| RE: Ultra-fine, ultra-white glass bead sand for pendulums | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | EveryoneIsAnotherYou | Table Customization | |
| Thank you for the feedback! There is some interesting Info in your reply. I’m going to try the fine white pendulum glass sand I posted above, as I suspect it’s the same as what I’ve seen in gallery pendulums. (I’ll try it with the bearing on a dinner plate to start before I rush to vacuum out the original sand.) This sand is bright white from what I recall, and very fine texture but not quite dust-like. I will post pictures and my feedback if I decide to use it in the table. | |||||

| @asjolund - This is the right place to post! Thanks for relay this Info - we learn far faster from our growing user experience. I'm not familiar with the Qi charger specs, but will pass this along to our embedded systems engineer to see whether this is a limitation of the Raspberry Pi, our control board (which powers the Pi), or Qi chargers in general. | Lost Connectivity after flashing new firmware. | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | richard_saada | Connectivity | |
| ... I can find for identifying what table you have. Is my original kickstarter table a 36" coffee table? A 36" Servo? I guessed 36" coffee table, but who knows? This would be a useful Info to have on the reflash page for when it tells you to set the config file. So I got the chip back in, and rebooted, connected to the table's wifi, did the advanced config to set the table type, and set the Information to connect to my home WIFI. The machine restarted, and now I'm stuck. The app can't find it while scanning. My Unifi router shows it's connected and give me ... | |||||

On the firmware, we do not auto update. However, a couple possible explanations occurred to me. When loading the app it always checks for an update and prompts you to update. Is it possible this WAs clicked through without fully reading? Are there any others in your residence connecting to the table that may have triggered an update inadvertently or otherwise? | The initial connection that I have been trying via wireless does not seem to work. Out of the box, is the hard-wired Ethernet port enabled and does it have s static IP address? If so, can someone please share what it is. About to dive in and trying to collect all of the Info that I can. Thanks!

| I ran into a problem with my Sisbot (I suspect a misshapen tooth on the Rho sled, but hopefully your team can pinpoint the issue when I return it). I should be replacing it by this weekend (emailed results of troubleshooting Sunday night, Monday got an email that new Sisbot WAs being sent, Tuesday got the tracking Info, today Thursday it's supposed to arrive, very nice!) and I presume the new one will come with a new SD card installed. I WAs on 1.10.something before and will see what I can do with new uploads. Thanks @brobbins for the suggestion of one at a ... | |||||

| Thanks for the Info Bruce. It is a bit confusing on the user end. Should we always apply a firmware update if it shows available (even or odd numbered)? I don’t think I am on any beta testing program. Right now my app states 1.10.1 is available, my table still at 1.8. Are there any release notes posted for what this contains? | |||||

| Thanks for the Info... I have also found that the best WAy to convert xy to polar is by determining the offset angle between point 1, and point 2, and then adding (or subtracting that angle to the current theta angle (of point 1) This is good because it does not matter "where" the points are, and theta can be anything to start. (so if you start with a erase track that ends at theta 450, the code will continue from there at 450ish) Programatically it goes like this (btw concept taken from sisbot code models.js "angleBetween") Where X1Y1 is point ... | |||||

I'll continue with a little bit more off topic as heropup did. I toyed around with sisyphus for the rest of us, and wintopo today. Using some mandala images I WAs able to get a couple of fairly basic tracks created, but nothing as complex as I feel can be accomplished in other WAys. | Hi CuttlefishPi - We ran into an issue in a business setting, where having a Raspberry Pi connected to the business WiFi WAs a problem for their security department - especially with the default password in place. I've emailed you the password (to the address you gave when joining the forum). Let us know if you have any problem connecting. | Thanks, Ross - nothing could be better than positive feedback, plus great suggestions for the future! Everything you mentioned is absolutely feasible and something I've thought of before - except - the clean display of Track Info (and data per user choice) that is external to the mobile / browser GUI. That is brilliant! Done right (as you say, "museum title card") it could be a fantastic option. If you or anyone else has the skillset and desire to work on something like this, we will definitely support it!

| Posted by: Robin Where did you get the Info on the webrequests? Is there a documentation for that? What would be the request for changes in lighting? This probably deserves its own thread at this point, but I'm very interested in the same answer. Thanks to Cameron I now have "play" and "pause" working on one of my Flic buttons. On another, I'd love to be able to adjust the LED brightness level (0, 0.5, 1, etc.), as well as perhaps initiate an "erase" pattern. What are these web requests? Is there a published list somewhere? Because other options I'd like to see are: - adjust movement speed (0, 0.5, 1, etc.) -sleep -wake -shuffle -loop | |||||

| Posted by: Cameron I've been working on a Physical button to click to unpause between tracks, I started thinking about an IFTTT Integration but then your Sisyphus would need to be exposed to the internet, I have a Flic button now working so you can press the button to Unpause the Sisyphus and have it start the new track. In the Flic app on your phone that the Bluetooth button connects to, Set up an Internet Request, Set the type to Post address set to Unpause address>/sisbot/playPause address>/sisbot/pause Body is {"data":{}} content type is application/json Save it and now when you press the flic button you can unpause the Sisyphus and start the next track. | RE: Mac downloads .thr files as HTML or TXT | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | mgraf68 | Table Customization | |
| Oh it's no hassle at all Bruce, I kinda figured it WAs mostly user learning/error. As long as there is a ZIP available, I for sure can do it that WAy. Interesting enough, the files within Juggler's ZIP show up on my Mac as executable type files, whereas the one I downloaded from the Github raw using my Chrome Browser save as shows up as a blank icon .thr file. (File Info screenshots attached). Whether this has any difference to how they are interpreted by my Sis - I have no idea. I have uploaded them both to my table and we will see. Others I end up having an error like the attached. One time on a custom track upload (forget which one) I had the table go into a noisy chattering mode like it WAs skipping gear teeth and scared the heck out of me that I broke it. So I am not entirely sure removing the file extensions is the right WAy to fix this problem. Thanks, mark Attachment : Scr ... | |||||

| @ndhutchison This is great Info! What kind of strip did you use? Did you add a driver? @hunterdubose The process above should certainly work well if you're comfortable modding your table as such. You may have difficulty with the Hue strip if the cable coming off is large. As @ndhutchison mentioned, I'm sure the connector won't fit through the slot in the pan so you may need to splice the wires or break the silicone seal. I imagine advising customers to modify our product is not the best business practice. But hey, I'm a hacker at heart so I'd love to see some pictures and hear how it goes! I'd be happy to answer any additional questions here, but I'll ping you via email if you prefer that. | |||||
