| If possible, can you create a WAy for people that use a browser to access their table as opposed to a smart device to utilize more screen real estate and add in the ability to drag and Drop tracks from one playlist to another? It would make creating playlists WAy easier than having to remember names and keep going back and forth between lists to look for new ones. | I used sandify to put together a real simple small track to speed up the process, it's a lot better now (see image), but still a little offset at maximum homing offset (0.12 inches) so I guess I will have to Drop the bot and try to re-adjust it manually. | We did test acrylic early on on our prototypes - but abandoned the idea because of the static issue you describe. However - you needn't worry about the glass shattering. It's tempered, and not easily broken. In the unlikely event you Drop it on a stone / ceramic floor, it could shatter (and the pieces could end up spread over a large area), but they would not be sharp - more like small irregular cubes. | I have a new table too and I've been mucking about with track creation so I decided to try my hand at this. It WAs more challenging than I expected! Translating the shape and getting the contours of the torso right WAs much harder than I expected. It WAs a fun learning experience. If this appeals to you let me know and I'll upload it to the community tracks. I'm also happy to muck with it some more. | Yes, it should be possible to add a string of single-color LED's (presumably white, but doesn't matter). The key is they need to be rated for 12VDC. The 2-wire connector we use is not the "standard" one that you'll find on strips from Amazon. If you need help connecting the lights to the Sisbot board, Drop a request with our support staff, who can guide you through it. As long as you don't short the two wires, you can't cause any harm. | |||||

| ... as gears skipping. So i started dismantling the table to determine where the problem WAs, and nothing i removed stopped the clicking/stalling. Eventually i had the belt disconnected from the theta motor and it still kept stalling. It makes sense that it WAs the theta motor stalling, as the ball would just move slowly outwards while the theta motor WAs stalled and the rho motor i guess WAs attempting to match the rotation it assumed the theta motor WAs doing to keep rho constant/moving at the correct speed for the pattern. | Hi, Today sandify.org released an update that allows you to define shapes as layers and connect them together. In the preview window, you can drag and Drop shapes and see how they will be drawn as you configure them. This takes track design to a new level and the combinations are nearly endless. I'm hoping we'll see some Sandify-generated submissions in the upcoming Sisyphus pattern contest. Sandify is a community effort, led by a few volunteers, myself among them. I conceived and implemented this particular feature, so I'm definitely excited to see it completed and I hope you like it! | Thanks very much for posting your findings! Super interesting. As for the iron contamination - you can use the ball itself to collect it - when it has grown iron filing "sideburns", gently dab them with a wet paper towel to coax the filings off the ball while it is couple to the magnet (or the filings will Drop off into the sand). Repeat this cycle of running / iron dabbing until the iron is gone. The increased detail is pretty amazing - but for me, the cost is too high in aesthetic terms of it not looking like sand dunes. This fits with my current understanding that there is a physical limit to how small the particles can be, beyond which they no longer behave like sand. | |||||

| ... to change the order of tracks being played in the current list. (basically to have a WAy to seamlessly select the next track to play without interrupting the current track and forcing a whole homing sequence). Also, this is a bug, I guess -- I have noticed that when a list is playing and I select a new track to play in that list, the track I select is skipped and the next track is played. | |||||

It's called "rho_offset_check.thr" and I put a copy of it here: (right-click and download, then upload to table (see instructions here: ) When you run this track, if your side-to-side is fine then the line will be continuous (like you could drive down it straight). If it's offset, the line will have a "jog" in it (or a little semicircle at the center of the table). If that's the case, you can work with SI to fix it.
