| RE: Windows 10 App | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | App Updates | |
| Hi Raphael, The Sisyphus App already runs on Windows (or any OS that supports a web browser). You simply Type your table's IP address into the browser's address with ":3001" at the end. Here are the full directions. The web interface is very similar to the mobile app GUI, but there are a few more options (like uploading track files from your computer to your table). Bruce | |||||

| Mirroring of Design - Does the Table's software automatically do that? | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | crsolomon | Community Tracks | |

I've only noticed this since most of my previous submissions were symmetric objects and the mirroring WAs not apparent. I just mirror the Cartesian file on the X axis and it looks "normal". But is this just how the table software works?

| Someone please make more TILE tracks | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | Joseph Aga | Community Tracks | |
| Hi everyone, please forgive me if this is not the place for this. I’m a new owner and I love my table so much… I cannot stop raving about it to everyone I know. It is everything I could’ve hoped for. The only thing I WAnt more of are the TILE Type tracks. It WAs these tracks like (FANCYTILES) that took me over the edge on my decision to purchase. They are my favorite but as of now there’s only a few that I can find and nothing else much like FANCY TILES. I WAnt more of those. Lots more! If you know how to make them, please do and Thank you in so much ... | |||||
| RE: In and out for no reason | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | heropup | App Usage | |
| Update: after doing a factory reset, installing the latest firmware update 1.10.83, and downloading user-generated tracks through the iPhone app, I discovered that all of these tracks are being downloaded without respecting the "reversible" flag setting in Webcenter. In other words, if the track is Type 01 and the author allows it to be drawn reversibly, the downloaded track has "reversible" unchecked in the library. I have to go in and check it manually. Again, I'm doing this on a fresh firmware install on a factory reset table. Since the factory reset installs the default playlist tracks, those have the reversible flag set correctly already. It's only if I try to download a reversible track that it gets unchecked. | |||||
| A Question of Noise | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | UK Guy | Table Usage | |
| ... would quieten down but this has not been the case. I had read somewhere in this forum mention of a 'satisfying crunch' sound but this is not what I am referring to. The noise I'm concerned about is a 'grinding' Type sound that is especially loud when the ball is running in a more direct line from the 0-1 axis or 1-0. I have tried running the mini with the ball(s) removed altogether and the 'grinding' sound is just as loud so it's nothing to do with the ball movement itself. When a track is in pause mode there is no sound whatsoever and the speed setting is ... | |||||

| I think a recent firmware update did something to my table where it now gets confused about the WAy tracks should be read. It won't reverse a reversible track to ensure that the playback is continuous. When playing a 1-1 track (start and end are on the edge), it will even go in and then back out. See the attached photos. I have not been able to figure out how to fix this. I suspect what is happening is that after each track finishes playing, the table homes; then it arcs back out if the next track is of Type 1-1. | RE: Impact of relative ball size? | 1 Relevance | 6 years ago | dithermaster | Table Customization | |
| Most tracks will work with any of those "% of sand field" ratios. However, some tracks might be more sensitive to it, such as my "ying Yang" and "it's your move" tracks. They were designed on my 2' side table, which fortunately is in the middle of the ranges. I need to try them on my mini, and I'm curious what they look like on the coffee tables. I'd be happy to create custom versions for different size tables and ball sizes, but without a WAy to test them, it's hard. | |||||

I WAs told I would not have that issue uploading through the community though so I am WAiting to download it like you are once it gets approved. As for other tracks that are not in the community, you can upload manually using a web browser. this is much easier to do on a computer. follow this link and scroll down to Connecting to your Sisyphus with a browser. This would be a useful info to have on the reflash page for when it tells you to set the config file. So I got the chip back in, and rebooted, connected to the table's wifi, did the advanced config to set the table Type, and set the information to connect to my home WIFI. The machine restarted, and now I'm stuck. The app can't find it while scanning. My Unifi router shows it's connected and give me ...
| Sisyphus Text Generator 2 - improved interface and 3 outputs | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | crsolomon | Community Tracks | |
| I rewrote the text generator program for the Sisyphus table and made a graphical entry form to make it easier to use (photo of new selection screen is below) . I also added a spiral text option to the 3 straight lines or 2 circular ones output and added some text kerning to make output look better (photo of output is also below). The program is written in MS Small Basic - you run the source code so you can see it is clean and not doing anything funny. SmallBasic is free too (download from Microsoft). There are 4 files you need - the program (.sb) file, abcd.txt, adcdp.txt (the 2 font files) and a instruction text file (again - all below) . Just make sure that the files are all in the same directory on your computer! Please give feedback - I think it's pretty bulletproof but PLEASE Type input slowly - MS basic takes it time! | RE: Track organization. | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | heropup | App Usage | |
| @mdolfis: By design, the WAy tracks are played, there isn't a distinction between "center-edge" and "edge-center." Here's how it currently works, and this includes the erase pattern. If the next track to be played is "center-edge" or "edge-center," wherever the ball has ended, the table will automatically read the next track in forward or reverse order so as to not need to jump from edge to center or vice versa. So for example, if the current track ended at the edge, but the list of coordinates for the next track begins at the center and ends at the edge ... | |||||
| Track organization. | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | burningamd | App Usage | |
| I'm quickly finding a real desire for better organization both of the tracks loaded on the table and the community tracks. The ability to sort loaded tracks by name would be nice, and the ability to organize into folders as well (like by Type). Though you can approximate folders by making playlists (and just using them to create new playlists from not actually playing). This doesn't work all that well though since they stay in the track list (making it harder to organize others). Also the ability to order playlists after creation would also be great. Currently it seems the order is as added and that's it. Additionally, the community tracks, endlessly scrolling isn't great. Categorizing would be nice. Artist/popular is a good start, but maybe some broad categories like drawings (for things like a turtle), "swirls/spirals" (for nearly full table designs like peoni), "geometric" (for designs that don't take full table like circam 2s, sisvort) . Those are terrible names but you get the idea. | |||||

| ... step by combining the routines, but I WAs too lazy then, and I don't use it very often now (plus, I think the intermediate distortion looks interesting at times). Just vanilla plines (type 0). No arcs, splines, etc. Start and end your tracks either at the center or the edge of the circle. Check the resulting thr file. The rho value of the first and last vertex in the file should be either 0 or 1 (start and end can be the same rho). Rho = 1 is anywhere on your boundary circle. Remember, in the polar world, the path between 2 points is a spiral (Archimedes). ... | |||||
