| ... this configuration -- so either this is a DIY change made by the prior owner, or it WAs a beta table of one of our employees, from early trials of colored lighting in our shop. We can't provide a quick diagnosis or fix without further info. 2 - from your picture, your coffee table "thinks" it's an end table (smaller field). This should be easy to fix by changing the table's configuration. First, make sure your table is running the latest firmware by doing a firmware update (in settings). To change table configurations go to Settings > Advanced > tap ... | |||||

| Hello Sisyphus Community! I recently WAs lucky enough to acquire a metal Sisyphus side table second hand from someone who used to work for the company. I've really been enjoying exploring how the table and interface work. However, the table has a few issues that I'm hoping someone could help me troubleshoot to get it working properly. The first issue is that both of the white/RGB light strips Aren't working properly under normal operating conditions. The linked picture shows how the lights typically look when the table is running: At first I thought it w ... | |||||
| RE: Track corruption on restore -- please add Backup/Restore | 5 Relevance | 4 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| Ok thanks. But to be clear, the improper shutdown occurred after I shut down, then plugged it back in and saw no activity after the blue ring animation, and THEN simply unplugged it. So in that case it WAs expected. The part that WAsn't expected WAs the fact that the initial boot attempt didn't seem to get past the blue ring animation. But if users should WAit some period of time after performing the shutdown in the app before pulling the power cord, it might be worth indicating that on the app itself, even if it's an estimate-based message like, "Please ... | |||||

| @markr - When we were evaluating the option of adding color to our lighting, I did look at DotStar (APA102/SK98225) vs. NeoPixel (SK6812). At the time, I think DotStar did not offer a RGB+W option, which made the choice to use NeoPixels a no-brainer. Also, the Python library that controls RGBW Neo's works great on a Pi. And since our tables / Minis Aren't moving through space quickly (hopefully :), the higher refresh rate of the DotStar offers no advantage (POV). I don't think it would be easy to connect DotStars to our table, since they require 4 wires (not three), and have different timing specs. Be happy to learn if that's incorrect. | |||||

| So, the generated representation of tracks often Aren't a great representation of how it turns out. So I've been taking pictures of finished tracks and putting them in an album. Format is picture of track followed by screenshot of name. | |||||
| RE: Both balls joining together and not separating | 5 Relevance | 6 years ago | akraut | Table Usage | |
| I've experienced this, as well. After putting the large ball in the center and the small in the ball-catch, the first thing the table seems to do is grab the large ball, and put it in the ball-catch on the same side as the small ball, then they're both dropped off, stuck together, and Aren't driven around the field. I fixed it manually by starting the erase track, then placing the large ball in the center again. | |||||

| I guess there Aren't to many Dead Heads in the forum. Here is my stab at this. Is there a known WAy to take AutoCad drawings (.dwg or .dxf) files and convert them to .thr files? I think this would look better using a table with minimal sand. Attachment : GD_US_Blues.thr | |||||

| ... space, but fills the table with a multi-turn spiral! Most of the built-in tracks never existed as SVG; that's something they added as a WAy to bring in user-generated tracks. Also, most of the "algorithmic" user tracks Aren't done using SVG. SVG is best suited to "drawn" tracks, using Illustrator or some other software. WAtch the "how to make tracks" videos from Sisyphus for ideas on how to start making your own. Good luck and have fun! | |||||

| ... "Next Up" add "Just Finished" so that when I WAlk up to the table and see something amazing being overwritten I can easily note what I missed so I can play it again. 2. With the disclaimer that I realize this is a very non-trivial thing to code - a guy can dream, right? Similar to how the "Attach" and "Detach" files work, have customizable "Settings" files that you could edit and add to Playlists. The Settings file would let you change any available settings (and, some day, ones that Aren't available yet...like "email me when the track is complete") so you ... | |||||

| A carriage approaches! Mechanical build is coming along nicely. I have a laser cut turntable with 480 teeth, slide mechanism is bonded precisely using alignment holes. I have the optical limit for theta using a short piece of black zip tie. Now the hard part: I have to get this precision machine to mate to the table that is anything but precise. The band isn't round, or even oval. It is kind of egg shaped? The legs Aren't at 90°, and there are only 4 screws holding down the top, but 5 holes. Time to abandon the futuristic machinery in favor of old fashioned paper templates. Attachment : Undercarriage.jpg | |||||

| ... Anyway, some photos are attached comparing the detail. This sand had the following problems: 1. You need to remove or gently crush some globs that form in the bag (I didn’t, which is why my track looks chunky). 2. The sand contains microscopic bits of iron (probably from the manufacturing process) that cling to the magnetic ball and eventually need to be removed. 3. It is so fine that mistakes and ball-tracks in the design show, that Aren’t supposed to show. 4. It is so fine it looks fake, like moon dust or the playa dust of Burning Man. | ... to the actual lower range and/or step intervals the light strip is capable of. On my table, the slider needs to be pretty much on the right half of the control for there to be light, and many “steps” the slider travels don’t raise or reduce the light level. Maybe there is a WAy to “trim” the light and make the slider dim accurately with the light strips. (Minor quibble, as light level is one of those things you usually don’t adjust often, after it’s been set once.) | |||||
