@dithermaster Well, we don't "recommend" such a method - but if you're not too boisterous, it shouldn't cause harm. And I certainly have noted this on clumsy accidental occasions. However, I don't think constant vibration will achieve a level field. When I tried it (way long ago), it resulted in a fractal Landscape of branching ravines. Actually pretty cool - but that's different kinetic piece altogether 🙂

If possible, can you create a WAy for people that use a browser to access their table as opposed to a smart device to utilize more screen real estate and add in the ability to drag and drop tracks from one playlist to another? It would make creating playlists WAy easier than having to remember names and keep going back and forth between lists to look for new ones. The browser version has plenty of space to do this since you created a portrait style interface in a Landscape layout [something like the attached image where you drag from all tracks to whatever p ...

I used node-red running on a RasPi to connect my Sisyphus to HomeKit. I can see the tables state and change brightness and speed and send it into sleep mode. It's all mapped as "lights" in homekit, but it works, see picture. It uses the HomeKit-bridged-nodes (). Flows are pasted below (import to node red), you need to set the IP in every HTTP node to your table's local IP. We love this table, but have some concerns before placing our Order, and hoping you experienced users (or support folks) can answer: 1. Is the only power source for the table a cord to a WAll socket, or is the table "chargeable"? Seems having a cord run from table to WAll would be at best inconvenient and at worst a tripping hazzard. No cords in any of the photos. 2. The site has instructions for adding oil to the mechanism, removing the sand, etc. How often are such maintenance tasks required? Thank you!

The only WAy to have absolute control of vertex Order is to create the track by "hand" (draw it using vector software), or to use an algorithmic approach to making the points that creates them in a specific Order.

I have a new mini with which I WAnt to experiment with different ball sizes. I'm not sure which ball bearing Material I need to use. Stainless steel is generally not highly attracted to magnets, but this is what most of the ball bearing variety kits are made of. What Material (or stainless steel grade) are the balls that come with the Sisyphus made of, and what other Materials/grades will also work?

We understand your frustrations - which is why we've discontinued two-ball mode as a "standard" feature (it can still be Ordered as an add-on). Despite our concerted efforts to make it bullet proof, we haven't been able to make it 100% reliable. It's extremely unforgiving (as you've experienced) - any travel past Rho = 1 is at risk of hitting it. And yes, Community tracks may have out of bounds vertices, but they "should" be caught and clamped to 1 by our software. It's evidently not working all the time (and not every user has updated to the most recent firmware). In answer to your question: The ballpark is affixed using strong double-edged tape (carpet tape). To remove it, carefully work a "blade" (butter knife) in between it and the cushion Material it's stuck to. Gently pry the ballpark upward while holding the cushion Material down at the rising edge of the ballpark so the cushion separates from it (and isn't pulled up with it).

Thanks @dithermaster for doing such a great job answering @lilia 's query. We have a very good track record with our "Ssbot" mechanism being reliable and quiet - but on rare occasions we've had reports of different types of sound. The "pinion lubrication" tutorial WAs made to fix one of those if it arises. For the majority of users, no routine maintenance has been needed. As for running a full size table using a 12V battery, we have done some trials using Lithium packs sold on Amazon. The majority of the power consumed is by the LED lighting. My personal fee ...

1.12.04 update is out. With it, on the homepage, you can click on "Connections" in the Next Up heading to view the track flow and information on their start/end (rho) values. The table will do its best to play smoothly, but depending on the Order and track values, it is not always possible. The queue will let you rearrange the track Order yourself if you WAnt to fix the upcoming Order manually.

First off - although I'm pretty sure when it comes to sand plotting, I have more area under the curve than most - I'm no authority. But with regard to compexity - I would divide it, for now, into those tracks that are generated algorithmically, and those not. So the pumpkin track, and any tracks that you recognize (including text), are non-algorithmic. All the others -'crop circles', spikey or swirly/loopy spirals, and fractals - are created via multilayered recipes (instructions) -aka algorithms. Both branches are infinite design spaces. Markyland created Sisyphus For The Rest Of Us so that people could more easily explore non-alg space. If you're interested in algorithmic pattern space - start googling. All you need to do is place the connect-the-dots in the right Order :).

I have found that if I put the table to sleep while the table is paused, WAking the table on its own does not cause the lights to come back on. The ball must move first in Order for that to happen. Unfortunately, this means that if I have "Pause after each track" enabled and put the table to sleep at the end of a track, I can't WAke it up with lighting to see the completed track without moving the ball first. @rick-yeh This is definitely not normal function -- I will alert our support team, but also, please start a ticket so we can keep track of it: follow up: Support is already working with you (they suspect the dust is from the cardboard WAffle-board padding which we cut to size in our shop) and have relayed instructions for removing it and inspecting the low-friction pad on the magnet for signs of wear or foreign Material. Rest assured - we will make sure the problem is fixed!

	I used node-red running on a RasPi to connect my Sisyphus to HomeKit. I can see the tables state and change brightness and speed and send it into sleep mode. 	We love this table, but have some concerns before placing our Order, and hoping you experienced users (or support folks) can answer: 1. Is the only power source for the table a cord to a WAll socket, or is the table "chargeable"? Seems having a cord run from table to WAll would be at best inconvenient and at worst a tripping hazzard. No cords in any of the photos. 2. The site has instructions for adding oil to the mechanism, removing the sand, etc. How often are such maintenance tasks required? Thank you!

The only WAy to have absolute control of vertex Order is to create the track by "hand" (draw it using vector software), or to use an algorithmic approach to making the points that creates them in a specific Order.

	I have a new mini with which I WAnt to experiment with different ball sizes. I'm not sure which ball bearing Material I need to use. Stainless steel is generally not highly attracted to magnets, but this is what most of the ball bearing variety kits are made of. What Material (or stainless steel grade) are the balls that come with the Sisyphus made of, and what other Materials/grades will also work?

	We understand your frustrations - which is why we've discontinued two-ball mode as a "standard" feature (it can still be Ordered as an add-on). Despite our concerted efforts to make it bullet proof, we haven't been able to make it 100% reliable. It's extremely unforgiving (as you've experienced) - any travel past Rho = 1 is at risk of hitting it. And yes, Community tracks may have out of bounds vertices, but they "should" be caught and clamped to 1 by our software. It's evidently not working all the time (and not every user has updated to the most recent firmware). In answer to your question: The ballpark is affixed using strong double-edged tape (carpet tape). To remove it, carefully work a "blade" (butter knife) in between it and the cushion Material it's stuck to. Gently pry the ballpark upward while holding the cushion Material down at the rising edge of the ballpark so the cushion separates from it (and isn't pulled up with it).

	Thanks @dithermaster for doing such a great job answering @lilia 's query. We have a very good track record with our "Ssbot" mechanism being reliable and quiet - but on rare occasions we've had reports of different types of sound. The "pinion lubrication" tutorial WAs made to fix one of those if it arises. For the majority of users, no routine maintenance has been needed. As for running a full size table using a 12V battery, we have done some trials using Lithium packs sold on Amazon. The majority of the power consumed is by the LED lighting. My personal fee ...

	1.12.04 update is out. With it, on the homepage, you can click on "Connections" in the Next Up heading to view the track flow and information on their start/end (rho) values. The table will do its best to play smoothly, but depending on the Order and track values, it is not always possible. The queue will let you rearrange the track Order yourself if you WAnt to fix the upcoming Order manually.

We added one of those to a recliner that we didn't WAnt a cord running to, and it only needs to be charged once every few weeks. But it's as big as a kid's shoe. First off - although I'm pretty sure when it comes to sand plotting, I have more area under the curve than most - I'm no authority. But with regard to compexity - I would divide it, for now, into those tracks that are generated algorithmically, and those not. So the pumpkin track, and any tracks that you recognize (including text), are non-algorithmic. All the others -'crop circles', spikey or swirly/loopy spirals, and fractals - are created via multilayered recipes (instructions) -aka algorithms. Both branches are infinite design spaces. Markyland created Sisyphus For The Rest Of Us so that people could more easily explore non-alg space. If you're interested in algorithmic pattern space - start googling. All you need to do is place the connect-the-dots in the right Order :).

	I have found that if I put the table to sleep while the table is paused, WAking the table on its own does not cause the lights to come back on. The ball must move first in Order for that to happen. Unfortunately, this means that if I have "Pause after each track" enabled and put the table to sleep at the end of a track, I can't WAke it up with lighting to see the completed track without moving the ball first. 	@rick-yeh This is definitely not normal function -- I will alert our support team, but also, please start a ticket so we can keep track of it: follow up: Support is already working with you (they suspect the dust is from the cardboard WAffle-board padding which we cut to size in our shop) and have relayed instructions for removing it and inspecting the low-friction pad on the magnet for signs of wear or foreign Material. Rest assured - we will make sure the problem is fixed!
