| Track corruption on restore -- please add Backup/Restore | 3 Relevance | 5 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| I recently had to reimage my table's SD card to get my coffee table running properly After it had been shut down for several days while WAiting for a replacement LED strip that I installed After the original strip failed. After reimaging the SD card, I followed instructions I had previously received from Sisyphus Support for restoring tracks and playlists. I had previously backed up "/home/pi/sisbot-server/sisbot/content", and to restore them, I SSH'd to the table, ran "sudo killall node", and then used WinSCP (an SFTP client) to delete the existing files ... | |||||
| RE: Table now locking up on a regular basis | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| Hi Micah, Thanks for the response and commitment to working towards a resolution. One thing that occurred to me After I made that post is that the only change I made to how I used the table shortly before observing this issue is that in addition to having the "Pause between tracks" option enabled, as I often do, I enabled the "Restart After 15 minutes" option as well, which I had never done. The table seemed to work fine with that for a few days, if memory serves, and then I started having these issues. Thinking that might be the culprit, I disabled that option, but the issues persisted once or twice per day. So then I also disabled "Pause between tracks", which is how I'm running now. And for the moment, things seem to be ok, although since the issue only seemed to happen at the end of tracks and many of the tracks I run tend to take 4-10 hours to play, my sample size isn't very large yet. But if the issue reappears, I'll report back with logs. If on the other hand the table continues to behave, I may try enabling those pause and restart options again in an attempt to reproduce the issue and write a solid problem report. But in the immediate term, I think I'm going to spend some time just enjoying the table working normally rather than debugging it. Looking forward to an upcoming firmware update that will offer a graceful shutdown and apparently offer more built-in resilience to unexpected outages. On that subject, adding a UPS isn't really in the cards for me. It wouldn't work well in the space where my table is located, and frankly it's just not something I'd consider for a non-critical item in my home as a workaround to an issue that really shouldn't exist anyway. Electronic devices I have that are far more complex manage to have a very high probability of recovering properly After an unexpected outage, so I don't see why that shouldn't be possible for this table. Anyhow, thanks again for the reply. I'll be in touch if I can provide any additional information to help chase this down. | |||||

| Is there any additional information I can provide to help bring this to resolution? I'm going to see if I can record the reset/reboot process to see if that scrolling text gives yall any more information. Also is there any other restore process I can try? I have an expensive toy that I used all of 10 times before being updated that essentially bricked it. | |||||

| Hi, I tried the suggested process, including the hard reset option, twice; and it doesn't seem to have helped. With the hard reset, I got the flashing LED, it went through short boot/reset and then went back to the normal boot process. But nothing seemed to have changed. The wi-fi name is still Sisyphus-Jeff and my phone is registering the same prior IP address of 169.254.51.61 and wont connect to the table. | |||||
| Feature Request - Erase Between Tracks | 3 Relevance | 6 years ago | apisdorf | App Updates | |
| ... occur After the previous track completes but not also After the erase occurs. I would also suggest that you allow the user to select the track they WAnt to use for the erase. For instance, I like to use spmrph1r for erases rather than the actual Erase track. This functionality would make a big difference to me because I like seeing each pattern without the previous pattern underneath it. And setting that up now would require creating a playlist with an erase track between each actual track. That would be painful to create. It would also mean that a paus ... | |||||
| 3D Printed Glass Bumper Clips | 3 Relevance | 3 years ago | Jeff V | Table Customization | |
| ... coming up, I designed a 3D-printable clip to hold Aftermarket bumpers in place along the rim. I'm using the "50 pcs 8.5mm X 2.5mm special shape" bumpers from this $9 318 piece set. These bumpers are $9 for 50 ($0.17 each, or $0.03 each if you include the value of the other bumpers included). It takes about 18 minutes to print 6 of them on my printer. I printed them in black PLA-CF. They will be a little tight when you re-insert the wood ring. I WAs just able to press-fit them with the thinner side between the inner surface of the rim and the wood ring. I ... | |||||

| Understand your frustration - worry not - we'll get your table working again. First though, I WAnt to stress that this forum is not the place for troubleshooting. We have an expert support team for that - here. The likely problem you have with the new image, is that you have not changed the configuration to match the table you have. The downloadable image is configured for a side table with RGBW LEDs. I'm guessing you have white LEDs and not a side table. To change your configuration to the correct one, follow the steps in this article (the last part). If ... | |||||

| Matt relayed that an SD card change is the next step. If you are willing / able, here are the instructions for re-imaging: Otherwise, we will ship one out - please contact our support team: (If a new SD card doesn't work it suggests something wrong with the Pi's radio, and we will ship out a replacement Sisbot to swap in). | |||||

| Jeff, The IP address you typed here is one number off. It should be 192.168.42.1 when connected to the table's own wifi network. As for your app, when you say it says "No Internet" is that the phone's OS telling you that, or is it the black screen that says "Waiting for Wifi Connection..."? Thanks, Matt | |||||

Bluetooth: EnabledWi-Fi: sysphus The connection reports No Internet and constantly spins, never connecting. I can force it to connect by changing the Configure IP from Automatic to Manual. | Thanks for the reply Matt. I just received this table last week though, so I'm not sure why I wouldn't have had the 2BallDemo playlist out of the box, or why I had the Fox1warp1 track. Maybe the Sisbot on my table WAs pre-loaded a long time ago? I didn't realize that the iOS app stored some client-side settings. I thought it WAs essentially a view into an entirely table-hosted UI given that when I go to the table's IP on my PC's web browser, I see virtually the same interface, and I can even browse the Community from there without having to log in on the ... | |||||
