| RE: Distortion at center of table | 12 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Table Usage | |
| We had our weekly support Meeting, and this came up. Everyone agreed (including me) that my "procedure" could be made a whole lot easier! I assume you used Sandify to create a track that is simply a line that passes through the center? In the Meeting we agreed to create a tool in our app to make this easier (akin to the calibrate tool for RGBW lighting). | |||||
| RE: Feature Request: Save Locally | 6 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | App Updates | |
| Sorry for the inconvenience this caused. We discussed in our weekly support Meeting today. It's already on our dev team's list to implement an opt-in on our app that allows users to store all their track an playlist info on their Webcenter account - making it easy in the future to restore their Sisyphus if anything disappears locally. We'll announce it when it's ready to use. | |||||
| RE: Can I connect remotely? | 6 Relevance | 4 years ago | Bruce | Connectivity | |
| @wrea We still haven't prioritized this (it's a fairly major change). But I will bring it up in our weekly dev Meeting on Monday. | |||||
| RE: Cannot connect to Sisyphus wifi, fails to find ip | 6 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Connectivity | |
| @mzats - Just discussed your issue during our weekly support Meeting. Couple questions: Despite being unable to connect, is the table running? Do you have RGBW lighting? If yes, then you definitely have a reset button - on the small "piggyback" circuit board attached to the Raspberry Pi (green circuit board). If no reset button, we suspect your firmware is corrupted - the fix being either re-imaging your SD card, or if you prefer, we will send out replacement. Here are the directions for re-imaging the card. Or please contact our support desk if you prefer the SD card to be sent out. | |||||
| RE: Cannot connect to Sisyphus wifi, fails to find ip | 6 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Connectivity | |
| Hi @Finn, Sorry for the connectivity troubles (and the loose connector, glad you were able to spot it!). We've had some reports of what you described, and our dev is working on it (connectivity problems our are number one challenge). We have a support Meeting tomorrow morning (dev included) and will discuss this. We will get your Mini connected - thanks for your patience. | |||||
| RE: Request: Ability to add color mode changes and pauses to playlist | 6 Relevance | 5 years ago | Bruce | Other Development | |
| @benrinker - Just got done with a support staff Meeting, and relayed your idea. First off, thanks for sharing your suggestions (and tracks), as well as the great mockup pic. While everyone agreed that some people would make use of this added feature, there WAs concern about added complexity (some of our users find making playlists daunting). Also, what happens if the playlist is played back in shuffle mode? 🙂 | |||||
| RE: Color lights / 2 Ball retrofit kits? | 6 Relevance | 6 years ago | Bruce | Table Customization | |
| Just had a Meeting with the production staff - due to demands from Mini production deadline (delivery prior to Christmas), we're pushing back taking retrofit orders until January. Sorry for the delay! | |||||
| RE: Why demand Bluetooth on every app start? | 6 Relevance | 8 years ago | MicahR | Connectivity | |
| In the current app we opted to require Bluetooth on connection because it has better/quicker discovery protocols. As you both alluded to, once the table is on your local wifi and the IP is known, Bluetooth is no longer needed. However, with dynamic IPs we'll need to adjust our connection method to avoid issues if the tables IP is re-assigned. Currently, we use Bluetooth to send the new IP. Bonjour also solves this issue but is not supported on Android so we're not currently using it on iOS either. Coincidentally, I just had a Meeting with our new QA developer who suggested doing away with Bluetooth except on initial setup. This is one place where Bluetooth appears to be the best solution. On setup a user is unlikely to be on the Sisyphus network so Bluetooth is able to identify the table and direct the user on the steps required to connect. | |||||
| RE: Feature Request: Allow joining wifi networks with short passwords | 1 Relevance | 3 years ago | Bruce | App Updates | |
| Matt (our lead dev) informs me that Modern encryption protocols (WPA2) require 8 or more characters. We do not support multiple protocols. | |||||

| Track corruption on restore -- please add Backup/Restore | 1 Relevance | 5 years ago | john.hughan | Table Usage | |
| I recently had to reimage my table's SD card to get my coffee table running properly after it had been shut down for several days while WAiting for a replacement LED strip that I installed after the original strip failed. After reimaging the SD card, I followed instructions I had previously received from Sisyphus Support for restoring tracks and playlists. I had previously backed up "/home/pi/sisbot-server/sisbot/content", and to restore them, I SSH'd to the table, ran "sudo killall node", and then used WinSCP (an SFTP client) to delete the existing files ... | |||||
