| RE: Solution to berm concerns | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| And I shouldn't have assumed you meant from above! It makes sense to grab the magnetic rake from below - if - you have access to the underside of the sand pan. But wood table owners don't (and some people might find getting Down on the floor difficult). But we are indeed working on a potential solution from above, which if it proves feasible, will make a nice accessory. | |||||

| @bruce Yes, the web-app worked well. I recommend that Sisyphus Support take Down the old YouTube video(s) with out-of-date info. Or update them with new descriptions that REALLY highlights the web-app. | |||||
| Table started purring like a cat today... | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | finntoogood | Table Usage | |
| Hey guys, When my table turned on this morning it started making noise like a snoring cat (think dragging a finger Down a whiteboard but every 10 seconds for about 5 seconds), I have already taken it apart and cleaned the underside and the arms but this did not help. Would a change in humidity have caused this? I thought the white pieces were solid plastic | |||||
| RE: Dynamic Tracks Question | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | dithermaster | Community Tracks | |
| Probably icons would be better than text - faster to draw, easier to read. A separate process on the Raspberry Pi could deposit tracks in a folder that the Sisyphus app WAtches, and insert them into the playlist when they appear. Taking it further, you could dedicate the outer 1.5" of your table to "information display" and scale Down all other tracks to play inside them, so the info doesn't get overwritten until the next info update. Bruce, I should retire so I could join your software team! | |||||
| My brand new coffee table lasted a week | 4 Relevance | 5 years ago | Andrewstatham | Table Usage | |
| I got a 36" metal coffee table about 10 days ago. The table worked perfectly for a week until i decided to Download some tracks from the community. I Downloaded 2 tracks and as I WAs uploading them to the table via web browser the upload crashed and that's the last time i ever connected to the table. I have tried EVERYTHING 1. I shut Down my home wifi, WAited 5 minutes, connected to the sisyphus hotspot and it does nothing. No connectivity with app or web browser. 2. I tried forcing the hotspot with the reset button and it WAs the same result. 3. I then d ... | |||||
| Add feature to play 2 designs at a time for more intricate patterns | 4 Relevance | 6 years ago | daleyingst | App Updates | |
| The app updates have been terrific, especially being able to Download tracks from the app. Now everyone can easily do it. I also love listing the drawing time. If there is company coming over, I will choose a design whose write speed matches the socializing time. I don't WAnt visitors fascinated with the table but the track taking longer than their visit to complete. Now I can plan one or more tracks to fill that time. If the talk slows Down , WAtching the table never fails. Sometimes I play a track on top of the previous track. Sometimes the double ... | |||||

And more annoyingly, if I WAit for the Erase track to complete by arriving at Rho 1, then even if I select another single track that BEGINS at Rho 1, the table homes to Rho 0 before going back to Rho 1 to begin the track, leaving me with 2 connection lines before the track begins. | RE: Impact of relative ball size? | 4 Relevance | 6 years ago | john.hughan | Table Customization | |
| Thanks for the prompt and thoughtful reply, Bruce! I'm really looking forward to receiving my coffee table. My question about "stroke" WAs more about whether for example a track designed to move the ball Down, move left, go up, move left, come back Down, and so on might leave a nice column of dunes when played on a "finer point" coffee table, while the Mini's (relatively) larger ball might cause that same track to result in no dunes (or only dunes on either side of the entire path) because the track WAsn't designed to move the ball over far enough between ... | |||||

| I really can't get this to work on an iphone 12. Under default playlist in library I click on the track I WAnt to reorder, I feel the hyptapic feedback and then it becomes highlighted but if I drag my finger up or Down to move it, nothing happens. What am I doing wrong? | |||||

| RE: Delete track capability? | 2 Relevance | 5 years ago | matt2 | App Updates | |
| You can delete a track: click on the track from a playlist or the tracks list in the Library, and you will see a large preview and a list of options (Play, Favorite, etc). Scroll Down if you need to, and Delete is the last option. Nice suggestion on the # of times played too. I'll see about squeezing that in the future. | |||||
| RE: White Light Flickering | 2 Relevance | 6 years ago | tgattis | Table Usage | |
| Replugging wires did not work for me, but what did work is using the app to take Brightness up to the maximum. As soon as I take the level Down even a bit below max, they start strobing/flashing. When I opened it, I noticed I had one bad LED glowing red instead of white like the rest - not sure if that's the cause or not. | |||||

| RE: Sisyphus Programming Guide - So far | 4 Relevance | 7 years ago | dithermaster | Community Tracks | |
| Thanks Ray. Some notes on your document: This paragraph: "All Files must start with a 0,0 or 0,1 position. The end pair of numbers in the file must end with rho value opposite of the rho value in the first pair (if you start with a 0,0 you end with a theta, 0)" says three different and conflicting things. None of them are true. In fact, you must start with rho equal to 0 or 1. The theta values don't matter. The initial theta is treated as a "starting theta" and all subsequent thetas are relative to it. The ending theta does not need to be 0 or the starting theta. This note "There are 2 'types' of instructions that the table can understand based on the difference between the theta values in the next set of instructions in the data set." is also not strictly true. The table only has one type of instruction, and that's a theta, rho pair. It moves that ball to that new position, interpolating in polar coordinates to get there. That's all. There isn't anything special about an erase (except the filename, which makes it run faster). In my path generators some of them think in polar but convert to cartesian, and then all of them subdivide cartesian lines or bezier segments Down until they are small enough and then output them as .thr polar. In that backend I also look for "too small" of polar movements and remove points to keep file sizes Down. The values I use for cartesian subdivison and polar point removal are tuned to not make artifacts, but also not make too big of file. | |||||
| RE: Adding colored LEDs | 4 Relevance | 8 years ago | heropup | Table Customization | |
| ... This WAs the hard part, because you don't WAnt to nick the cable as you're drilling. While working, it helps to peel the fabric cover away and temporarily hold the corners Down using tape. Then I drilled out a hole just large enough to pass the LIFX Z connector. The result WAs fairly clean (but I didn't take photos). It is also superior to the WAy I modified the end table, since the drilling of the hole allows enough space for both connector cables to thread through, so both the original and LIFX strips are controllable. It is GORGEOUS!!!! The whole thing took maybe 30 minutes, most of which WAs spent hacking away at the table. I am certain someone with tools and skills could do it faster and better, but the truth is that you cannot see the damage created unless you take the glass top and the ring off of the table. | RE: Adding colored LEDs | 4 Relevance | 8 years ago | ndhutchison | Table Customization | |
| Having fully disassembled my own table, I'll confirm that it should be entirely possible. There's two WAys depending on how you WAnt to go about things. If you're ok with removing and reconnecting the wires, then you'll be able to feed them up through a small slot in the sand tray. Have a look under your table and you'll see the existing LED wire go through that slot. It's wide enough for the wires, but not for a connector. If you don't mind a little more work, then you can remove the tray entirely. It's held Down with some silicone sealant, so shoul ... | |||||
