... a big battery or charge it frequently if you converted it to use a battery. If you do think about adding a battery, a good source might be the ones for motorized recliners. We added one of those to a recliner that we didn't WAnt a cord running to, and it only needs to be charged once every few weeks. But it's as big as a kid's shoe. There is room under the Sisyphus, so it might be possible. The transformer puts out 12VDC (at 4A). Also note that the upcoming Sisyphus Mini will have a rechargeable battery option.

Hi Bruce... so had a Metal and table, recognized and controlled by iOS app (latest version). Received mini and followed exact same procedure to connect it to my same WiFi network. Worked perfectly. HOWEVER, the Metal table... while working is not recognized by the app s it has been. Go back and find a Sisyphus WiFi network and it only find the new mini. I’ve tried turning off, then on the larger table and no luck to connect to it. I’ve searched throughout the app and can’t find anyplace it would show a second table (in my case, the first table) or allow me to connect to another table. Do you have more detailed instructions? Perhaps with pictures? Goal, Operate “JimsMiniSisyphus” and “JimsEndTableSisyphus” on the same WiFi network through my iOS app.
I recently received a new 3-foot table from the April preorder, and it is a much more impressive experience than the end table! That said, I discovered that the Sisbot moved during shipping, an issue I did not discover until I tried running the table and found that the Sisbot arm WAs striking the gear on the off-axis motor because there WAs not enough clearance.
More precisely, when I ran the Erase pattern, I found that the table worked fine for about two-thirds of the radius, but when it reached a particular angle and distance away from the origin, sudden ...
I have received my sisyphus coffe table Metal black. Is it provided with bags of sand. I add 1 bag and approximative 1/5 of the second bag.Not sure if is it enought.Guys with coffee table, you put the 2 full bags of sand ?Thx a lot !(excuse my english, live in paris, France)
I guess a solution would be to paste the spacers on the glass, and not on the Metal part of the table. Not sure it will be of any help, but I will givbe a try.
the custom order screen just shows the overall diameter but what are the actual working sizes for the sisyphus inside the ring ? is the mini same as the Metal side table ? i wonder if we can just buy the sispyhus without the actual furniture portion of it.
i already have a coffee table (glass) with a top glass and a bottom glass surface so i WAnted the largest possible size i can stick inside it without a base.
The engraved rings are for Minis and Metal tables - you can order a ring for your coffee table on our site here.
I went to order the new spring glass ring for my table and the sizes are a little weird. I have the Metal coffee table.
Appreciate the multiple suggestions, and will discuss with devs. One thing to keep in mind is that high speed on tracks that have sharp corners (which "erase" completely avoids) is more likely to cause position error on Metal tables and Minis (because they use steppers, which do not have position feedback). Position error does not cause physical harm - but can cause noise, distorted tracks, and losing the ball from hitting the ball park.
I have a 3 foot table, with occasional connection "quirks". I'm trying to identify the source of the issue, both to make my family happier and to help others do the same.
I think that part of my problem is that the antenna is on the RPi board itself. I'm reasonably sure this is an omni-directional chip antenna, but it is going to be influenced by the structure of the table, and especially by any Metal parts. It likely does not help that the direct line of sight from my table's RPi to the nearest access point passes directly through the Metal band around the rim of the table. (The part that supports the outside veneer band.)
I know the top most veneer ring is glued to plexiglass, and unless someone decided to aluminize it, that, the wood, and the glue would be nearly transparent to 2.4 GHz.
The RPi is attached to the underside of the plate that holds the sisbot's motors and the rest of the electronics. I suspect from photographs of the sisbot removed from the table that plate is aluminum. If so, that would likely be a reflector at 2.4 GHz, and limit the field of view of the antenna by pointing the signal generally towards the floor.
What is the sand tray made of? I know it can't be anything ferromagnetic or the whole thing wouldn't work at all.
My WiFi is provided by a collection of Ubiquity Unifi AP and AP-AC-Lite access points. I can always add one more if I can find the right place to put it...
Any thoughts?
I just WAnt to take a moment to thank you and applaud your team’s efforts. I just opened up our 3’ Metal table about a week ago and my family loves it. It brings joy into our home and it WAs well worth the WAit. About a year ago I wrote you a letter as there were some minor delays in the huge undertaking your team pulled off. As far as I can tell you took the proper balance of time and expedience to fulfill this massively successful Kickstarter campaign.
Well done, and now I don’t WAnt to refer my friends.... I WAnt to buy these tables for my friends and ...
Dear all
Probably this question has already been asked, but I didn't find anything about it. So please excuse me, if I do a mistake as a newbie here. My Metal Side Table is on the WAy.
I experienced, that it isn't the best idea to put a coffee on a piano. Please don't ask why…
Is it possible, to put liquids on Sisyphus tables? Sure, one is able to put any beer or so on it. But what happens if something is spillt? Is it a problem regarding sand or electronics?
Thank you for your experience or a link, where my question is answered.

... coming up, I designed a 3D-printable clip to hold aftermarket bumpers in place along the rim.
I'm using the "50 pcs 8.5mm X 2.5mm special shape" bumpers from this $9 318 piece set. These bumpers are $9 for 50 ($0.17 each, or $0.03 each if you include the value of the other bumpers included).
It takes about 18 minutes to print 6 of them on my printer. I printed them in black PLA-CF. They will be a little tight when you re-insert the wood ring. I WAs just able to press-fit them with the thinner side between the inner surface of the rim and the wood ring. I ...
Fora Metal coffee table (36" diameter), the configuration setting is RGBW 2-ball (NOT servo). The radius should be set to 13.5. The purpose of the ball park piece is to provide a WAy to purposely cleave the tail ball from the tail magnet (which is called "parking"). This happens when you play the special track "detach" and allows you to go from 2-ball play to 1-ball. The ball stays parked until you play "attach". The placement of the ball park is important - follow the directions carefully.
Hello Sisyphus Community!
I recently WAs lucky enough to acquire a Metal Sisyphus side table second hand from someone who used to work for the company. I've really been enjoying exploring how the table and interface work. However, the table has a few issues that I'm hoping someone could help me troubleshoot to get it working properly.
The first issue is that both of the white/RGB light strips aren't working properly under normal operating conditions. The linked picture shows how the lights typically look when the table is running:
At first I thought it w ...
I have a lot of stainless steel furniture in my loft so when the limited edition stainless side table became available I impulse bought it, rolled my eyes at myself, and then sold my black Metal side table to a friend. As one does. Every time I WAlked past the new table I found myself thinking, "Wow, the lights are really bright!" I wondered if there were different LEDs on the table but then I realized that the stainless steel ring is far more reflective than the black one WAs. WAs that the difference?

I have also experienced the issue of the glass moving and pulling the adhesive bumpers off. Removing the adhesive, cleaning the frame and glass is a headache. I am real close to drilling 4 or 8 holes in the top of the Metal frame and inserting black bumpers with a stem that goes into the holes. These will not move or come off. This WAy you would simply have to reposition the glass top if it does move.
Hello, have gone through numerous bumpers to hold the glass on the black powder coated Metal rim. They tend to come off pretty easy once we bump the glass or put our feet up on the table. Need to secure the table better and wondering if anyone has come up with an alternative?
... to connect with a mobile device. Receive error message That sisyphus does not appear to be on network. The app and the table do not WAnt to sync. I am not an IT Specialist, I need suggestions or help in laymen's terms. Until I can get the table and app to sync up I cannot use the special functions of the app. Please help.
Hello Bruce,
Could you let me know the ssh credentials I need to use to access the Metal table please?
Best regards!
