Would it be possible to add an ambient light sensor to the raspberry board of the Mini in order to have an auto brightness like the tables? Up to now I am setting the brightness over the API and an external light sensor, however something included would be more fail safe.
If it is not supported by the software, would it be possible to get access to the pi user account to have a script running to check a photo resistor connected to one of the GPIs?
The easiest way to do this is to use the SisBotBoard (as opposed to direct Pi GPIO). It already has a connector for the light sensor. We can send a out a sensor, but the problem is that it has to "see" ambient light - but LE's and EX's don't expose the SBB to ambient light. You would have to cable it (three wires) - which it sounds like you have the tech experience to do. You will also need to change the configuration file to enable autodim. I will send you the Pi login creds in a PM.
Hello Bruce, thanks a lot for the answer.
Maybe it is cheaper if I try to get the sensor by myself instead having you ship it to Europe. Could you please tell me the type of the sensor that should be connected to the SisBotBoard? Wiring it shouldn't be a problem.
Sorry for the delay. Turns out new pandemic-related shipping rates are crazy ($100 to ship a tiny circuit board)! I'll email you the schematic.
Hi Bruce, anyway i could get an ambient sensor and run it for my mini i just received. I love the table and would like it to autodim as well.
Thanks
