| You are not alone! After a few people wrote about their success connecting a Flic button, I tried it, and though it WAs cool to be abe to get it to work, I could see its limitations. Voice command is definitely the WAy to go IMO. We are definitely planning to devote significant developer time on this, and IFTTT is likely the place we'll start. Our hope is to get our API to a level documentation where the community can start experimenting soon. | |||||
| Sisyphus Update 1.12.22 | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | matt2 | App Updates | |
| Version 1.12.22 is out, with updates to the apps (1.12.31) as well. Most of the changes are under the hood, as we have some new lights and bottom covers for our round tables, and this update prepares your phones for our rectangular XYLA tables. The same app can Control any version of Sisyphus, no separate app needed. | |||||
| Philips Hue synced with Table Lightstrip - It Works! | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | virtualdmns | Table Customization | |
| After some messing with the light scripts and the phue python library, I finally got the table light to sync with the Philips Hue lightstrip underneath my table! It's not perfect and it has a bit of a delay, but damn, I am happy so far. Really cool. You have a lot of Control with these scripts that for sure. Attachment : light_sync.mp4 | |||||
| RE: Reversibility! | 3 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Beta releases and bugs | |
| We will be releasing a new version of firmware next week which should improve Control and visibility of track play direction (amongst a bunch of other new stuff, like addition of a queue). We appreciate your feedback and look forward to you relaying your experienced with it - good or bad. | |||||
| RE: Ability to distinguish "Restart afer Drawing" from "Restart after Erase"BUT | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | App Usage | |
| Yes, it currently applies to the erase track too - which we know is not optimal. We are currently testing a new update that will allow you to have more Control over the erasing, including putting an erase automatically between all tracks, and if using "pause between tracks," not pausing after erases. | |||||
| RE: Connecting to Sisyphus via SSH | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Sergeantpup | Connectivity | |
| Hello, I'd like to connect my Sisyphus to my hubitat so I can dynamically Control the lighting and connect to Alexa. I think I'm in the right place to request a password to connect directly to the device. Can you assist me with this information, please? | |||||

| Any progress on this feature? Our table arrives tomorrow, but we only live here part time. Would love to be able to remotely Control it. | |||||
| RE: Can I connect remotely? | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | jeff.zacks | Connectivity | |
| Just following up on this thread. I set up a table for my father and then set up port forwarding to forward ports 80, 3001, and 3002 from the table. I can connect to the http server on port 80 and can connect to the table from the app by entering their WAN public IP as a manual ip address. When I try to Control the table from either the web interface or the app, it appears to be letting me do so. However, none of the actions seem to have an effect. Is there another port that it's using for the upstream connection to the table, or is there a different roadblo ... | |||||
| RE: Question ref. track start points | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| ... ball around the center. It's the start and end Theta that @adambrower is asking about. Most people are familiar with 2D Cartesian geometry, where the two axes are called "X" (horizontal) and "Y" (vertical) - the classic example is an Etch-a-Sketch. But Sisyphus uses polar geometry (hence the different axis names). Like the X and Y of the Etch-a-Sketch, the Rho axis has limits - if you go too far in either direction you hit the "end of the track." If this happens with your Sisyphus, it makes a knocking noise, which doesn't hurt the mechanism, but is no fun t ... | |||||

| ... prototype, but actually got started ten years earlier, working on a different drawing machine that also had no pen-up ability - the first Eggbot. My goal then - creating single, continuous paths that look cool both while being drawn and when completed - remains the same now. Since I WAs not formally trained as an artist, I never learned to draw by hand skillfully. But I took to early 2D CAD software quickly, and soon WAs able to Control the "pen" using simple algorithms (a.k.a. turtle graphics). Eventually, AutoCAD became my main tool. Most of the routines ... | |||||
| RE: Mini LED add | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | dithermaster | Table Customization | |
| I think so. I haven't seen the mini without LEDs, but as long as the outside WAll is tall enough you can use an LED strip with adhesive backing, and tuck the wires and Control module somewhere. I'd suggest getting one you can set the colors on, because if you get red only you might get bored (unless you really like red!) On my 2' side table I replaced the original white LED strip with an RGBW addressable one and ran color patterns on it using an Arduino microcontroller. They were not based on ball position like the factory strip, but they proved out the con ... | |||||
| Ball arms/motors stall/make noises whrn adjusting lighting etc during erase | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | Lemmuhj | Table Usage | |
| When the ball starts rolling from center/erase, and I adjust the speed or lighting, the ball stalls, makes a horrible noise etc for a few seconds...it's like sending the signal disrupts the mechanism that Control the ball....very annoying. | |||||

| Lights flash twice but won't turn on after | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | poretti_michael | Table Usage | |
| Someone please help. I've been having trouble with my table so I took out the SD card and reimaged per instructions on here. The table turns on and the lights flash twice as normal but I have no Control of the lights otherwise no Matter what I try; they wont come on. Also, sometimes the table picks up the ball and others it doesn't and plays as if the ball were moving. I'm so frustrated I just WAnt the table to work. I have the coffee table by the WAy, the metal one. | |||||
| RE: Twin Peaks Layered Table Art | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| Nice track! The WAy you share (or just store) the tracks you create is in on WebCenter - . Create an account (it is not the same as the account you have on our web site). You can then upload as many tracks as you like. You have complete Control over whether you make a track public or not. If you share it, the content goes through a quick approval (just a check to make sure it does not conflict with our terms of service - things like hate speech, obscenity, etc.), and then is made available for others on our Community. | |||||
| Dynamic Tracks Question | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | birchsport | Community Tracks | |
| A friend mentioned an idea that I think is great, but not sure exactly how to pull it off yet or visualize it. The idea is to incorporate the weather forecast. Maybe have it write out the temp 'HI:57/LO: 42' 'Partly Cloudy', and draw some clouds...or something like that...have a set of prebuilt patterns to piece together to make some renderings. Just thinking out loud...seems like it would be doable. Is there a rest (or other) API for directly uploading a file to the table and triggering it to render? I have seen some projects with table Control as the aim, so seems plausible. Thoughts? Birch | |||||
| HomeKit or Homebridge plug-in? | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | joshr | Other Development | |
| I know whe have basic commands available via Siri shortcuts, but is there any chance we can get actual HomeKit Controls for customizing the Sisyphus table's LED and play/pause commands in the iOS Home app? That WAy we can Control it even when our iPhone's not around. I've had great success with Homebridge, it has added HomeKit capabilities to so many of my IoT/smarthome gadgets, and being able to integrate Sisyphus would be fantastic. I see a few different plugins already that can work with HTTP POST commands, so clearly it's doable. Has there been any di ... | |||||
| RE: Ball gets hung up | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| My guess is that you might have some cumulative position error (tiny errors that add up). This is more likely to happen if you run at high speeds. We're working on some improvements to the motion Control code, that should lessen this likelihood - but in the mean time, you can move (or remove) the plastic ball park by carefully loosening it by prying it up with a non-sharp flat tool (butter knife?). It's held in place by strong double-stick tape. | |||||
| New Erase - Uses second ball to level outer sand rim. | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | legowiz16 | Community Tracks | |
| Hi everyone, I today made an erase track that takes Control of the second ball to assist in pulling sand that has built up on the outer ring inwards towards the center. It isn't perfect but is close and also has a very precise erase pattern to further assist in sand leveling. Let me know if you have any questions. Playtime - 45min | |||||
