| RE: Sisyphus Table Text Generator - need comments please | 3 Relevance | 7 years ago | Bruce | Community Tracks | |
| I use the term "debug" in a much more general WAy, since we have several code bases involved with Sisyphus - from firmware running on the microprocessor on the SisBotBoard, to the motion Control code running on the Pi, to the code behind our mobile app. A lot of stuff that works during testing here, and on our devs' machines remotely, does not always work on all machines out in the wild (over 2500 currently). Debugging, the WAy I mean it, includes figuring out why new code doesn't work on someone else's machine, even when they've followed your directions. S ... | |||||

| I am going to attach 2 versions of the source code. version 1 just writes 3 lines of text you input. This is the Beta. version 2 does the same but writes the 2nd line backward (since the ball is on the right side at the end of the first. It's not the "preferred" version since writing the characters backward sometimes makes them less readable, but if the effect (which is cool) is liked, I could rework the alphabet data set). Version 1 and 2 differ in a goto statement is either on or off to Control motion Please note that the abc.txt file needs to be in the same directory as your program to make this work. Output file is written to same directory too. Attachment : Sisyphus-Text-Gen-v1.sb Attachment : Sisyphus-Tex-Gen-write-2nd-line-backwards.sb | |||||

| ... to the actual lower range and/or step intervals the light strip is capable of. On my table, the slider needs to be pretty much on the right half of the Control for there to be light, and many “steps” the slider travels don’t raise or reduce the light level. Maybe there is a WAy to “trim” the light and make the slider dim accurately with the light strips. (Minor quibble, as light level is one of those things you usually don’t adjust often, after it’s been set once.) | |||||

| Robin, there is this project described at reddit that is building on what is known about the table's API as used by the web site and apps: sisyphus-control 1.0.0 Bruce, I would also appreciate knowing the SSH credentials. | |||||

| I‘d love to get SSH access please. Is there a documented WAy to Control the table via command line? That would be great for integrating the table into my smart home system... | |||||

| @toddgneville2 On a computer, download the .THR file(s) that you WAnt to play as a track on your Sisyphus table. You may WAnt to create a dedicated folder for these. You can also download any PNG, JPEG, or GIF images of the track(s) for your convenience, but these are not necessary for the table. If you are connecting to your Sisyphus table using a web browser on your computer, skip to Step 5. Otherwise, proceed to Step 2. With your Sisyphus app on a mobile device, open the Settings menu item at the bottom. Select Advanced, then note the Sisyphus URL i ... | |||||
| RE: Adding colored LEDs | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | dithermaster | Table Customization | |
| Bruce, the same RGB+W strips are available for far less than LIFX charges and can and should be driven directly from the rPi (using a separate app is clumsy). I do LED projects all the time (typically using Arduino) and would be happy to collaborate if you WAnted. In addition to fixed and based-on-rho-theta stock lighting modes and effects, I'd like to see certain tracks be able to take over the lighting for artistic effect. My resume: My RGB holiday wreath: RGB+W aquarium lights: P.S. Since rPi is on home network, it also could have some home cont ... | |||||

| Hi @Heropup (and @Jessica), Thanks to both of you - Heropup for first posting this hack, and later, Jessica for reminding me of this color option hack and documenting your steps. I've by been playing with LIFX Z strips for more than a week now, and am pretty impressed. At first I WAs a bit skeptical - the whole "colored LED thing" has been around for a while, and it's usually done in a WAy that I find lacks subtlety (to put it mildly). I still don't think adding color to Sisyphus is essential, or even better - but the clincher (for me) is that the LIFX stri ... | |||||
| Sisyphus app in the Amazon Appstore, please? | 3 Relevance | 8 years ago | joshr | Other Development | |
| I've decided to dedicate a tablet for Sisyphus (and other smart home) Control in my living room, and Amazon's Fire tablets happen to be the cheapest available (especially on Prime Day!) I am also using Flic on this tablet via Bluetooth to provide physical buttons for pausing/playing and toggling the light on the Sisyphus table. Everything's in place and I'm happy with this setup, but the Sisyphus app itself isn't available in the Amazon Appstore, so I'd have to end up sideloading it somehow, or using the web app, both which sound a bit clunky. So here's my request. Can the Sisyphus app please be [submitted to the Amazon Appstore?]( Hopefully this is an easy process. Making it easily available there will simply expand the reach of the (free) software, and spread more awareness of the Sisyphus table. Thanks for the consideration. | |||||
