire a metal Sisyphus side table second hand from someone who used to work for the company. I've really been enjoying exploring how the table and interface work. However, the table has a few issues that I'm hoping someone could help me troubleshoot to get it working properly.
The first issue is that both of the white/RGB light strips aren't working properly under normal operating conditions. The linked picture shows how the lights typically look when the table is running:
At first I thought it w ...
If i run the erase track and the ball stops in the middle, i usually pick a track that looks like it will start from the middle. Its disappointing when the ball travels across the table to the edge to start the design...leaving the ugly path on the final design. The same thing happens if the ball is stopped on the edge..if i WAnt it to start making the design on the edge, sometimes it will go to the Center. How or can i choose the balls starting point for a design??
Hi everyone, I today made an erase track that takes control of the second ball to assist in pulling sand that has built up on the outer ring inwards towards the Center. It isn't perfect but is close and also has a very precise erase pattern to further assist in sand leveling. Let me know if you have any questions.

Also, after the contest is over will we be able to submit any of our submitted designs to our web Center pages or do the tracks become yours upon submission? Does the answer apply to both winning and losing tracks?
Hey,
I can't seem to upload any new tracks through the web Center. For the last few days I've been trying to upload some tracks, but it gets stuck on generating a preview and never gets to the next screen where I can rename and submit it. I've tried different computers and still have the same issue. Any ideas?
I like the idea. At least, if you put the cable under the cover, it happens at the periphery of the rug, far from the Center of the living room.
