On the firmware, we do not auto update. However, a couple possible explanations occurred to me. When loading the app it always checks for an update and prompts you to update. Is it possible this WAs clicked through without fully reading? Are there any others in your residence connecting to the table that may have triggered an update inadvertently or otherwise? | So I turned this feature on and within about three tracks all my sand WAs pushed to the outer edge. Now, I don't know if this is because I WAs playing a lot of community drawings that also had erases in them or what. Either WAy, I turned the feature back off. I'm not sure what the answer is.

| Bruce, I've WAtched some of the videos, etc. I logged into the webcenter but it's empty as I don't have tracks. It doesn't seem to have anywhere to search tracks. The videos also reference the app to create tracks I thought and without a table there I can't create. Am I missing an option or just no WAy to create a track without a table there? Thanks! | The "paint" lighting script again. I happened to glance at the coffee table on my WAy back to the kitchen yesterday evening, and the table looked like this: jjr247-paint.png Whenever it crafts one of these, I leave the table at rest for a few days. For the curious, it's Mr Rambonnet's jjr-Sandify247, preceded by a very fine erase track over his #239 (I think). | |||||

| Hi Rich, Welcome to the forum! Glad to hear about (and see) some of your experiments. I understand about WAnting to hide the "homing line." There isn't a perfect (i.e. fast) WAy to get rid of it - it just has to be written over by subsequent tracks. The only time homing is done is on power up, and when "manually" changing tracks or playlists. We are working on making homing "smarter" - meaning, if the ball is at the periphery (Rho=1), the ball shouldn't need to go the center (Rho=0), but can start where it is if the next track requested can start at Rho=1. ... | |||||

I also work now in an industry where if there are multiple WAys of doing something you can be assured they are all in common use (although I'd love to have a talk with the genius who decided bottom-up raster images made good sense after decades of them going the other WAy). But the example you give, while it shouldn't cause problems (without the empty line), will first erase from center to outside (100 revs along the WAy), and then circle in the opposite direction about 180 times, staying at the edge (this is the move between point 628.319 1 and point -498.821 1). If you WAnt to force a 100-rev erase before a track that starts at Theta = -498.821, either add or subtract 628.319 to or from -498.821 to get the starting Theta of the erase move (depending on which WAy, CW or CC ...
| dampening noise from table | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | davidp | Community Tracks | |
| My daughter figured out a WAy to make my table much quieter. She first noticed that the sisbot (if that's the right term) made no noise at all when disconnected from the table. However, she could feel it vibrating. So she figured the problem WAs the transference of that vibration to the table. The table itself then acts like a drum and amplifies the sound. Next, she cut eight octagonal rubber WAshers out of a wide rubber band. She added two to each of the four screw-fasteners (also, pictured below). The octagonal shape made it easier to position the w ... | |||||
| RE: App request for lighting mode | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | matt2 | Table Customization | |
| Thanks for the questions: 1. No, there is no automatic WAy to change lighting modes at this time. You have to manually change it in the app. 2. Yes, you can delete specific tracks from Playlists by going to the Playlist page, and touch on the three dots (...) in the upper-right corner of your screen. Down the page a little bit, it says "Edit Playlist". Touch on that, and you will be at a screen where you can add, move, and reorder tracks from that Playlist. Hope that helps, Matt | |||||

| There is no obvious option to remove a track from "up next". Am I overlooking something? In all, a useful update, although I still can't understand why someone would WAnt to run Erase before every track. My own wish list: a WAy to specify the speed for each track in a playlist or queue. | |||||

| RE: Erase option | 2 Relevance | 4 years ago | adambrower | Other Development | |
| Hmmm… I think most owners relish the surprises that come from shuffled tracks playing over one another. That's the point of shuffling. Erasing between all tracks eliminates that serendipity. My guess is that if you, to the contrary, enjoy erasing a track before playing the next, you'll just have to keep building your playlists the old fashion WAy. | |||||

| I wish tracks included a visible notation of their native start rho value. This will make it much easier to construct playlists without the fershlugginer connecting line. Maybe a simple 1 or 0 affixed to the title? As it is, the only WAy to access this info is to add a track to a playlist. | |||||

| I use the term "debug" in a much more general WAy, since we have several code bases involved with Sisyphus - from firmware running on the microprocessor on the SisBotBoard, to the motion control code running on the Pi, to the code behind our mobile app. A lot of stuff that works during testing here, and on our devs' machines remotely, does not always work on all machines out in the wild (over 2500 currently). Debugging, the WAy I mean it, includes figuring out why new code doesn't work on someone else's machine, even when they've followed your directions. S ... | |||||
| RE: Both balls joining together and not separating | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| @mahorlick - Hard to know what WAs the specific cause of both balls being together - but almost certainly could not be related to which track you played. More likely, sand may have built up around the "ball-park" (barrier under the shade ring where the second ball is parked and picked up). This can prevent the second ball from going all the WAy into the park - if so, it can accidentally be picked up by the main ball as it goes by. There's no automated WAy of separating them - so the fix is removing the glass and doing it manually. Make sure you brush the sa ... | |||||

| ... to clean repeatedly. Again -- the only caveat is that if there is a spill, you don't leave it for a long time (perhaps allowing it to run over the edge which is more a problem for the carpet beneath the table than getting onto the sand). As long as a spill is not unattended (like a leak from a WAter-filled flower vase), clean up is quick and easy and not a risk to the table. Here are a couple of examples from our Instagram grid, WAy back: Aftermath of party at the shop and my coffee spill (I nearly always have a cup close by). | |||||
